Received mine this afternoon.Looks a very high quality product,lovely finish / texture.. cannot register it at the moment as model number not listed under registration on Sharp website so will give them a call tomorrow, the support feet are quite fiddly, cannot seem to get them to fit, not enough detail in manual, f anyone else has managed this..please let me know :smiley:

The quoted noise level is very low 36dB(A) on this fridge freezer.
Is it noticeably quieter compared to other models?

As noted in my earlier posts, I've got the 700 model which is similar dimensions but a little larger inside. I have to say I never notice the sound from it at all, although it is quite enclosed within units which will probably quieten things down a bit.
Certainly the quietest fridge I've ever owned.

Great choice of fridge freezer......it is big for a one person....if it fits than you should totally keep it.......every time you get up and fetch something out of the fridge you would feel good about your choice.....the sheer glass is so classy when compared to any other white matte finish fridge freezers......Keep it and dont think about the running costs too much as its very energy efficient and falls into the same category as most other fridge freezers......enjoy life and dont think too much about £1.50 extra on energy costs.....life simply balances itself as you go along.......one word of advice focus on your biggest spend per month and target that instead of this and enjoy......welcome to the Sharp family !!!!

I seem to think that there were one or two 70cm wide fridges around when I was looking. Might be worth checking out one of those as they did have pretty good fridge capacities (though the freezers weren't so big). Just need to find yourself a good deal on one!

Yeah, I'll wait until something comes up now, was going to order the £209 Hisense , but I'll be kicking myself if it isn't big enough. Hopefully something around 70cm with a decent freezer will come up before September, don't think there's much of a chance it'll match the value for money of this one though!

Thanks a lot for all your help! As much as it pains me, as I really wanted a to enjoy a fridge this big (and for such a low price), I think I'm going to have to call and cancel my order today. If it won't fit down the stairs I'm taking a huge risk as it wouldn't be going in until late August/early September.
Really is a let down, but hopefully something else will come up!

I wrote a lengthy reply last night which my browser ate. Here's a precis:
The link to the manual shows what I mean - the feet at the bottom project almost to the front of the door and couldn't be detached as they are built into the whole chassis of the fridge.
No chance of measuring front to back, I'm afraid. It's a two man job to move it and I'd also probably need to empty much of the fridge to pull it out and I just don't have the time.
I can get a tape measure in the gap at the top and it is about 67cm from the back of the fridge body to the front of the door, but I'm not sure how far the compressor and cooling fins and the like stick out the back.
I seem to remember that the external packaging has a cardboard cover which slides off upwards. If you have enough space, you might be able to slide this up and measure the depth, I suppose, without removing the rest of the packaging? It was very sturdily packaged as you might expect for such a large and heavy device.

This page? , I don't suppose you could do me a huge favour and measure those feet to the back of the machine (or as close as you can get it/guess). I think the staircase to the kitchen is 73cm. The unit with the doors on is 73.5cm confused

I've looked in the manual and, unfortunately, I think you're going to struggle. No indication that it is possible to remove the doors (though screws are accessible, if you're feeling brave!). The biggest issue is that the front feet extend almost to the edge of where the door ends. Even if you took the doors off, the depth of the fridge would still be almost as large. There is a plastic cover which you attach at the front of the fridge to hide the feet and make it look more attractive.
I can upload a pic of the manual page which shows this if somebody can suggest an easy place to upload it!

No doubt it's great value for money, that's why I'm so interested, even if I purchased a standard size fridge freezer and an additional chest freezer, they would cost more to run than this would.

No..just the two of us.But bigger handy for storing drink especially and Sharp being more energy efficient and offering more storage than my current model quite appealing as well as the reduced purchase price seems a great deal on all fronts when compared to models around it at same price.

I think the Sharp model here is very energy efficient. I have the Hotpoint FFU4DX which looks massive but has a smaller fridge and a smaller freezer area than the Sharp model here so looks can be deceiving...but also costs more to run than the sharp model here looking at the specs if they are correct.Tempted to get this and gumtree the Hotpoint.

This is a great deal, but where I live it won't even fit up the stairs and through the kitchen door! I would recommend measuring and seeing if this will fit in your place before buying. I would have happily bought one, but alas it's not meant to be.

That would be a great help, I've gone ahead and ordered, but I can always cancel if the doors aren't removable, or I come to my senses and realise 380 litres in fridge space is way too much for someone living alone (although a house mate or partner may come in the future).
I've done some research into the price to run this machine and it seems it would be around £4.70 per month top end, based on 0.16p pence/kWh electricity cost. A smaller fridge freezer would be around £3.50 per month, what's making me feel uncomfortable is that if I don't use the space I'm going to be spending an unnecessary £15 a year.
Something else I've considered is the freezer space is larger than other fridge freezers, so hopefully I wouldn't need to purchase an additional freezer in the future, as I tend to freeze quite a lot. If this unit was weighted 40/60 instead of 30/70 it would be a much easier decision, I'd definitely utilise extra freezer space.
I know it isn't possible to swap which side the door attaches as you can with some fridges.
My kitchen units were built around my fridge to a degree and there is a wall to the side so I can open the door just past 90 degrees to access everything inside easily enough, but I can't get the door open far enough to pull the shelves out without pulling it out from between the units. Needless to say, the fridge is so massive that I haven't bothered with this, even though I think it would be useful for me to move one of them!
The fridge compartment is very big so plenty of room in there for anything you require - I've got a whole shelf of booze chilling in there all the time, even though I don't drink so much these days. I would say that there are perhaps too many shelves in there if you want to put larger items in the fridge though you can always remove one, of course. My main criticism is that LED lighting inside is pretty dim in comparison to previous fridges I've owned - unnecessarily so, in fact. I would also say that it doesn't seem to keep salad vegetables fresh as long as my previous Bosch fridge, or perhaps it just dries them out a bit more?
I need to nip home at lunch time so will take a look at the fridge then to see if it looks like the door can be removed.

Don't suppose I can be cheeky and ask if you could check your model and see if there's anything that indicates there would be any way to remove the doors?
Wanting to get one of these into my cellar kitchen, just it's a lot wider, and even greater in depth than the width of the staircase.
Also, I went down to Curry's today, they didn't have this model, but I struggled to find anything which compared in size (litre terms), apart from american styles. As someone living on my own, who enjoys cooking and preparing food for the week each weekend, would this thing be simply too big for one person? It seems good value for money for all the size you get

I've got the slightly bigger 700 model of this one though the freezer section is about the same size. Bear in mind that this is 80cm wide, instead of the standard 60cm so the freezer may look small but capacity is actually 150l which is pretty substantial.
You won't find many (if any) standard 60cm fridge-freezers with a bigger freezer capacity. American-style fridge-freezers only, in fact, and even some of them have freezer sections smaller than 150l.
Needless to say, the fridge section of these 80cm Sharp fridges are flipping massive!
Forgot to mention - heat from me. This is an incredible deal as I paid about twice as much for the 700 model last year and that one is currently going for around £800 or £900 if you can find them.
