I would not usually post CEX deals, but I think this is a very unusual option at a good price and just ordered one myself earlier.
The only android phone with DAB+ radio built in, it was released last year, and is currently around £200 in Argos / Amazon brand new. The good thing with this second hand phone is the battery is replaceable, which is often a biggie when buying a second hand phone.
5.7-inch display with 1,280x720-pixel resolution 155mm by 79.6mm by 7.4mm and 145g (6.1 by 3.1 by 0.3 inches and 5.1 ounces) 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor Rear 13-megapixel camera, 8MP on front 1.5GB RAM 16GB storage with microSD 3,000mAh battery Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Not great specs, nor screen (not HD, just 720p), but reasonable, and with a stylus and very good battery life,.... and for folks who like DAB (which does not use data, and uses about a fifth of battery that streaming radio does) this may be of interest.
Think it has Nougat now.
They also have these phones locked to O2 from about £115.
P&p is £2.50

And every time I need to buy a radio I make sure it has phone functionality.

DAB radio? Dude we have apps now this is not 2006 or something.
You'd be crazy to pick this over say a 2nd hand P9 Lite. The specs are awful.

I am actually going to trade in my p9 lite. It's a great phone, have had it for six months, and yes it is better in most usual ways than this phone, but the DAB has really impressed me, as well as the battery life and nice big screen on this LG Stylus2.
LG Stylus 2 is a great secondary device for media

The TV bit went years ago, but mine is still going strong for DAB functionality. The only other bit that was removed/stolen by Virgin Mobile was the remaining £7 credit I had on it, as I forgot to keep it active.

You do, but can use the loudspeaker and it's fairly loud.
Been out and about in London this evening, walking about no issue, and on the bus and it has cut out a couple of times when the bus gets moving, but over all very good.

7y 38d1#44
Well recieved it this morning and been playing with it for a couple of hours.
Been very impressed so far the DAB has been solid (though i have just been sat in my flat) and the volume on the speaker is loud enough to use as a stand alone dab radio (seems about the same max volume as say a Note 4, but much better than S5) the FM radio is good too.
Browsing is a little slower than on say my Note 4, but usuable for sure and everything else seems pretty smooth.
Device is lght to hold and the screen seems fine to me.
Youtube and Iplayer are spot on this is looking like a great option as a media player with DAB and FM radio to me (obviously need to test the radios when out and about later)

The DAB radio does work as well as most in strong signal areas per the same review. If you know you'll be in a strong signal area you might be OK.

Warning: This LG phone's DAB sensitivity was tested in a thorough private test to compare a range of pocket DAB radios: https:[email protected]/pocket-dab-radio-sensitivity-9e5829e4ffd0
and it's DAB sensitivity came out as "...performed incredibly poorly under medium signal conditions".

Sorry I wasn't very clear in that they refunded my cost for the phone as well (as store credit) , but I think £5 compensation is pathetic. I'm not angling for massive compensation, but something to cover my outgoing costs should have been the least they did!

7y 38d#39
Problem is, from what I've been reading, CEX don't refund your cash or credit card, they just give you store credit to the current value (which lowers over time) or a replacement which they may not have.
I wanted to buy a phone as the price looks good but it seems their newer 'A' grades are a target product for insurance fraud/theft and you may not find out until months down the line.

I know this is probably very uncommon, but I got a Motorola G5 in A condition from CEX, boxed like new, a month later it got blacklisted. Very pissed off about this as i'd bought accessories for the phone , paid to get it unlocked. They offered me a £5 goodwill voucher ..... will not be dealing with them again.

with CEX you need to read the small print, what they agree to.
2nd hand goods come with a 6 month warranty, but if the retailer should disagree with you and make it difficult, you will have to do your Citizens Advice research to find the legal terms and apply them in writing. a lot of people cannot be bothered to fight when told "NO!" they just give in, go away, snivel and moan. if your claim is clear you will win but don't lie to yourself on the legitimacy of the claim, if it is your fault suck it up, if not do as Harry Hill "FIGHT!"

7y 38d1#35
Cex aren't too bad, they do try to wriggle out of their warranties though you have to be firm with them. You need to exchange a phone to be cost effective as they are rip off prices so your only hope is exchange value for your old phones. I never knew DAB came to phones. I was always told it was battery hungry. This is good for radio without data but like others have said I have 2350 songs on 12gb and that is enough to entertain me outside of my data areas. DAB was looking ropey until they sorted the second national multiplex. I got a tenner radio for virgin/absolute and it works OK. They need to kill original mp2 dab and embrace DAB+ fully so that they can fit more on the multiplexes.

7y 38d#34
The idea of a phone with DAB+ sounds great. Not sure about dealing with CEX though!? I can tell you from misfortune of having dealt with them. They'll tell you how good their customer service is and how great their returns policy is but when it comes to the crunch they'll kick you in teeth or anywhere else they can for that matter.

I've got this handset. Had it about a 9 months. Got it because of the DAB feature for accompaniment during the long walks to work and back.
I thought the stylus feature would be bonus ( think poor mans Samsung note here) . The stylus is passive.
The radio needs the earphones plugged in to work.. I listened to it a few times but ended up preferring to listen to music on my SDcard
Overall the phone is very slow. thought I'd speed things up by getting rootlevel access. It is rootable but phone has to have a specific ( earlier ) bootloader so if you wanna root be sure to skip the immediate invitation to update on turning the phone. Once the bootloader updates you wont be able to root with the auto root ( kingo/kingroot) app
I only managed to root it with an auto-root app ( kingroot or kingo root ) cant remember but then Malwarebytes kept flagging up other stuff introduced to the phone so I remove the rooting app.
Long story short it is a a slow phone quad 1.2 GHz processor is a bit reedy in performance and the handset sports just 1.5GB ram!
I spotted the new LG stylus 3 in the 3store this week, gonna go back and play with it. I think it's an octacore. I don't know if the Stylus3 has the DAB feature though.
I don't believe this phone ( STYLUS 2) has or will ever receive Nougat , the US Variant ( STYLO 2 ) which lacks the DAB radio got Nougat I think or at least was easier to root and install newer roms
Now moving on to hopefully a faster handset
Just annoying when you pay extra £s and don't get a decent service - in a city centre. I just avoid the 4G Goodybags now. 3G, for some reason, is more stable. GiffGaff are great for the free calls to other members, but data isn't good. Though that's hardly news to anyone

Yes it seems BT Movio (TV over DAB) was dropped. It was digital TV at 320x240. It seems they added a few more channels like E4 before it closed.
As it has a DAB receiver it should still support radio. If it powers up at all. It's been sat in its box for 11 years!
