I bought the "INSTANT" code, and it asked me if I had an account. I said No, because I don't, and then paid with PayPal. Evidently, it created an account for me anyway (using my PayPal details) as I was able to access it by issuing a password reset. That's how I was able to view my order status, but there is no code in there.

Are you really suggesting that this is my fault somehow? I must have missed the bit where it says "You'll only get what you paid for if you create an account before you try to buy it". Don't be so ridiculous.

How does this work? I ordered the "INSTANT" 12 months membership about 20 minutes ago and I haven't received a code yet, so that's hardly instant is it? The only emails I've received so far suggest that it's going to be posted to me?!

Codes stack. The last time I checked it was a 5 year limit.

You can save the code for later use but they do expire but not for a long time. Codes stack if that's what you're worried about.

But I don't have an account with them, it didn't make me create one either, and the "Visit My Account" button in their email literally doesn't do anything. And the email I got from them was sent to "[FORENAME][SURNAME]". All bodes well so far

The one for £29.86 says "In Stock Dispatched Monday for delivery Tuesday if ordered within 4 Hours 10 Minutes"

It'll come in the post.

Good price but I'm done with Shopto apart from an occasional cheap Now TV box. The site and payment system are terrible. Took 5 debits from my account the last time I tried to buy PS Plus. I didn't get a single code!

9 Jul 17 2 #31
Just to let people know. I bought this, have an account on Shopto and haven't received anything but a dispatch email. Has anyone actually received the code?

I even managed to log onto my account and under orders there's no code there either, so I'm fairly sure it's going to be posted. Not that I was in any rush but annoying for those who wanted instant.
magicmike87

It's definitely being posted. I've got an account and it's been despatched first class. No download link in any emails either.

9 Jul 17 #33
Order was processing, now i can't even see the order...
freedms_stain
9 Jul 17 #34
Mine also shows as postal delivery in My Account.

Might be a backup for when their database runs out of Instant Codes.

Very strange though I'll admit - I'd expect the system just to take it off sale once they were out. But I get the impression that ShopTo use a somewhat dated (or at least crappy) back-end - often can't get logged in, crap search engine, pages often don't load properly depending on what browser you're using, their app was absolutely shockingly bad last time I had it installed (it did not go on my list of apps to reinstall upon getting a new phone).

Worth a punt at £28.40 after using ShopTo points, if they cancel the order I'll just go to CDkeys or whoever else has the cheapest deal at the moment since my Plus is up at the end of the week anyway.

but never completes. Tried adding a card to my account directly and that fails the same way.

Server error 5006: Unable to redirect to Vendor's web site. The Vendor failed to provide a RedirectionURL.

Hi. Sorry for the daft question. Someone who is pushing 40, is more akin to an amiga 600 and has recently bought his 6 year old a PS4......what is the psn and what does it give me?
paul_merton
9 Jul 17 #56
As an ex Amiga 500 user, I'd say PSN is worth it at this price. It essentially gets you at least 2 free games every month. They're not always good, but well worth a few quid a month, and some are great. You also need PSN to be able to do any online gaming (never tried it myself, quite happy with single player stuff).
bbm69
9 Jul 17 #57
lol I have to comment on this, if anyone wants a laugh, read through all the comments for people that have tried to order, it's hilarious

It's a code people, digital only. They don't send it through the post, you get the code from your account page after your payment has cleared. BTW Unless you've already got an account one of the requirements is you have already received 2 separate deliveries before they will send you the code. I got around this by paying with PayPal. Well, you're a bit late to the party. You've missed hundreds and hundreds of games that have been on. The games they add these days aren't as good, but every now and then you get something decent. The rule is 2 PS4, 2 PS3, and 2 Vita. But the Vita games are often crossplay titles available on PS4 as well. And this month they gave away that weird social game you play with your phone on PS4. There's a list of the PS+ stuff and the dates they get added and removed each month here
paulpso

Yeah that's wrong. Was that in the email or have you gone onto the order on the site? Pity You missed the prime deal the other day. Anyway if it's not there I'd contact them. Few people have had issues in this thread so they seem to be dropping the ball a bit these days.

yes you can redeem more than one at a time, the expiry date just gets extended by a year, not a good idea tho imo, the PS5 might be here next year without plus or online gaming might be free again (like it should be)

28 Jul 17 #135
A 20% increase on the price is a considerable hike. Admittedly £4.16 a month breaking it down does not sound a lot. You have to remember that a lot of people break down entertainment payments monthly, whether it be tv licensing, broadband, Netflix, Spotify, etc....and you are breaking it down after shelling out £50 in one go.

Monthly has increased to £6.99, Quarterly it is £19.99. However you break it down, 20% increase is steep.

You are clearly not a gamer if you think a game isn't a full game just because it is released by an independent developer and not a big publisher.

Some of my best gaming experiences have been with these games that you would dismiss in an instant. They are unknown classics that get the attention they deserve when given away with PlayStation plus. Don't get me wrong, not all indie games are good just as not all big games are good, and some of the games we've had on Plus haven't been great examples, but you only find that out when you give them a go. I've had many more hours of play from these games than major titles.

Plenty of indie games I have played that are full games, some may lack the polish due to smaller/lone developers, others having the advantage of not being generic, visually or gameplay being more creative.

Cannot say personally I am impressed with Just Cause 3 being next months 'premium' title, personally I have had many hours of fun with titles like 'Resogun' and 'Velocity 2X'

i didn't mean indie games aren't as good, i mean a full PS4 game to me is a retail or big budget PS store release (wipeout HD for example)
i like some indies too, alienation was the last one i liked, even if i thought indies were not full games (i do think they're full games, come to think of it, i wish i never started this now  ) i would still be a gamer, small games, big games, what's the difference
if you're playing games you're a gamer, simple

So what is a 'full' game? Or a 'big' game? Big studio? Big budget? Big marketing campaign? Long play time? A complex story? And plenty of indie games get retail releases - usually after they're successful, which if anything is a lesson to bigger developers.

Oh, also the Wipeout Omega Collection is a remaster/collection of the 2 Vita games -
and it was put together by a small indie studio. They're owned by Sony but they're still small and indie. They made Resogun, Murasaki Baby and Rime.

I managed to get an order in before the price went up, have had the PayPal receipt but nothing from ShopTo yet, does anybody know where to look on the ShopTo website to find the code? Thanks!

i like indie devs, i shouldn't have said they aren't full games, they're just smaller compared to games like gta 5 (AAA)
X dev are great, most of the people who work there are from studio liverpool (Psygnosis, Wipeout devs)

If you think the PS5 will be here next year I would use a stronger word than "dreamer" to describe you.
reddragon105

Yeah, but I was just wondering what constitutes a 'full' game. I mean most games are smaller than GTA V, even other AAA titles, but what does that even mean? Is it a 'big' game because it had a big budget? Big dev team? Big map?

And I'm not sure how many ex-Psygnosis devs are at Xdev. Many of them moved on to form new studios, such as Firesprite and Playrise Digital, which still do work for Sony, but I know some of the original Wipeout development team are now R8 Games who recently released Formula Fusion (a racing game very much like Wipeout).

Ordered this a few days back as my PSN sub expires on the 31st. I haven't used Shopto for a couple of years, but have bought stuff from them in the past with no problems. Got an email from paypal confirming the purchase and the money's gone from my account, but no email from Shopto and nothing in 'My Orders'. Have raised a ticket...
