Build quality is fantastic, it's amazing what they have squeezed into this thing. Aside from the syncing issues (which I have not experienced) this is a very well put together piece of kit.

If I can't afford Christmas this year, it's going to be entirely Nintendo's fault.

My second switch cartridge lands today, so I'll see how I get on with the game juggling... Have MKD from the E-shop, so always on the device and I think it needs to be. Tempted to say Mario Odyssey needs to be always on too... Nice price though!

Nintendo have been making great games for decades. But I used to feel that only a select few of us gamers were aware of this fact. Always having to hide our Nintendo fetish from the big boys playing adult games on XBox/PS.
But since the Switch launch it seems the rest of the world has caught up! This will be a great game guaranteed. Not sure £40+ is a particularly great price though. When will this Switch madness end?...

To be fair Yas the Nintendo made games on the Wii and Wii U were only decent to good. It is only now that their backs are against the wall and their aging developers have they decided to let the youngsters among them have a go and create games on the switch that are good to phenomenal. Nintendo have finally caught up and surpassed the rest of the industry and are showing them how it should be done again ala Splatoon, Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey. Consumers have noticed this and Nintendo are finally giving them content that is better value for their money.

Agree 99.9% of the time, but this is Tokyo EAD, this is Mario.

The trouble is the hardware is vastly different to what Microsoft and Sony are doing so big third party AAA titles don't usually make it to Nintendo consoles. I buy Nintendo for first party software and have a PS4 Pro for the third party AAA titles.
I don't own a Switch but seeing Yoshi and Mario is making me tempted... hence me looking at this item! Not that you can get a Switch for love nor money at the minute.

I have the spare money to buy the Switch, but will hold on for now, when they either reduce the price to a more realistic price (it's simply poor value at the moment considering the meh build quality and all the issues),or when they release the redesigned version.
I'm mainly interested in Zelda as I completed (almost) every Zelda game and am a fan.
Will give this Mario a shot although not the biggest fan of Mario games really.I found the modern city segment of demo very boring and unfit for a Mario game.why they did that?
I would have ordered a Switch if they had announced Animal crossing on E3,but sadly no sign of it.
I really love to see a new and improved Animal Crossing game on Switch.
I don't care for Splatoon,Metroid,Mario Kart or Xenoblade at all tho.(played them briefly on Wii U and Wii and GC didn't like them)

Build quality: Definitely feels better than it looks. Solidly built too despite the plastic screen (which is fixed by a cheap or not so cheap screen protector)

I wished mine was fantastic quality but it has a slight bend in it that appeared from nowhere and now doesn't easily slip into the dock anymore.

The first two games you mention of the three are Wii U games you realise? Nintendo games have generally been great on every console they've released, but popularity distorts reality
Tequila
16 Jun 171#19
how can you call the build quality and design fantastic when there are numerous legit cases of them getting bent while docked due to poor heat control and many of the screens easily getting scratched by just putting on the dock due poor design?
there is also the widespread joy con syncing issue as well..
I cannot understand what you find amazing about the tech they "squeezed" in there,I mean a new smart phone will easily outperform the graphics and processor of Switch yet at a fraction of the size.

ever heard of One Plus 3 or Xiaomi Note 4? both in same price range and similar power/even better.
so no not necessarily £800 or even £350..
also the discussion wasn't about price, the guy said it's amazing how Nintendo packed the console in this form factor and I reminded him smaller devices are available, price wasn't relevant to the discussion initially..

I was worried about the build quality but it is absolutely fine, the only thing that I didnt like was the lack of soft materials in the dock, so bought a small padding pack that sticks into the inside. Now the switch slides in and out without any risk of damage.
Well the saisnburys near me (colchester, Tollgate) has had them in stock from the day they were released.

It has been available for all but a couple of days a few weeks ago where all retailers dried up but have since got new stock. May be harder to find on an actual store shelf but it has been available online from reputable retailers from day one as well.

A bigger screen is immersive and most of the tech is in the controllers which you also don't get to the same standards on a phone. All I can say is you're missing out. Sync issues were fixed with new stock and the 'majority of people didn't experience this at all. A good screen protector out of the box solves any docking issue.
Tequila
19 Jun 17#29
I'm not missing out,as I said I'm considering getting one and will eventually get one.I even already bought the "amFilm" screen protector which is considered the best.
but truth should be told, there are real hardware issues that they need to iron out,and they will.
also considering the technology and build quality of this system it's definitely overpriced.

Hmm.. tempted but I was thinking of getting this for the kids to open up on Christmas morning, so may hold off for now and see if I can pick it up around the £30 mark or lower come Black Friday sales etc..

Black Friday is only a month after release. Will be lucky if it sits at £40 imo. Nintendo games don't often drop much.
