Hi all, not bothered about hot or cold. Looking for some honest opinions as my brother is looking for a small 10bit tele. This seems to fit the bill even though a refurb.
Good or not before he pulls the trigger!

I would make sure to get a 5 year warranty on TVs I know majority of the time TVs don't go wrong but now they're software based anything can happen. I know you'd get the 10 year burn in warranty from Samsung but not sure that will apply to refurb products. I think the ks9000 new for £849 with 5 year warranty is a better option. I know it costs more

Thanks for the response. Bit out of range for him but point taken. Cheers

I bought the JohnLewis showroom model 55" KS7000 for 599 with 5 year warranty. It is quite shocking how good this TV is. I have been back to JL a few times to compare the OLED (double the price) with the KS7000. I honestly believe this TV is far better in most aspects. I find the OLED to be muddy a bit red and grainy and dull.
10 year burn in warranty's just dirty marketing from samsung, they say that to convince people that OLEDs have a burn in issue but they don't, you might get image retention but never burn in

Apart from the curve its a perfectly fine set. Although 4k at 43" seems pointless to me

This is the set I wanted and this is a good price...I do want 'new' though and I know now with less and less of these around I may aswell wait for the 8000/ 9000 series to drop in price. Good find and heated. If ya bro has the money ready and cannot wait, squeeze that trigger! (y)

You won't get 10bit for less, can anyone prove that statement wrong!? :man:

People game on 27/ 28 inch 4k monitors so I think 43" will be just fine. Curved is good imo. I am quickly changing my mind on getting one now rather than later ...

True but you are probably 2ft away from a 27/28" screen when gaming. More likely to be 20ft away from this which for me makes it hard to tell between 4k and 1080. Not a reason to avoid this telly though, at this price a steal.

I have this TV, Used almost exclusively for gaming and it's great. True 10bit HDR and 4K. Good price even if it is a refurb.

Ye that's pretty much what he will be using it for and Netflix. Cheers.

I should have pointed out that all the 2016 & 2017 TV's have an issue with the HDR profile in gaming mode i.e. The backlight does not auto increase and has to be done manually. A bit of an annoyance but people are hoping that Samsung will fix it with an update.

I've got the 55in ks7000 and I think that's the same. Haven't had a software update for it since I got it.

Personally wouldn't touch Samsung tvs with a barge pole,
Last one I had started to break out in colour blotches just after the twelve month guarantee.
Samsung didn't want to know.

You bought a dirt cheap one, didn't you? My midrange is seven years going strong.

The 43" model has a 60Hz panel / screen compared to the larger KS7500's which have a 120Hz panel.

a bit pointless going for a 4k set at this size, good for HDR tho
you'll have to sit really close to notice any difference compared to a 1080p set

i sent a ks8000 back because of the motion/ black smearing effect (black trail behind moving objects)
Thanks I'll let him know as he has gone ahead and bought too. I'll use these on my ks7000 too. I thought it looked a bit weird. Enjoy!

Had one for about 6 months now, great tv. The PS4 Pro looks great on it, and never noticed input lag with any console I've hooked up to it, Xbox One, switch and ps4 pro as already mentioned. The curve is fine as well, wasn't sure about them at first, but no complaints now.
Also as mentioned, you'll be hard pushed to find a 10bit display for that size and price. Looking at this years models, don't think they even bother with 43" now?
It also does a good job upscaling HD and SD material.

Thanks OP - I've been waiting for this to come down to £500 (and this is close enough) - yeah, I get that 43" ins't to everyone's taste - but that's the size I want; and as far as I can see, this is the best TV you can get for that size.

Curved may not be for everyone, but just pulled the trigger on the UE49KS9000 refub - £719 + 10% for VIP club (code: vip10) -> £647 with the VIP club 6 year warranty.
Throwaway comment that purchasers will be 20ft away. You may be, I may not be. What about the next man. ffs

I paid £800 last week for the 49" (open box). This is a good deal on a great TV for gaming. I have it connected to my PC, and whilst I'm 100% happy with the lack of colour options in PC mode, it is still very good. I only replaced my previous Samsung because it died after 10 years.

If my lounge was that big, I'd be getting a bigger screen
I'm about 6-7 feet away and it looks just fine

I know, hate those comments. He is at home with the parents anyway so it's only going in his room. He will be within 4 feet of it so will be fine.

I'm not sure I warrant that level of analysis for simply saying that someone watching a 43" telly is more likely to be 20ft away than 2ft away.
I was positive about the deal, I simply offered some advice based on my personal opinion and experience.
If you want to sit 6ft from a 43" TV then that's your choice, I personally wouldn't but would instead buy a smaller TV if I was positioned this close as it would be a better viewing experience.

No worries fella. Although I said I didn't like that type of comment it's good to get feedback from both sides. But ye, he is going to be close up so won't be an issue.
