I'm tempted but got far too much to play at the moment. I've a 1440p laptop so be interesting to see what this looks like on it.

Consoles have never been more time consuming and complicated to setup to play a game. PC has never been as simple and easy as they are now. It's not 1998 any more for either platform.
PC already offers various software scaling options. The advantage is you aren't forced to play a given game how the developers mandates you.
If the ultimate aim is 4K on this game, you can achieve that with 30FPS and actual genuine native 4K with a mid range card like a GTX1060/RX 580 if you give up a handful of settings from their very highest .
Which PS4 Pro also has to do anyway just to manage 1800p and quite often, sub 30FPS gameplay....

Sure, I know there are benefits to that freedom but I sometimes wish PCs could inherit some of the pick up and play ease of use of consoles too e.g. most PC games are terrible at autodetecting settings and even Nvidia/AMD driver options for optimising games fail to pick optimal settings. I really think things like Forza Horizon 3s dynamic resolution options should become standard so you can just tell it to target a certain resolution that is optimal for your display and let the game engine take care of the rest, otherwise you can end up spending more time tinkering with settings than actually enjoying the game you want to play!
And I know PS4 pro doesn't do true 4K in most games but checkerboard rendering is generally so good it doesn't matter unless you comb over every pixel, which you aren't going to be doing in a console setting. Again, really wish PCs had checkerboard rendering to help squeeze the best performance possible from GPUs but I guess if they did Nvidia and AMD couldn't push out a new GPU every year as existing cards would hold their ground that much better...

Of course you would need to have capable (and expensive) hardware to run this at 4K. That is a given.
Also, not hating, but the PS4 is actually not a 4K console. Its hardware is a very capable 1080p upscaled to 4K. The Xbox One X will essentially be a an upscaled 1440p. They are still very impressive machines given their sizes and prices, but the marketing is misleading.
That being said, if you don't like tinkering with settings on PC games, Nvidia and AMD both have included software that automatically tweaks your graphics settings per game so that it runs smoothly on your hardware.
At the end of the day, it's about the games. Console or PC... forget the technicalities. Pick your poison and enjoy

I would pick Pc gaming over console for the pure raw, uncapped power. I was just stepping into a discussion really.:man:

Except this doesn't run at true 4k on the PS4 Pro. It runs at 1800p and it's highly likely that a 970 could pull that off if you were only aiming for 30fps.
What you're essentially criticising here is the very heart of PC gaming. PC gaming gives you the choice to tweak the game to your tastes whereas console games are dictated to you.

You do if you don't have the correct hardware, then you would need to make compromises to run this at playable 4k/30fps. Which is what I'd expect ST3123 is comparing his PS4 pro vs PC argument on.

Very tempting price. Think I'll hold out a bit longer though and would probably ultimately go for the PS4 version as it makes good use of the PS4 Pro. I know the PC one might ultimately still be a tiny bit better on a fast PC, but at least the PS4 Pro one gives you nice 4K visuals with no faffing, where as on PC you always have to mess around with settings till you get the sweet spot between graphical fidelity and frame rate.
Heated but be aware that CDkeys now only allow a couple of uses of the 5% facebook code so if you want to keep using it you have to keep making new accounts, utter dick move by CDkeys but still a hot deal....

Tempted, but I'll hold out until I have time and pay about half - such is the wealth of quality games out there that I have yet to play!
So many options, so few hours in the day.

To be fair, the PC version is on a whole other level as long as you have fairly decent hardware.
