I get very surprised by how hot a deal can reach if it results in £5 saving for example. Yet, people seem to be happy to pay superinflated prices for everything. Smart phones now reach the £1000 mark! In my opinion, this stimulates corporates' greed and the prices will keep going up. I wonder how much is the profit margin for such a phone.

Thanks OP. Just ordered a new S8+ locked to O2 for £580 and sent an unlock request to O2 who have unlocked today

Ooh. Did you need to give any details to O2 other than IMEI?

How did you get the S8+ at such a low price? Did you get it in store? I found the price is £779 on their website.

Nope I was getting mixed messages though. I was told I would have to buy a SIM card and top it up £15 and then call them and they could unlock it. But I just logged into my account and tried sending a request to unlock it anyway, it registered my s8 + straight away, so I didn't even need to add my IMEI number as it had already picked it up in the system.
They unlocked same day for me so it was really quick and easy.
I should add, and I'm not sure if this has any significance, that I did pay off my S7 edge on the O2 refresh plan a few days before as I ordered the LG G6 and subsequently canceled as the phone looked boring compared to this (angel)

Thanks for the reply. Looks nice but my phone falls a lot so looking for something with more protection. I've just seen the neo hybrid crystal case - the clear one, but it doesn't seem to have a lot of reviews.

I upgraded to the 8 plus this week from the 7edge. It's a good phone. Let's not forget that Samsung reached the human limit of how many pixels we can see with the S6. Nevertheless video playback is astonishing. Try some 4k demos with hdr from YouTube as they will take away your breath.
I tried my phone side by side with my mates top of the range iPhone and the difference is simply amazing. Ive always thought that iPhone uses yesterdays technology. My note three looks better I video playback then the iPhone 7.
Battery life is much better on the 8 plus and mp3 playback is far superior.
I upgraded because it was time on my contract.
Phone manufacturers have taken phones (Apple will catch up with Samsung in five years) as far as they can. So it's mainly cosmetic changes now. Phones shouldn't really need 6gb of ram. It's a silly amount and only serves to push they price up artificially.
The 8 plus manages easily with 4gb and so it should.
Of course 4k screens are next but in the absence of any true 4k content it's a waste of time. Amazon and Netflix 4k streams are so compressed that they look worse than 1080p sometimes.
Anyway the eight plus is a good upgrade on a contract but If paying cash then go for the 7 edge. It's a stunning phone and not far behind the 8 plus and many years ahead of iPhones. And it's so much cheaper.

Good post let down by the childish Apple hate ! Apple will catch up and in some cases pass the S8 this autumn but both companies make great phones.

eGlobalcentral sends you international version (Asian/Chineese version) of phone.you are likely to have problems claiming warranty in the UK with those versions, also there are some compatibility issues with some UK mobile networks.
whereas this is UK company and sends you UK market model of the phone.
amazon.it is fine, they send European version which are identical to UK version except the plug shape.
That's the cheapest I've seen it on payg recently.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent case? I have a spigen hybrid (?) on my current phone but it scratched the phone in places. wouldn't mind another spigen but not sure which one!!

Not brand new site says - Grade A is like new and ships in our own branded boxes. They'll have no visible marks and have been fully tested.

Corporate greed? It's a business, not a charity. Their aim is to maximise profits. I don't see a problem with that.

The Missus got the S8 Phone for £483, or there abouts, from the Three outlet store in Banbridge. The plus could be a similar price. I am not sure where there are other Three outlet stores but I am sure there are a few. It will be locked to Three it still maybe cheaper to get it unlocked that the price above.

Actually three done lock phones anymore so it will be unlocked  on the odd occasion a phone does lock to three (usually iPhone as they lock to first network they use) three provide the code free of charge, this also applies to old phones locked on three

They confirmed to me that the new sealed product will have 2yr manufacturer warrenty. As they get it as a second hand product in theory they don't pay VAT so if you can reclaim VAT in what you buy it would not be possible in this case.
Got mine delivered today from smatfonestore, brand new in sealed box, very fast delivery :sunglasses: . I have been tracking this for a month. It was out of stock for 2-3 weeks.

If anyone finds a better deal please post the link
Not better deal but I think people may refer to amazon Italy where you can get this phone for slightly cheaper using correct card and also get 2 years warranty and of course amazon service.
This is my guess.
Opening post
Unlocked brand new in black.
