we had mp3 players for music, then mp4 players for video so mp5 must be some super awesome future tech!
reminds me of a theme park I was at recently near barcelona, it had a 5D cinema! cheeky

No such thing as an MP5 player.
It's a marketing term used by cheap Asian manufacturers (Sunday market type stuff).
A .MP5 file is actually a file extension used for a maths application called Maple.
I fear this device will have questionable quality on both hardware and software interface.
It's 99p and you just supply the serial number of the stereo which is usually around the back of it. You might need a simple tool that looks like two prongs to pull the stereo. Don't be put off by this, it's a doddle. Just google 'nissan stereo tool'. You can get them on ebay for about £1-2 as well. There's nothing dodgy here, but please please please don't spend £68 to get your stereo unlocked. It's just a nonsense.

Thinking about adding a rear view/parking camera for my mother's Focus (I think it's a 2013), but not sure about a new head unit. Any suggestions?

My mrs wouldn't be without it now, so get on with it ;-) not sure about going this way though as I think you can get something to do that single job for about the same price but less effort.

I've gone for a large android head unit. I paid a guy to install a camera to it (simple plug, just needs power wired into the rear light), and he just wired it around the side stead of installing it, terrible service really.
In hindsight, there was a really cool looking "RearView Camera inside your center mirror" product on amazon, which I would probably get in lieu of a large head unit. Buttons on your rear-view mirror with an overlay display which shows the rear-view, among other things.

It's £40, it's going to be the worst kind of crap you can buy but it's cheap so people will buy it and accept it might last a year or two at best. At worst it'll just be useless and end up in the bin.

Worth noting it's not a cd/dvd player.

Makes you wonder how the car manufacturers can charge so much for their units ...
spannerzone to Bikertov
12 Jul 172#27
Because they make very well built units and can charge what they like more or less, usually, whereas this is probably been cobbled together using repurposed parts as so often the bottom of the range Chines makers do, eg get a load of cheap displays from some cancelled product and such like.
No different than a £30 7" tablet vs an ipad for £250, both do the same thing, one will be infinitely better build quality than the other,
big.k to Bikertov
14 Jul 17#55
Licensing. That GPS receiver in your car? That has patents and those patents need licensing for example. Other than that, better build quality (more expensive components) and also guaranteed supply of the units for X amount of years.
But yeah, still overpriced when taking that into account...simple reason is planned obsolescence, make you buy a new car than repair your otherwise perfectly functioning older vehicle which isn't earning them any money.

Because they're much better audio and build quality than the likes of this, besides the shafting of the consumer!
(Obviously no one can answer that question without knowing which Corsa you have!!!!)

Yes it will fit a course C and D model. All you will need is the harness adapter they should be about £20 on eBay.

It will fit in any car with a double din slot, ie think of 2 normal cd players (one on top of the other) if you have that space in your car, yep it will fit !

PS Watch the Youtube , looks good and only a little lag in menus due to older spec

I know absolutely nothing about cars but I was wondering if anyone knows if this would fit in a Nissan Micra? We have this model of radio:
but we're currently locked out of it as we had to replace the battery. We've checked all our documents and the previous owner didn't make a note of the PIN so we can't unlock it ourselves. I've spoken to Nissan and apparently the only option is to take it to the dealership where they'll unlock it for us, but charge £68. There are sites online that claim to be able to do it for about £19 but they seem kinda dodgy, and I don't wanna end up having to throw good money after bad.
Anyway, this seems like a much better option, it's cheaper than the £68 just to get the code and even though it may not be the highest quality it seems quite good. Does anyone know if we would be able to swap them over though, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Given that they are different products entirely, you would be better off with two of each

Thanks a lot, I'll definitely look into that. It's just so annoying that we should have the code in our paperwork, there's a space in our handbook where it should be written down but of course it's blank. I definitely wasn't going to pay £68 to unlock it though, personally I really think they should provide it for free, or at the very least charge a more reasonable amount, maybe 5 or 10 pounds

I'm looking into the parking sensors for her focus, and some kind of camera set up for her motorhome - I like the idea of a dedicated camera with an always on display running to a small tablet. I used to have something similar built in to a small rich I used to drive and it was a god send, not just for reversing but also for gauging the distance for the vehicles behind etc (like when overtaking on the motorway)

If you need to ask if this fits, installing an aftermarket stereo is not for you. It can be made to fit ANY car you like, could even put one in the kitchen, downstairs loo....or even under the bed if you like

Most cars will need a fascia plate adaptor to allow the 2Din unit to fit your vehicle dashboard, most vehicles have a single din unit fitted, or a din and a half.
You will also need the correct wiring loom adaptor if you want a nice neat factory install, many of these adaptors can be purchased from ebay or even Halfords.
Just type in the make, model and year of car along with the words 'Fascia Plate' and 'Wiring Harness' or 'ISO Lead'.
