It seems to me that Sony are killing sales because I can't be the only one who will only consider buying a Pro, and who is holding out for a sexy LE.

My PS4 sounds like its about to die (original day one release), but if I was to buy a new one then it would have to be the pro.
I dont understand why they released these new colours on the older model and not the pro?
Also I see that the standard black version is £20 cheaper on the same site, surely thats a better deal.

I got ps4 with extra pad and a latest game few weeks ago for £199 from John Lewis. Not sure it's worth extra £50 for gold with a old £15 game inc

Same reason why people buy the slim and not the pro. I don't know if you know but pro sales didn't go very well when it released. With the choice of the pro or slim before I went for the slim as I didn't see myself using 4k at all in the future at the moment and I don't think the extra cost was worth it for the extra fps either.

Take the bottom cover off and clean the fan and heatsink with compressed air. It's easy. Mine was silent like day 1 when I got rid of the tonne of dust in it as before that it sounded like a jet engine. Its starting to get louder again since I cleaned it last year though.

gotta love some of the comments on here slating the pro , yet according to sales data every 1 in 5 ps4's sold is now the pro version.
I wouldn't call that a flop considering the thing has hardly been advertised. But hopefully come the release of the new xbox we will start to see some limited editions of the pro?

I bought the silver console from said store. It runs insanely hot just streaming and when a game disc is inserted you could cook something on there too. Not advisable in the hot weather. Not sure if this is common to all versions of Slim model? All ports are really tight and awkward to get cables in and take out. I have the launch PS4 and never had a problem with it overheating. I' m trying to organise a refund. Very disappointing - just sharing experience.

Maybe the silver coating doesn't disperse heat very well? I don't get much problems with my normal black ps4 slim.

I'm not sure really. I don't have a black slim so I can't compare it really, but will say when I initialised it for return, it did go really, really, warm and the HDMI cable was hot to touch when I disconnected it. They seem to have positioned the HDMI close to the rear fans on the Slim model. I think the hot air heats it up? However, I did get a refund which is good news.
There is a video explaining that the console is warm and not overheating

Thanks. I had watched these guys vids. I can only suggest it got "insanely hot" when gaming and "really warm" when streaming, or initialising. Maybe I just got unlucky? It is frustrating, because I look ahead and see my upgrade options out of the window for the moment. I am really unlucky with Argos bought consoles. They see me coming and get out the stuff everyone else took back lol
