Adipower and Romaleos are the best money can buy but there's other brands like Inov8, Pendlay, Do Win, Sabo etc that are cheaper.
I DL conventional shoeless, and sumo in asics wresting shoes (really thin but grippy).
Adipower's just far to expensive lol

Adidas Adipower appear to be the best on the market, but having read a lot of reviews there doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference between these and the Adipower. Except for the price!

You don't want a flat shoe for pulls?

I've been doing deadlifts barefoot so I'll stick with that rather than buy a separate pair of shoes (starts to get a bit expensive buying separate shoes for each exercise). I'll wear these for squats only.
Thanks for the advice.

A solid flat shoe for deadlifts. You don't want a raised heel for pulls. Some people even pull barefoot. A raised solid heel is good for squats for the reasons quoted. It allows for people with poor mobility to achieve depth too.

Great price. Bought the blue ones for £55 from Adidas a few weeks ago and they're brilliant for beginners. Get a half size bigger than usual though

These are not bad, but the heel raise is not that significant (the factor that influences the biomechanics when squatting, thus allowing better form / depth potentially), and the actual heel itself is not that rigid (it is a compressed foam), and to allow a more efficient squat you ideally want a heel that won't "sink"....I think these are a good starter shoe, especially at this price a no-brainer.......I moved onto INOV8 Fastlift 325 shoes when on sale at £60....a much better shoe for lifting.

I thought a 'low heel raise' was a good thing for squatting and deadlifts?? Isn't your heel supposed to be pretty close to the ground? Or is that just for deadlifts?
Agree that a more rigid heel is better than one that sinks a little.

You will look a right idiot turning up to the gym in these unless you're actually power lifting
