Humans messed up dogs, not nature. Although messing with stuff is part of human nature so you're right, in a sense.

Got one of these from amazon for one of ours called Ronald, he has a really bad heart and has a hard time cooling down, its great because fat lump loves lying on it! Might get another from B&M as the price is under 1/3 of what we paid from amazon.
If you're on the fence get one they could save your dog from some serious stress in these 34 degree+ summers

Another way to save your dog from serious stress is not to walk it in the 34 degree heat like so many seem to do. Walking a dog in hot weather isn't good for it. In the wild animals choose to lie in the shade, not go walking around in the blazing sunshine - some owners are idiots!

Bought a similar one on Amazon market place last year for now than this. Dog liked it so bought the B&M version. She usually chooses to sprawl herself over it when hot so it must feel cooler than the carpet (she's a long haired German shepherd)

This is useful as my wife's puppies are too hot to handle in this heat and there's enough room for my schnauzer to wriggle between them.

My lab deliberately lays in the sun and pants, when it is free to lay on nice cold kitchen floor tiles or quarry tiles in the washroom. My other lab did this too, he would just love sprawling out on the lawn in the sun, then coming in for a drink then back out.

My mum always stops the car when it is 'blazing' and sees a dog walking, she asks the owner if they want a drink of water; most of the time the let her but there has been the occasion where they take offense to it. She always says that the owner has a drink for themselves but rarely for the dog. I still don't know if it's through knowledgeable negligence or blissful ignorance, but at least they aren't stuck in a car with all the windows shut hey?
