The People's Operator now offers 4G, and this is a cracking tariff for newbies only. For £3.99/mth you get 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts and 1GB of data.
TPO also offers 700 minutes, unlimited texts and 2.5GB of data for £6.99/mth. Posted but voted cold
Launched in 2012, The People's Operator is a piggyback network running off Three's signal. The company has had mixed customer service feedback in the past, but it's taken steps to improve since. It will also give 10% of your monthly spend (pre-VAT) to a charity of your choice – a nice touch.
Need-to-knows 30-day rolling contract; contracts terminate at the end of the calendar month in which you give notice. Runs off the Three network. Calls to UK mobiles and landlines included. Calls to 084/087 numbers extra – see call costs. Use up your allowance and you'll have to pay 3p/MB and 10p/min. You won't be credit-checked, though it'll carry out a basic ID check.
No credit check either just id check and also low out of allowance usage! Not sure about roaming but eu will be included

I've been with Three for many a year now. Have experienced no worse a signal issue than with other providers. All subjective, I know, but I'd say the whole overall poor signal on 3 thing is a bit of a myth nowadays

Does anybody regularly keep their eye on how long these Uswitch mobile deals last for? When I joined Life Mobile (now plusnet) back in December 2015 the Uswitch deal stayed online for ages. I've just given my 30 day notice on my current sim so ideally don't want to be ordering this new one for 3 weeks or so.

Thanks for the heads up on the deal - just ordered.
Perfect for my secondary phone and/or holiday/working abroad backup phone, especially with the new roaming costs changing from today! i.e. all minutes, texts and data are included in your allowance in european zone 1 & 2 without extra charges - about time! Granted got to pay £50 refundable deposit to active this feature with TPO, but least you get your money back in 6 months.
Only on a 30 day rolling contract, can cancel anytime if they are that bad as people are claiming.
Btw if you want to call 0845/0870 numbers, use WEQ4U app and the call charges just come out of your minutes allowance rather than an additional cost.

Yeah i got an email explaining this. They also mentioned cost of sim will go up by £1 per month.
I am still on the 3G plan...didnt bother upgrading to 4G about 3months as they said i would lose 0870 calling feature so kept to the original plan but looks like they taking that feature off of all their plans now which is a shame

If you have a phone without 4G support u can use this?

Yep, you can. You don't have to have a 4g enabled phone to use a tariff that includes 4g data. You'll still get the stated allowance, but just won't get the 4g speeds - just like if you went with any other 4g deal.

Good deal.. however the company is terrible!! I left because of customer service, I had a problem and it took them 3 weeks to reply. And it was still unresolved. I've now left them since march and am still being "billed" after being told my account was "confirmed" closed. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. unless you want stress when leaving. I've had stress for the last 3 months.

Call your bank and ask to make an indemnity claim to reverse any direct debit payments which you are not happy with. Takes 5mins. I did it with Virgin Media as they were "billing" me even though my account was £106 in credit.

Is there a contract sim out there that allows 0845/0870 numbers.
My Virgin sim is going to be no good from 1st July as they have said they are discontinuing the 0845/70 feature from it

Really, they haven't said anything to me yet? You haven't moved to their 4g have you? I know when I went for the free upgrade they said I'd lose 087/084 numbers so I stuck with 3g.

Good job it was posted again then, as it looks like a lot of people missed it last time.... Good job OP

Piggy-backing off Three, that'll be a bust for many hoping for such a privilege as a signal.

. In London they give free sim cards with minutes and data at many races and major stations
this looks like a scam to me. when I click on the get deal button it take me straight to a page where they want my details, but if I look for the deal myself I can't find it

Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence of getting throttled data with these guys compared to Three? I'm with Three now after having a horrible experience with dead slow data at GiffGaff. A little bit worried about going back to an MVNO. On the face of it, this looks better than the PlusNet £5 deal due to the lower out of allowance data charges. PlusNet charge £1.50 each day if you run out - ouch!
