Seems to be the cheapest place for 2gb data. Different comparison sites seem to have different offers for the same network, this link via broadband choices is £5.99 for 2gb.
Also found: 2.5gb 700 mins £6.99 via MSE 3gb unlimited minutes £7.99 via uswitch 1gb 1000 mins @ £3.99 via MSE or uswitch
Clearly all comparison sites are not created equal.

Hi hsjluk
Thanks for posting. Do you have a link to this deal please and any more details e.g length of contract?
Thanks

Hi, its a 1 month contract and the 'get deal' link goes straight to it.

does this become a rolling contract after 1 month?

Does anyone know what happens when data is exhausted - do they automatically charge more and if so, how much?
Cracking deal, as long as there are not any catches with it, Ive never heard of the company though.

I came across them when I fell outta love with EE, when EE took over my THEN provider of t-mobile about 5ish years ago, and scrapped everything that was good about t-mobiles plans. I used them (TPO) as a stop gap, but I guess I got a better deal from Talk Talk at the time? DON'T LAUGH, we ALL make mistakes, anyway...they did the job, and considering yer not gonna tie yerself down (as with most) to a 12/18 or 24 month contract ( it's only 30 day's) it's gotta be worth a crack, AND as a bonus (to some) TPO will donate 10% of your bill to a charity of your choice...Cancer research in my case, so me thinks...WIN WIN

Personal feel people go to trustpilot to vent anger. Look at the ratings for other mobile operators like Vodafone, O2, Three, EE. They're worse! Not sure if you can pull anything meaningful from that site.

Great deal, so nice that they also pay some of their profits to charities.

Sorry to be a bit dim - never had to buy a SIM before as my mobile is through work, but I want to set my sons up with something cheap, mainly so they are contactable but with a bit of browsing, and don't want to find they have run up a massive bill using YouTube. The link is a bit hard to follow through. I think the text from here applies to this package - "Never miss a moment when your data runs out, just add-on some extra megabytes and you'll be back in the know! You can get 512MB data bolt-on for £3, 1GB of data for £5 or 2GB for £8." - anyone know is that applicable on these deals?
Does it mean when the original data runs out that's it for the month unless we opt in?
I'm confused because following the ts and cs through to the price plan suggests they add on 3p/mb after the allowance is used, which is £30/gb and it doesn't say anything to suggest it's opting in

How are TPO as an operator? Will I get hassle from them if I leave?
Is it just worth staying on 123 with Three?

When I tried to leave, there was no real person to talk to. I was advised by automatic message to use website to contact them. I did and I sent an e-mail. They didn't respond for two weeks, so I cancelled my direct debit. Next day I could't make a phone call or txt or anything although it was half through the month that I paid for and had so much allowance left.
Eventually after over a month someone dealt with it, but I had to email them five or six times (no response) and wait another two months for them to delete my account and stop invoicing me.

I took a look at all the main providers, and they all seem to stink. Mostly 1*

If it's your first time buying a SIM card I would recommend sticking with the big companies. This company communicates only online so you don't call them up. I have this and it's great, but if you're a novice it's nice to have someone on the end of the phone, possibly.

To cancel you email them. So I don't know how responsive they would be. I have this and they ported my number fine, so cancellations may be ok.

Your sons will rip through 2GB in no time at all on Youtube and you could possibly be lumbered with a massive bill.
I personally would look for a Plusnet one month sim only deal with more data and see how it goes for the first month or two, they allow you to put a spending cap on the contract as low as £1 so you won't get any nasty surprises.

If I remember correctly the minimum cap is £2 on plusnet, it used to be £1 when it was life mobile

No matter what deal, don't be tempted. You need to pay 50 pounds deposit to be able to make international phone calls, which they declare they return after half a year! There is no tethering.

Unknown company. Took the gamble on a £3.99 sim only monthly for wife. Switched over from Virgin, set up process was easy. Abit dated how they did the number change as I had to communicate via email rather than 1 simple request. Plus - get to choose free charity to donate to. Service so far so good as they use the 3 network. Another oddly thing I found was I had to pay the 1st months bill in advance with the card rather than DD

Bait and Switch experience with TPO for me.
I went for on a cheapo rolling 30 day deal with them a year or so ago. They increased the tariff within a few months to something definitely not competitive. So I left. They still owe me a few quid refund which has been written off.
I have two contracts for my kids with ID mobile. They can be difficult to deal with (nightmare trying to just change tariff) but at least there's no financial chicanery with ID.

The TPO deals looks good, and WAY better than TalkTalk's basic Sim only package of 250 minutes, unlimited texts (up from 250) and 300 MB (up from 150) @ £3.95 (down from £7.90)
I'm a TT customer, but just signed up to TPO (30 day contract, NOT 12 months, as is TT )...1000 minutes, 1000 texts and 1 GB @ £3.99....Details below were cut n pasted from the uSwitch.com site a few moments ago.
Oh, and as a bonus TPO will donate 10% of your bill to a charity of your choice, so WIN WIN, eh.
ENJOY

What happens if you try to tether to a laptop? Is there an Android app that can make it seem like the data is going to the phone and not via the phone to a laptop?

A week later and I am now up and running. They made a complete shambles of porting my number, was meant to happen Friday but didn't until late Monday, leaving me without my old number for the entire weekend. When I rang to ask what was going on didn't get very far, just told it can take up to 3 working days. Why? Every other network does it the next day. Also in pretty sure there's only about 3 people at the end of their phone lines.
But it's cheap, works (now) and signal at home is better than my old network.
