I've just had a text off EE offering £75 off the Samsung Gear VR + Controller. It offers the option to pay interest free - £4/month for 11 months and the price is added to your monthly contract. To take advantage of the offer call 0800 9566019 within the next seven days.

I'm wondering the same thing. However, I have a S7 Edge and a sim only contract but I'm still going to give them a call and see how it turns out.

Mine arrived a few days ago and i have to say, I'm blown away by how immersive it is! Best £4 pm spent. Couple of things to note (told by rep):
This is for contracts with 11 or more months remaining.
This deal is only for S8/S8+ customers.
Text messages for this deal are being sent out in batches. So you may get one in the next week or 2 so everyone should get one.
They've stopped the free delivery.
Also, If you have a protective case on your phone, you'll need to remove this every time you want to use this Gear other wise it won't fit.

Just to clarify, did you have to take the phone as an upgrade or do you just mean if you already have an s8 or s8+?

Just to add my 2ps worth - my local EE store (Blackpool) were just offering this to any new or upgrading customers and had the RRP as £44. No need to show a text message etc. Obviously for S8 and S8+ only.

Used mine last night. Phone gets crazy hot. Takes a little getting used to and took a while to get it to focus. Personally think the remote is a must. Makes using it much easier.

I spoke to two different people on that number. Told me as i haven't had the text then i would need to renew my contact, so went through to retentions, talked through that, asked them to confirm with sales that this offer was on and then i got a resounding no.

All I ever get from them are texts about bloody BT Sport, never any decent deals. I tried calling them and they sais it was linked to accounts.

I don't mean to offend anyone but I'm suspicious of this deal as a customer rep in an official chat said no to me, that I have to take out a new phone deal for it. I'm too aware of scams to know if the stated phone number is an official EE one.

I've just tried doing this and spoke to a fella in the call centre. He advised he was desperate to get the deal but even he wasn't able to unless he had received a text as it is linked to your account. He said there were 250,000 texts going out over the next 7 days. Some were for some head phones, some for Google home and some for these. He said he was crossing his fingers he and I would get one but physically couldn't add it to my account without the text. Bit disappointing but hopefully some of you lucky ones can benefit and we'll all get some texts over the next week!

That's a great deal. Just to confirm, Is it actually £4 p/m interest free for 11 months and that's it. No additional months after that with interest because this is a steal if so... why so cheap? hot

add the image to imgur and post the link here - thanks
Didn't ask me for the screenshot at all. She stated that she could see I had been sent an offer for google home but couldn't see this one. I ordered. Don't know if its worth it but £4 a month cant go wrong really

That is what they quoted for me. I asked for free delivery and she asked her manager and agreed. If you don't ask you don't get.

Yeah that was the price error they honoured and was for headset only. I didn't bother taking the gamble on that then. fair play they honoured it.
This is almost as good as that deal as according to online review remote makes a big difference and cheapest official one is around £30.

Damn, got my hopes up for nothing. It only works for the customers who have at least 11 months left on the contract as they will add £4 to your monthly payments. I've got 9 months left with them so I'm not eligible, gutted.

I don't think the image quality will be much different from cardboard VR
since you'll be using the same phone.
However, the tracking of your head movement will be MUCH better.

Image quality isn't dependent on the headset anyway, due to you using your phone. But yes, the sensors etc will be much better.

I assume this is the 2017 version? Hot deal, I will give them a ring on my lunch break.
For those who own one of these, is this a worthy upgrade from the 2016 version? I've bought one from eBay for £27 a couple of weeks ago lol
