I'm guessing they will alter the price if you have already pre-ordered, I can't be bothered cancelling and re ordering again to save 25p X)

Just to confirm this is £25 for both games? And if so how much would they go for separately?
Gamerofgames
5 Jun 17#4
Yeah its £25 for both. Not sure how much they would be seperately.

Not sure, but I think the Jak game will be the PS2 version supplied as a download code, not even the hd version from the PS3.

I take it I have to cancel and pre-order again to get the new price? Heat added :sunglasses:

I'm gambling that CEX offer £24 on release day to trade in, the last game it happened for was Gears of War 4 where you could buy it, play for free, keep the free download game(s) then trade it in to them (and I guess the Neon Switch) but fingers crossed!

The J&D games will be 1080p up-rendered with trophy support

You shouldn't have to, last time they updated my order automatically and even sent an email to confirm

I've never used Base. How are they for release date delivery? Do they take payment on dispatch or order placement?

Alright Cheers mate for some reason I was thinking it was a HD remake from the Ps3 version not realising that was already a HD remake lol

I refuse to buy and play this game even if it was free. it's not Uncharted without Uncharted characters. I hope this game fails (_;)

Thanks. I remember my Darksiders pre-order for the Wii U they updated me on changes to the release date but was not sure when it comes to changes in price.

Payment on dispatch. The Darksiders pre-order for the Wii U mentioned in my last comment I think I remember arrived one day after the release date. I have been happy with all my orders through them so far.

But they will be uprezed from the PS2 versions, ie they will look horrible in HD.
PS3 games don't work on PS4 so they won't be the fully reworked PS3 versions will they?
Maybe they will go the extra mile for a game they are giving away with a budget title to start with, but I doubt it. I reckon they are just releasing the PS2 classic as a download for PS4.
If you want to play this you'd be better getting the Jak collection for PS3 as that was worked on.

Yep I agree, I think that's why it got lost in the first place. oO

It is a HD remake with trophy support.
It's a ps4 remake I believe - further enhanced than the PS3 remakes.

Not saying for sure you are wrong, but every single thing I've read so far says this is simply the PS2 version running via emulation on a PS4, not a remaster at all.
Sure it will output in 1080p, but it will be the same low res textures that the PS2 version had, uprezing doesn't make textures better that's why they do remasters, because when you increase the rez, you need to improve the assets or it looks bad.
Do you have a source that stats they are reworking this game they are giving away for free with and already budget priced title?

The one game you get free with ULL will still be fun. Certainly people should see it as a bonus freebie when buying an already likely decent game. Yes I agree. I already have that collection, but I'll definitely play it again, you can never have too much J&D. Fingers crossed we get other J&D games in the future!

It's the PS2 versions that are being up-rendered so you are correct. If they look a bit blurgh, the games are so fun I doubt I'll care at all

If the rumoured 10 hour length is correct, that would work out perfectly!

These versions should be superior, graphically at least. If there's any outlet that can be trusted when it comes to technical matters, it's Digital Foundry.
Base like zavvi and others in the Hut Group take at least 5 days to deliver. If you order on Monday you may get it on Saturday if your lucky. I've yet to experience the " 2 working days " nonsense on their T+C's.

Are you saying that Base.com are part of The Hut Group? I may be wrong, but I don't think that that's the case.
I've always had prompt delivery from them, with a couple of days sounding about right, or a little longer if ordering from base.ch.
For pre-orders such as this, the game should arrive in time for the release day, at the latest.

A poster asked how they were in general and if you bought a game right now you would be lucky to get it by Saturday. Pre-orders from reliable retailers are usually dispatched several days before release date. I'll happily buy from Base and Zavvi if it's a good price but i know from over 2 dozen experiences i'll be waiting for my game / BluRay !

Okay, let's clear up a few things about this - there is only one version of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy and that is the original PS2 version. There is no HD remake or remaster. It has been released digitally on both PS3 and now PS4 and in both cases it's the original PS2 version being run through a software emulator on the more powerful console. However the PS3's PS2 emulator and the PS4's PS2 emulator treat the games differently - the PS3 simply runs the game at its original resolution and upscales it to whatever you've got the PS3 set to (so probably 1080p) so in theory it should look the same as if you were actually playing it on a PS2 (because in that case your TV would be doing the upscaling), although in some cases it might look worse as the emulation isn't as good as native hardware. The PS4, being more powerful, actually renders the games at a higher resolution (well, the 3D parts of them anyway - there's not much that can be done for 2D assets as they're pre-rendered so they'll just get upscaled). The PS2 rendered its games at 512x448 or 640x448 - the PS4's PS2 emulator renders them at 1292x896, then upscales them to your display settings (so, again, probably 1080p) and obviously they've also added trophies. The results are actually pretty good from what I've seen, although I've seen some glitches in the games I've played and it does change the feel of the games in a way. Worked just fine for me when I said what Sony had said, but hey...
Sorry, but just what is the point/problem here? I was just trying to be helpful. I had to use Google to check the exact render resolutions but otherwise it was just off the top of my head because I've looked up how PS2 games work on PS3 and PS4 before to satisfy my own curiosity. Some people seemed confused or misinformed about what they were getting so I thought I'd post the info here to save them from looking it up.

The PS3 and vita versions of the Jak trilogy are remasters - they are not PS2 classics. Cheers.
