Don't believe what everyone tells you.... It's a great excuse for the lazy and wasteful though!

Not a chance. Some are, to be sure, but even if you think the organisers have the time to pack down thousands of unfamiliar tents, how much demand do you think there is for large numbers of low-quality random-sized tents?

All tents left at festivals are collected and sent to be used for the homeless / refugee camps, they don't just get destroyed

It's not a Porch, its a Merkades.
I would say the only use for this is a throw away for somewhere like Glastonbury, but the ticket prices for there means only the loaded can afford to go, and they wouldnt touch this piece of tat.

Yeah OK as a toy tent in the garden, but don't even think about using in the real world. For the UK weather IMO you want something with a hydrostatic head of 3000mm at least.

If my festivals experience is anything to go by, it won't be!

Could you just buy this...and some reproofing spray?

It's also single skin so you will have increased levels of condensation to deal with too. You might as well spend a little bit more and get a better one in the first place.

Many people will not have a clue and expect it to be ok for festivals (especially when it says they are ideal for festivals in the description) and then find out the hard way that they are not. At the very least it may stop people buying them for festivals and then leaving them behind which is no good for anyone!

Really? You thought it was going to be good? Up to your 'outdoorsy' standards? For £15? From TESCO?

"Ideal for camping" and "waterproof rating of 1000mm" does not compute...
Should really say "terrible for camping unless you enjoy getting wet"

"a waterproof rating of 1000mm"
 A new low for on here! Fine for in the garden but otherwise don't waste your money.
