Had this previously and only thing I would say is the screens not great. Shame it's not full 1920 x 1080 IPS. Not bad for the money though.

Excellent deal considering it's a 256GB SSD and has Win 10 Pro. Only screen lets it down a bit. Heat.

Great little laptop & processor. I have the p238 13.3" version of this & upgraded the ram to 8gb & it plays games like grid autosport on high detail & mine is only ddr3 so this should have a slightly better speed.

i have 4GB RAM on my lenovo ideapad on intel i5, running on windows 10, SSD, and it is pretty fast. starts within a few minutes from being switched on and so for general use, you should be fine.

excellent price for a 14" laptop with good specs. heat added (y)
I'm not saying that is the exact same model, needs some more research. Crucial are saying the X349-M can be upgraded, but maybe -M is for memory upgrade-able
no the screen is no better on this one so its no better...

That's a good bargain for a Thinkpad 13. Does it have backlit keyboard? If so, will have to start looking on ebay. Thanks.

About a minute to two minutes. Certainly not seconds. It is on in seconds but it has to initialise so i have to wait for two minutes before i can start browsing or work with microsoft office

Shouldn't take that long with a ssd. You might want to check what programs are running at start-up
RiverDragon8
22 Jul 172#33
You need to right click on your taskbar then click on Task Manager then click on the Start-up tab and disable anything you don't need to open when windows starts.
You can also click on This PC then right click on your SSD (C:) and click on properties and uncheck Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties. Your laptop shouldn't take 2 mins to boot up.

Have a look at the Jumper Ezbook 3 Pro, Onda Xiaoma 21, T-BAO tbook4, around £200 from China(Gearbest Aliexpress geekbuying). https://techtablets.com/jumper-ezbook-pro/
use code inspiron25 and reduces the price to £247 inc VAT and delivery.

Hmmm apart from the 8 ram, it's not got ssd it's got short battery life, it's i3 vs i5 on the one on here, it's a heavy plastic laptop vs the light ultra book thing on this one.
I am playing devils advocate so if I am wrong please feel free to correct me as I want to buy a laptop and I trust you guys

yeah. just looked and disabled itunes, ccleaner but i think what takes most time, as another poster has said, is the Avast antivirus getting started. it takes time to set itself up and check things before it will allow the pc to start working.

It's because you have a lot of crude on your machine. You need to clean your machine like once a month. Hit Win key + R then type in prefetch then delete everything in that folder (don't worry windows won't allow you to delete anything important). Do the same with Win key + R and type in %temp% and delete everything you can.
Next right click on your C: drive and click Properties then Disk Clean-up then click on Clean up system files then check all the boxes and press OK.
Afterwards run Malwarebytes then after that done do a virus scan. Do the procedure once a month.

Nothing startling, it is decent enough but not the jump I was expecting from my 8 year old Compaq. Otherwise the build is lovely, other than the 'loose' trackpad, the chassis is lovely and is like a bigger version of my HTC M9. I didn't set the McAfee up and loaded Avast instead, all seems nice and quick so far.
