Seems like you're the one lacking intelligence if you can't understand that some people need 30gb of data.

Id have been all over this, but 3 is awful in our area (we live out in the sticks)
I had my eye on the S8 deal with O2. £27 a month, £75 upfront posted on here, so i cancelled the remaining 2 months of my EE contract last night and was ready to take out the O2 one, only to find that today, the code doesnt work now and the upfront price has gone up to £200. Charming
This is a brilliant deal if you can get 3 coverage.

Three 4g reception and download speed is poor in most places . They do not have sufficient 4g mobile bandwidth to support more users. But if you live with 3g speed network, it would be OK .

Great deal but 3 is a no for me personally due to local signal - they let me out of my contract free previously due to it. Hopefully the Vodafone 16gb deal gets close to this soon with the coral blue handset

You can get a 30gb data contract (edit: from 3) for £18pm so this is essentially £19pm for the phone. Over 24 months the phone will cost you £456. I doubt you'd get it new for less than that - hot.

I love it when people break it down like this! (Getting in before me!) This is a great deal, you have demonstrated why, it's not for me (prefer iOS, don't judge), but heat most certainly added!

Also its on the Essential plan, so no USA feel at home roaming, and costs to call the 3 call centre.

im with 3 just now .12 month sim only contract just ran out .can i transfer my existing number across from 3 to 3 ?
tobtan to rab4169
23 Jun 17#18
No, you need to unfortunately transfer your number over to another provider free PAYG SIM and then you transfer your number back to 3 once you receive the new SIM

Great, 99% of the customer don't need these plans. I don't know any intelligent person that jumps on such a rip-off deal.

I'm an accountant and consider myself a pretty intelligent person, I also go fishing and like to watch YouTube videos or sky go on my phone while spending nights away fishing. So am I the 1% you speak of or is it, just maybe, that your assumption of everyone else in the world based on your own usage, is wrong.

Guys.
I am looking at a s8+ with vodafone. 16Gb. Free phone. With a trade in for my old one its 35 per month. Too good to be true or are they legit? And previous experiance would be great. Thanks

Does 3 allow native WiFi calling or do you have to use their own app?
Ant59 to matt3454
30 Jun 17#42
I can confirm that this deal does not yield WiFi Calling. I went into the 3 store and they lied to me that I would receive specifically non-app-based, native WiFi Calling even with a 3rd party S8 on the network. I went ahead and ordered this deal only to find out after an hour back in the 3 store after arrival that they could not enable native WiFi Calling functionality. I have lodged a formal complaint and cancelled my contract. I am going to purchase the S8 on EE through mobiles.co.uk instead as EE assure me they don't require the phone to be bought from them as 3 do. I'm extremely disappointed for having been lied to and my brief encounter with 3 has left me with disdain for them.

They will do 15GB for same price if you call, existing customer anyway. Haven't taken the deal, but I was offered it this morning.

I'm currently on a 3 sim only plan, I've gone past the 12 months on it and have been waiting for a deal like this. After a 25 minute call to them to try and get them to match it turns out they couldn't for me. Could only do it for £43 but tried plenty of scaremongering about 3rd party dealers. They did say that at the end of the 30 day cancellation on my sim only they could just transfer the number over to my new contract to save porting to another network and then back again

as i though. i didnt bother to call them as its very impossible to match this deal from them i tried before. im on currently with them but sim only deal. this is my question as well how to transfer my old number to same network. hehe. thank you. im just waiting from mobiles.co.uk to reply if the 30gb deal includes personal hotspot before i grab this.

Just had the same 25 minute call with scare stories; finally they got down to £40 for the same deal. Since I have already ordered this I stuck to my guns but if you want to save a bit of hastle for £3/m plus the lost cashback you might want to call three first.
Hot deal!

A phone and an (almost unlimited) contract.
If you want to play that game I bet you were paying £20 a month in the 90s to BT for line rental and calls using a binatone phone with range of up to 5ft from the receiver.

Cold cos its "Essential Plan" it does not include roaming.... I used my phone in Paris, internet (its cost me extra,) since my is Essential Plan" hotspot??? I don't know if that is included in Essential Plan
herby247 to leeds2000
25 Jun 17#35
Roaming in ALL of Europe is included with ALL UK networks, (has been since 15th June), this includes Three's Essential plan.
Essential doesn't include the USA that feel at home do though.
herby247
25 Jun 17#34
Same i am on sim only £20 p/month unlimited everything direct with Three, they do NOT like you comparing them to the 3rd party resellers, and will not match them or even attempt.
For me personally feel at home is a big deal, and enjoy using it in the USA, but EE Max are now doing USA roaming too, but the drop in data to them is like 8GB p/month, when your used to unlimited and blazing 20GB per month thats a tough move!

Rang three (I've been with for 4 years on rolling contract)... Best they could do worked out £1200 over 2 years. Really rude foreign call centre scaremongering about t&cs with 3rd party dealers etc. Made a complaint, cancelled my current rolling contract... And for £12 more a month I get an s8. Happy days! Thank you OP.
Oh and £42 top cashback

Wifi Calling is possible, you need to flash to Three Stock Rom (Doesn't void warranty - no issues).
I got this deal, stock rom is G950FXXU1AQF7 (Unbranded) - you need to flash it with G950FXXU1AQDJ (H3G Three Network). If you are with EE but on Unbranded you can use G950FXXU1AQDG (EVR).
These are stock - official roms, no root...

Yes but RPI is never more than 2% and if you order now, the price will go up once, after about 12 months
at a typical RPI of 2% your bill is going to go up by 74p/month for a year. Maybe add £10 to the £888 total cost of contract to be safe!
Opening post
No upfront cost
