Main details:
Withings Activité Steel combines watch and fitness tracker to perfectly fit into your healthy, fashion-focussed lifestyle. Styled to look like an elegant watch and built to automatically track your activities 24/7, allowing you to walk, run, swim and sleep uninterrupted by syncing it to the app.
Making the right moves
Activité Steel tracks walking, running, swimming and sleep patterns. If you go for a jog, Activité Steel will recognise the surge in intensity and log it as 'running'. It will also detect when you're asleep and then keep track of light and dark sleep cycles, how often you wake at night and the total duration of sleep, so you can analyse your patterns and get a better night's rest.

To be fair, not this one. Other than dropping the Withings branding Nokia is very keen to develop this sort of market.

Usually when an innovative startup is acquired by one of the big players, the company tends to loose its heart and core values.

They have just been acquired by Nokia and the health mate app has changed. Rather scared of what's to come, anyone looking for a steel HR second hand half price, hit me up.

I predict the next big activity to track is how long you spend on the toilet each day

Bought this watch a while back, it's fairly nice, sits on the wrist well and is comfortable, but is a little slender so is not for anyone expecting a bigger watch.
Also every two days the time would start slipping and would be a few minutes behind and I would have to reset it (rather annoying!). I contacted Withings who told me I needed to replace the battery on it, when I told them I had only had it a month they said well we don't know how long it was sat on the shelf before purchase. After that I took it back to John Lewis and traded it in for a Fitbit blaze...

How about when you are badly constipated or choking Kojak? Does it record a surge in intensity of activiteeeeyyy then too? Or would it get confused an put it down to jogging?
