Hot on the heals of bootle.buck's Hot Seiko kinetic watch deal which is now OOS, here's another nice watch at, I think, a terrific price. I prefer the style of this one, so happy to pay an extra £15 for it.

Great price for a handsome watch. Shame 44mm bezel would look ridiculous on my twig wrists

How can this not be hot? It's £123 even on Creation Watches!

This watch would look nice with a black nylon strap.

this is a great price for this watch, I bought it at the higher price a few weeks ago it looks even better in the flesh keeps great time and is easy to see the time if you have older eyes.

After saying some time ago that I should buy no more watches, I couldn't resist the price and I succumbed. Thanks Op  Bet the black ion coating scratches easily, oh well

I think it's pretty hard wearing no scratches yet, mine came with just minimal charge as expected so you'll need to give it a good old shake to get the six month reserve in it, strap was a little stiff at first but seems to be wearing in nicely after about six or seven days wrist time.
Enjoy, it really is a cracking price.

Decent deal.
Be aware it's quite a large watch so may not suit a smaller wrist.

Received mine today. A big watch - not for the small-wristed. But I love the look and quality feel of it. Very happy.

I received mine today also. It looks good and, bar a few fingerprints, pretty much new. My only concern is I can't seem to get the charge above one day - as in the second hand moves only five seconds when the power button is pressed. By shaking it vigorously I can get it to ten seconds which apparently means two days charge. By shaking my wrist, like a demented teenager who has just discovered internet porn, I managed to get it to twenty seconds - which means something like a weeks charge. But if I leave it a few minutes, it goes back to five seconds, when the power button is pushed. I don't think this is good. The serial number checks out to it being made in May 2015. As I understand it the Lithium Carbon cells in newer Seiko Kinetics are more powerful than the old capacitors but will hold only a charge for six months, and then be damaged if they are left uncharged. Has my watch been sitting uncharged in a warehouse completely dead for eighteen months? is this why they are so cheap? I'll wear it for a few days, but if it doesn't get better it's going back.

Let us know if it improves over the coming days. I was considering purchasing it as a main watch, used everyday, not sat in a box, so maybe it won't be an issue for me.

20 secs indicates over a months charge

Yep, but if, like mine, the watch displays one month charge after being shaken vigorously for several minutes, then shows only one days charge five minutes later, then the cell is clearly not holding charge properly and is faulty.

22 Jun 17#19
As I said earlier they have obviously been sitting for a while, mine took about a week of wearing and idle shaking to get the full charge.
You don't need to shake it too vigorously
If this concerns you then a kinetic is not for you!
mine doesn't drop below 20 seconds now and I wear it in rotation every couple of days

Yeah, they are obviously desperate to get shot of faulty stock.

The instructions say to swing the watch from side to side, twice a second, to charge. That's fairly vigorous.
If yours does not show full charge, 30 seconds on the display, after wearing it for a week, then surely the cell in yours is faulty also?
arch68
22 Jun 17#23
As I said I wear it in rotation, to be clear I haven't worn it more than two days straight it just took about a week to get to full reserve, the charging is consistent with my other kinetics and I'm 100% certain the cell isn't faulty.
I genuinely believe you're being a little impatient and hasty
We'll have to disagree on what counts as vigorous

Got an eBay alert for that this morning and bought one at breakfast time. I've got nearly as many watches as headphones now thanks to hukd.

I don't think it's going to improve. If I wear it all day it shows two days reserve, then if I check an hour or so later it shows one days. So I reckon the cell is failing, presumably because it's been sitting around uncharged for a year or two. It's a shame because it's a nice watch.

probably a bit overkill and unecessary in a new watch but I think the cells can be replaced

I have one it does exactly the same thing, can get it to the power up for 20 seconds, which is a month, give it 10 mins and it is back down to 5 seconds. Going back I'm afraid, I won't be wearing it everyday so can't be bothered if it can't hold the 6 month charge.
