Thomas Cook is now knocking off £200 on holidays between now and 31st August. I've been searching the website myself and everywhere I have looked at, eg Majorca, Malta, and Cyprus have this deal. You need to enter the promo code EXTRA200 at checkout which is at the final payment process. Seems to work on already reduced holidays too!
Minimum spend is £700 - RedDevilPJB

This is rubbish and a scam. I was looking at a TC holiday that was priced at £1500 before this code can be used and now that it can be used the price is £1671.

nope - lots of factories shutdown for set dates as well. So people working there with no kids would still need to go away.

Add on airport transfers and luggage and it bumps up the price.
No thanks

Well, it's only families with school age children that are forced to go on holiday in school summer holiday time isn't it?

now you are just moving the goalposts by saying its for 4 :P

Just by looking on the thomas cook website. Just searched for any airport, all longhaul and any date

I could have been clearer by saying 'school summer holidays', rather than 'summer holidays', that's true. But its not a problem uniquely relevant to me. And, even if you don't have children, you'll still pay the school holiday prices if you want to go away then.

Think you meant to say irrelevant to you!
Of course it is relevant, not everyone is part of a family of 4 you know?!

For your average family of 4, you think you'll get an under £700 summer holiday abroad? That's £175 a head? Don't believe you.

no its not. book your cheap flight first & then look for cheap digs afterwards.

Thomas cook is usually competitive, I just booked a holiday with a £100 code. Should have waited longer

Could you be a legend you try and rebook the exact same holiday with this code to see if it is actually any cheaper, sorry if that'd annoy you if it is cheaper, you could always try and ring up and see if you can get something back or something extra?

Thomas cook usually grossly overpriced on their holidays. Thomson usually way cheaper for equivalent standard of holiday.

Really? I find Thomson more expensive every time on AI holidays compared with Thomas Cook

I go with 3 other adults, should I risk booking the same holiday twice using the code twice, rather than booking 2 rooms? I know there is a £700 min, but that just means we'd get a holiday that would have cost 50 more for the same price.

This offer has been around in various forms all year like the Jet2 one . There are good deals to be had but don't be dazzled by the £200 off (as in most cases it has just been added on to the price ) , Do as you do with other things , check the total price with competitors and take it from there .

What is the code for Jet2 discount?

Wife & daughter took advantage of similar deal with £200 off £800 spend. Add on anything - luggage, seats & aircraft meals etc to bump up the initial price so as to get the discount off. They enjoyed a 5* all inclusive holiday to Icmeler, Turkey for £311 each. Perfectly safe & enjoyable. Maybe not for some but Thomas Cook have other safer? destinations available before you shout me down for suggesting Turkey which I believe is currently at the same threat level from terrorism as the UK.

There's money off Florida holidays with a different code "FLORIDA", but you can't use it in conjunction with this discount so although the holiday I looked at had £150 off for the florida code, the extra200 code only took off the extra £50!
Wasn't really expecting to get both discounts, but it would have been nice :smirk:
