You can buy as a non member however I believe there is a 5% surcharge which makes this not as good of a deal in that instance.

The Pro pretty much is a write off! Less than 20% of PS4 sales are Pro, many of which are people upgrading, and they don't know what to do with it, there's no direction. They've pushed the 4K aspect which lets be honest, is total bull crap with the specs it has. They'd have sold far more of them if they'd put more emphasis on improvements to 1080p. Most people want higer framerates, not resolution that continues to run at 30fps and often below with slowdown on many games. As usual with Sony hardware, they haven't a clue what to do with it. There's just not enough reason for the majority who already own a PS4 to upgrade. With a million VRs sold too it's not enough to push devs to make more games for it. They only got a march on Xbox thanks to their disastrous E3 launch which they never recovered from. And I'm a Sony fan!

I think the reason they pushed the 4K instead of the boosted 1080p (which, I agree, is more appealing to me and most gamers) is that unfortunately in this day and age we have the whole 'bigger is better' mentality, especially in the mass market. Hence why so many shockingly bad '4k' televisions are sold that are no better than some 1080p TVs. Bigger numbers get more interest regardless of the actual quality of the product. Cameras and megapixels are a prime example too.

Lmao funny to read all the Xbox fans already writing off the Pro based on sparse specs. I'm pretty sure i read the same rhetoric when the last MS "release " was going to topple the PS4 of it's perch!

I understand - but there will be a market for high end consoles, they will miss out if they don't release a console to rival Scorpio

Microsoft have to actually catch up with Sony's sales before they need to worry about Scorpio.

Sony pretty much have to create a rival console to the Scorpio, the Ps5 is likely to be out November next year, just makes sense

Good price but when the Scorpio hits I think you will see sub £199 deals on these.

Is the pro really worth getting at this stage? I would have to buy a 4K tv/monitor to go with it too... Just seems like a lot of money when no doubt the Ps5 will be out next year in November

Have a friend who has a pro and a decent huge 4K tv. Playing some games, horizon, wipeout, tomb raider etc it does look like a big improvement. If you haven't got a 4K tv, I probably wouldn't jump on it as yet, difference would only be very marginal. Be interesting to see the Scorpio in the next few days at E3. See how more advance it is to the pro. Personally think Sony have the better games, exclusives etc. Can't see a PS5 personally until early 2020. Either way, E3 should open our eyes a bit.

I heard from an industry outsider the PSG (Playstation Gemini) will be released in time for Xmas. They would however not specify which Xmas... :man:

Probably the best if you don't have the games, but no if you do have the games already. CEX buys Horizon for £17, WipEout Omega for £13, Tekken 7 for £32 and Project Cars for £8 (Total £70, so the Pro would be just £309.99 which is standard for a bundle deal)

This must be the best Pro deal yet?

10 Jun 171#8
I think so. Even if someone doesn't want Tekken and Project Cars for example, CEX pay £40 cash for them which brings it down to £339.99.

Not a bad deal, the pro offers 1080p over nearly 900p on the standard PS4 for Tekken 7, and project cars runs at 55fps through boost mode over 40fps on the standard PS4.
Plus wipeout is native 4K at 60fps with HDR on the pro, HZD looks stunning, checkerboard 4K with HDR.
