consoles can't get over 60fps, so the 144hz is a waste

To save time, for anyone else wondering: the display tech is not LED, as stated, but VA LCD.

VA at 1ms? I thought VA was like IPS not TFT. Be kind...It may have become clear that I don't know what I'm talking about.

Would I be able to do 3d with this from a PS4? The refresh rate looks high enough but I'm not sure how I would go about driving the active shutters on the glasses. Clearly I'm on a budget here..I'm looking to do some gaming while still feeding my children.

You'd have to buy two and put them side by side. Look at one with each eye :stuck_out_tongue:

Not necessarily true depending on the current display. It may offer better response times and less motion blur. I'm not sure if this monitor allows single strobing at 60hz though. It will off course give better results with a PC that can run games at 144hz at native resolution.
Does this mean I would need a better gfx card go see the 144hz benefit? Without vsync capping it at 60fps, my game runs barely higher at around 65-75fps anyway so thats all my gfx card can do on my preferred detail settings...
So would 144hz be a pointless benefit if my gaming fps rate isn't able to get even close to this?

If your only getting 65-75 then yes you would still benefit from a 144hz monitor as you would be within the freesync range so no screen tearing.

You have a Nvidia card so you wont be able to take advantage of freesync.

Check the review by Summer Fruits on Amazon (should be the first one), might still be ok for Nvidia cards....
