I can not really see why this is cheap, fair enough its a good make but that is really quite heavy for a modern bike. M y old 2009 Trek is only 8.5kg and cost me £130 second hand.

I don't understand people posting comments on a deal they ain't interested in?!!
I bought a car 2nd hand for £500 - RRP of £20,000 when new. Not really a comment worth making unless I'm completely sad...
Even more sad when you continue to make these comments, have been called out on your complete lack of the ability to type - then you do it again....
Bit sad pal.....!!

Not really bud. I post deals - you don't seem to have in 7 years.
I don't post comments on deals I'm not interested in - you do - you enjoy it. Otherwise why bother?
You aren't really contributing anything useful to this deal so I am intrigued why you bother posting your superior knowledge?
I am a cyclist - wouldn't dream of posting anything like you - comes across a bit superior and ill informed but each to their own.
You know anything about this deal?!!

You seem very angry about a person pointing out that most road bikes have rim brakes.
Instead of reacting as you do, why not try to find out why most road bikes are so equipped, including all the ones ridden by professional riders, all the ones ridden by roadies at my cycling club and nearly all the ones ridden by recreational riders.

Dunno pal - what deals have you posted?
In the 7 years you have been a member?
Must make you feel special posting comments on deals you have no interest in. Must try it one day to make me feel like a big boy...
I'll try it out if my willy shrinks...

You mean to rim caliper brakes like a proper road bike?

How wide would the clearance be for tyres on this?

It comes with 28 so I'd guess 32 max
What's that - 8 bags of crisps over the quoted 10.8?
Any opinions on the actual bike or service from Start?

I've had one for a couple of months and when I weighed it I think it was more like 11kg (small).

I know! From experience buying bikes online they do chuck in a pair of plastic platforms along with reflectors and a bell - think it's a legal requirement for them to provide. I usually give these to a bike charity - or the bin!
I think it's against the law to not have reflectors on bike and pedals - laws really need updating in this country and attitudes need to change. Seems to be futile though. Cyclists are hated more than paedos on sites like The Mail haha!
As a result I'll probably waste my vote again on The Green party as they seem to be the only one with a cycling manifesto.
Wish I was in the market for a first bike as this would be at the top of my list based on specs and looks. Love the paintjob!!

BR-RS405 hasn't actually been released yet????
So you can't get hydraulic Tiagra (at least for a few weeks).

To what though?
If you want to keep it cheaper, you can fit trp spyres(mechanical), or hyrd and use your existing shifters. If you want to go full hydraulic, then it's a lot more.

About £50 to upgrade...

10.4kg ain't that heavy!
Got one heavier and one lighter (much lighter). The difference isn't all that.
Tiagra isn't that bad. But mechanical discs? Sorry, always going to be cold. Mechanical discs don't outweigh the downsides of using disc brakes. Hydraulic ones on the other hand...

Yes definitely not a lightweight - Guess having discs puts at least a Kilo on.
Fantastic looking bike though IMO
Emminently nickable too!!

Great price and heat added, but 'approx. weight 10.4kg / 22.93lbs' - better skip the kebabs or mtfu them hills!
