£10 under most retailers, £69.99 seems to be the RRP, 6% Quidco & Topcashback back also.
I did buy the NES Classic Mini when it came out but had no real excitement for it as it was a little before my time, I can't say the same for this amazing console 16-bit games tend to age alot better, I just hope Nintendo can add a few more games to the roster like Mario All-stars

If I receive all my pre-orders I have decided to sell them at the RRP (+postage) after the scalpers have listed all theirs for huge amounts. If I can undermine just two scalper sales by selling at RRP then that will give me a little satisfaction for a couple of minutes.

Yeah nasty! some americans try to convince themselves it looks better by saying 'oh it looks less a toy and more mature' when the SNES essentially was a toy! I think the EU and Japanese version looks really sleek and knows what it is, the NTSC literally looks like a robots backside
However their games ran faster on their 60hz tv's and they didn't get deprived of Earthbound, Chrono Trigger Super Mario RPG etc etc. I would have quite happily looked at a robots backside to have played those as a kid!

27 Jun 171#78
Horsesh*t it's because of that. You just limit it to one per customer.
I'd guess they're doing it because it's Game, and Game like the idea of having £50 deposits from everyone in their cashflow for a couple of months instead of just £10 from everyone. The books look healthier and they can make a little more interest on it.
£50 indeed! I wouldn't even trust them to exist by then.
I went to buy a Switch from them the other day on an impulse buy. By the time they'd finished trying to sell me an extended warranty, and their paid-for loyalty card, as well as not even taking Amex, I'd cooled off and walked out.

As soon as I saw this thread I went straight to the Nintendo site, added the SNES Mini to my basket, then couldn't remember by password to log in. Had to do a password reset, got back in, did a search for the SNES Mini, only to find that it had sold out - hence my comment above.

Don't think they counted on scalpers ordering 10. So instead of 100 units being enough allocation for a store (hypothetical example), they'd have needed 300. And even then it might just mean more scalpers come up.
Unless Nintendo overproduce this (highly unlikely), any artificial scarcity would be due to scalpers

I think he would need about 1,000 units to make any sort of difference to the price level. Selling at under the RRP would then lead to scalpers panicking.
Seems like very.co.uk pushed out a lot of units before they became permanently unavailable.
Keep your eyes out on VERY!

28 Jun 17#172
OK.. I cannot find an answer to this anywhere, would be grateful if anyone can shed any light this..
Regarding "Secret of Mana": originally, this was a three-player collaborative game - will it only be a two player collaborative game on the Mini SNES?
Sadly, I suspect that it will only be two-player...
mp365
29 Jun 17#173
Sadly you are right, I alone would never be able to get enough units to move the market for these items against scalpers. As has been commented elsewhere the only people who can do that is Nintendo as they ultimately control the primary supply. On a public marketplace like eBay the best my strategy could hope for would be to delay the inevitable sale by a day (or few hours). At a more local level where the market is friends and friends of friends it could work. Two of my colleagues now have a much better chance of owning and playing a SNES Mini without having to entertain dancing with a scalper.
dringostarr1
1 Jul 17#174
I've been reliably told that those who really want a SNES Mini before Christmas will get one. Nintendo got the demand woefully wrong with the NES Mini and had to move onto Switch manufacturing upon realising it. After the higher than expected demand for Switch, producing more NES Minis became redundant.
But they know now the demand and I'm told they the pre-order allocation that retailers have already had is double the entire run of NES Minis. There will be stock. It won't be bountiful, but enough to go around.
slliw
3 Jul 17#175
Someone holla when these come back into stock.
Question, does anyone know if there be a way to buy roms for this via the Nintendo store or 3rd party?
Opening post
£10 under most retailers, £69.99 seems to be the RRP, 6% Quidco & Topcashback back also.
I did buy the NES Classic Mini when it came out but had no real excitement for it as it was a little before my time, I can't say the same for this amazing console 16-bit games tend to age alot better, I just hope Nintendo can add a few more games to the roster like Mario All-stars

Not really, just the 1 for me
Be very interesting to see how many nintendo have, and how long their pre orders last...
Or lady or course! :sunglasses:
FUGLY
However their games ran faster on their 60hz tv's and they didn't get deprived of Earthbound, Chrono Trigger Super Mario RPG etc etc. I would have quite happily looked at a robots backside to have played those as a kid!
Yay cant wait, I may be early 40's and balding but this is going to be epic!!!!!!!!!!!!
As soon as I saw this thread I went straight to the Nintendo site, added the SNES Mini to my basket, then couldn't remember by password to log in. Had to do a password reset, got back in, did a search for the SNES Mini, only to find that it had sold out - hence my comment above.
I was about to logout when I realised that the SNES Mini was in my basket... Placed the order, expected to to be met with "sold out", but it seems to have gone through...
My order is "processing" with the status: Awaiting Stock
Can anyone else confirm if this means I actually have one on pre-order?
*Note to self: Check junk mail first.

Unless Nintendo overproduce this (highly unlikely), any artificial scarcity would be due to scalpers
Mine says exactly the same as yours. Paid with debit card.
having said that my favourites are on the list except, unless I missed it, super bomberman. although you need it 4 player really.
And no bomberman! (probably couldn't get license from Hudson Soft) - Ninty don't like sharing profits!
i also signed up to the email but it landed in the junk, so again thanks for the heads up.
im happy with the line up of games...could have had turtles in time maybe.
You will need to source the ROMs separately, they wont be available from nintendo online store
Although it wouldn't surprise me if they've made that harder this time around. I hope not of course.
I would go pi but it would be nice to have quality official pads.
Just to be safe, I have also managed to order one with Smyths for in store collection - although it's £10 more - wonder if they will price match Nintendo - assuming £69.99 is the actual RRP

Keep your eyes out on VERY!
Very is £79.99 though , I wonder if they do a pre-order price Guarantee?

Regarding "Secret of Mana": originally, this was a three-player collaborative game - will it only be a two player collaborative game on the Mini SNES?
Sadly, I suspect that it will only be two-player...
But they know now the demand and I'm told they the pre-order allocation that retailers have already had is double the entire run of NES Minis. There will be stock. It won't be bountiful, but enough to go around.
Question, does anyone know if there be a way to buy roms for this via the Nintendo store or 3rd party?
