John Lewis have dropped the price on this bad boy + you get the 2 year cover, which is always nice. Really like the stand on this one. It has 2 x HDMI, Display Port, Headphone socket.
Decent option if you're not wanting a larger res panel / or don't have the gear to drive a higher res panel and make use of that 144Hz rate. It does carry Freesync as well, which should smooth things out with gaming. Oh yeah, response time is 1ms, if you were wondering

Seems a good price compared to the most obvious sellers.
Curved 24in is pointless and degrades image quality, unless you sit 1ft from the screen.

A curved 1080p monitor? Why?

Why do most monitors carry AMD FreeSync instead of NVIDIA G-Sync? The amount of monitors i see on this site and they're all awesome spec and great looking but have AMD technology over my preferred NVIDIA.
\x0d\x0a\x0d\x0aThe hint is in the name.. FreeSync doesn't cost the manufacturer anything, G-Sync has licensed tech, which costs $$. Opensource will win the war on this one, as monitor prices are a race to the bottom.

G-Sync is proprietary so manufacturers have to pay heavily to include the tech in their monitors, which has pushed it into the £400+ monitor bracket. There may be extra development and production costs too with G-Sync too, I'm not an expert on monitor technology.

The reason AMD FreeSync monitors are more common than Nvidia G-Sync monitors is due to the difference in implementation, licensing and suitability of price point.
G-Sync requires the uses of a proprietary chip in the monitor to achieve the anti-tearing capability. Whereas FreeSync does not, it achieves it on the GPU via the adaptive abilities of Display Port. This means the cost of implementing G-Sync is more (more hardware + license cost to Nvidia) and thus companies can only justify this cost on higher end gaming monitors where they CAN charge more and consumers ARE WILLING to pay more for a premium product.
Over time, I would expect more mid-tier gaming monitors to feature G-Sync but it may a while.
Freesync is free for companies to use in their monitors, g-sync requires a nvidia chip which they have to pay nvidia for which increases the costs of monitors so it's easier for companies to use Freesync as they don't have to pay for it and it makes them more money.

I have 2 lower spec Samsung 24" curved monitors rigged up for my home office. Much better than flat screens.

This is a really good monitor for the price, VA panel, 144hz, freesync... don't think you can get a better gaming monitor for this price.

It's a VA panel. So better than TN imo. I've got it. 35 days to return if not happy with it. So far so good. Stand is balls though can't have it up against the wall so bear that in mind.
