I have the Campagnolo Chorus version of this bike and it is a serious machine. Weighing around 7KG. My bike arrived with Khamsins wheels, but I flogged these as I already had a set of Zonda's.
Really just about as good as my mates £2.5K Cannondale but about 1/2 the price.

I have both the Pro Carbon and the Viner Mitus. The Viner Mitus is a much faster machine.

No, your legs will determine how fast the bike is NOT THE FRAME!!!!!

I was looking at these too and you can also get the Viner Maxima RS 4.0 for £1364 in the same offer (I haven't ridden either but am looking to get a new bike soonish)
Not quite sure where the 7.06kg weight comes from as the one above has the same kit with a lighter frame but a stated weight of 7.55kg, who knows confused
Yes the weight stated will nearly certainly be off, because the bike review you've posted had upgraded kit and (imo) groupset compared with the the link yet weighed 7.22kg.
Still worth considering IMO but don't expect a 7kg bike. Why they ship these bikes with crappy heavy wired tyres is beyond me too.

£1100 for a bike!, Tesco were doing them for £50 the other day..........Sorry after today's events I needed a good laugh

Yup, the "£1000 on a bike", is right in there with "never buy a new car when you can buy one second hand"

Some people on here can only afford that bike because of HUKD.
This year alone I've saved hundreds with the broadband and phone deald I've gotten. 4.80/m for 50mb bt broadband, I'll never get a deal like that again.

So how much faster is an aero bike over 40km at 300w than a standard road bike or your £50 tesco bike? get out nub

Unless semi-professional or earning footballers wages...WTF!?
Nice. Very tempted... shame it's from Planet X tbh.

Nice to see Viner for a change, a cool and rarer old school brand. Personally if spending this sort of money I would buy a Wisper 905 se with the Samsung 16AH battery (best elec bike for the money me reckons), but I am lazy and have no interest in seriously riding road bikes. Hot deal for this though.

... Reading around, I take it these are re-badged Planet X bikes? Seems Planet X have just licensed the Viner badge, maybe I'm wrong.

yeah planet x own the Viner marque as well as Holdsworth.. so pretty much a rebadged planet x frame but more development has gone into this.. it's their premium brand and apparently a very good frame.. imo pretty good value for money although if you wanted to be tight you could go out and buy all the components separate from ebay etc and try to get a better deal..but that might take some time which is not paid for.

If you have two bikes with identical kit, one with an aero frame the other with your Tesco frame, there will be absolutely no difference in speed. 90% of the air resistance comes from the person not the bike.

Not a bad price in mid-eason and post brexit.
Certainly a good bike. Personally I'd prefer to locate my money in a more mainstream brand name. Partly due to resale value. Partly because I'm not convinced Plane X's products have the same level of quality and R&D as the bigger names.

There will be a difference but to appreciate it would mean you would be competing at a fairly high level...that said the £50 tesco bike might not stand up to 300w for any length of time..

Well with all things like this its what is value to people. Some pay £££££ for cameras some for golf equipment and some for bikes. I love cycling and have done it for a LONG time (approx 30 years) and I have had a few bikes but I have not been bitten by the "I must have an expensive bike to ride better" bug as my bikes have been second hand or budget bikes like my halfords carrera which is a superb bike in my eyes and great value at £220 and I did a sportive on it recently and came in withing the first 10 riders and beat a lot on more expensive bikes..... well actually everyone else was on a more expensive bike than me but what I am saying is if you can afford an expensive bike and you love cycling then why not..... you only live once so enjoy like and buy nice things that you enjoy

The other thing is I can't buy a Canon or Callaway in a tax efficient manner.
If you buy say a Boardman in the sale and use it all year you can sell it and it hardly costs you anything. Rinse and repeat.
