Mine came in a generic cardboard box. Surprisingly good condition - considering the plug was face down on the screen loose in the box. The 3 prongs literally pressing right into the touch screen! I had to laugh at how stupid you'd have to be to package a console the way it came, but other than that condition was better than expected!

No, the Wii U is HD, your thinking of the Wii, the Wii U is a HD Console with graphics on a par with 360 and PS3, games are still being released now although slowly, Zelda Breath of the Wild is the same game that has just come out on the Nintendo Switxh

Which one do you have? What do you mean a different generation? (Sorry I'm new to all this) isn't the Wii u the console that came out with the PlayStation 2? I had a quick look at both and graphics looked similar
hi, should i get this or a ps2? i think the graphics and games are slightly better on the ps2 such as vice city etc, but apparently mario kart is very fun

Mine has just turned up today. It's in very good condition too! A lot better than fair I would say! Had a bit of trouble setting it up though as I used my existing hdmi connection to my av amp that I use for PS4 and Xbox one. It wouldn't show up on the tv! I ended up using the free hdmi lead they provided and connected it straight to the tv. That seems to be doing the job for now. I'm pleased though for the price.

I am tempted to get one for my son so he can play Mario kart 8.
He was gutted because I took the switch with me for a business trip and left him with the old wii.

Mines arrived this morning. While it did not arrive in the retail packaging the console itself is in great condition as too are the accessories. Its great value if you dont mind the plain brown box.

I agree crazy shelby, like the wii u on release i think the switch is to expensive. I had a switch on release day completed BOTW mostly on handheld to be fair and that was because the frame rate drops really got on my nerves, for such a new console to have this issue seems very doubtful about its potential and future at its current price?
As said wii u on release to me was so over priced again i purchased played a few games and sold but now i have purchased second hand maybe more hands haha for £80 with mario kart, splatoon and pokemon battle revelation (wii) and its worth every penny. Especially once trading in splatoon as i already owned it digitally from before so quids in

This for me, is the problem I actually have with the Switch. It's portability.
I understand totally why they've done it, but mobile gaming doesn't interest me, and I don't think it interests quite a lot of the western gamers.
Now, if they release a home console version only of the Switch, then I'm sold. But it would obviously be cheaper and just a unit, no screen/tablet needed.
I'll wait for that inevitable version.

Been deliberating getting one since the £99.99 deals a few weeks ago, finally took the plunge!
Like some other people have said, I have no interest whatsoever in playing games anywhere except on my lounge TV so the portable aspect of the switch is of no benefit to me. I already own some wiimotes, so I can play multi-player Mario Kart straight away, extra switch controllers are a ridiculous price!

Unless you're desperate for the Wii-U id personally just put the money towards a Switch. I recently bought one and its just worlds better than the Wii-U. The flexibility to play literally anywhere and local multiplayer opportunities are worth every penny. My partner loves it and she isn't a gamer in the slightest.

Appreciate what your trying to say but I'd say the opposite. I bought a Wii U for under one hundred pounds this week just to experience Zelda BOTW and Mario Kart. Although I've played games for many years and mainly go on PS4/Xbox One, I've been blown away by Zelda. Yes being realistic the game suffers now and again with framerate hitches but is the difference to a yet unestablished console (Switch) worth an additional 190 pounds? No not at the minute definitely not. My girlfriend loves the fact she can play Zelda in her hands, while the TV is on something else. My friend showed me the Switch version of Zelda and its lovely but you'd expect it to be for that price! I'm also concerned by the power of the Switch. With Fifa 18 changing to a dumbed down version, along with other games at E3 already stating they are not coming to said console, if I'd spent 280 pounds I'd be worried whether its going to be powerful enough in the long run. Mario Odyssey will be great (as Mario always is) but personally people should wait until it has 10 - 15 must play titles.
This is a bargain for anyone wanted to play an established back catalogue of great games, along with the latest Zelda. Obviously if you must have the latest gadget and need portability look at a Switch.

Great console. I only recently picked one up (for Xenoblade  and I'm really impressed with it. Funny how everyone is so excited about the Switch when it's showing itself to be little more than a portable Wii U (with a lineup of Wii U ports that you'll pay over the odds for).

I so tempted by this, but those game prices are still so expensive 2nd hand in respect to the PS3 and 360's when the PS4 and Xbone arrived....

I wouldn't compare it to those consoles. It was still, until recently having games released for it regularly.

The Wii U is fantastic. The Dreamcast of its generation. The first party games are fabulous, and if you have young kids it's just spot on for local multiplayer especially games like Nintendoland... If you don't want to fork out for a Switch this is well worth doing. most games can be had for 10-15 quid if you shop around.

Don't forget your Official Zelda Wii-U gamepad case, now 50% off!
It was great for its time, but it really hasn't aged that well.
Galaxy 2 is far superior imo...And in another 10 years I'll probably say that hasn't aged that well when the next best Mario game comes along - hopefully Odyssey!

Super Mario 64 was the best game ever. Nothing they do now can ever reproduce the game it was that damn good.

Quality of the one I received was great, sure there were scratches to the console itself and the enclosure of the gamepad, but I expected that. A great deal to experience the back catalog of wii u games!
