Thanks to the OP and commenters in this thread, I upgraded the deal slightly and went for the Time Steel (ebay - £79.99 - laptopoutletdirect), and love it. Great functionality for the price, looks good, and is easy to use. Only downside so far is the rather drab grey strap which looks like it'll get shabby very soon.
I had the original Pebble and this feels like a big improvement - also feels like a good watch with notifications and step counter - rather than a fitness appliance with watch and notifications added as an afterthought (which is how I found Fitbit to feel). I'll wear my MiBand 2 on the other wrist and see how similar the step counts are....

Did some reasearch after reading some of these comments about 'Amazon's warranty'.
From what I found, Amazon gives NO warranty for products not already covered by a manufacturer warranty. Given that the manufacturer no longer exists, this obviously has no warranty. Amazon do appear to have a repair service, but one has to pay for repairs if product not under manufacturer warranty.
So beyond the 30 day returns period, you have no recourse if any issues arise. Anything goes wrong, you have a £50 paperweight.

can anyone explain what the loss of the servers has and will do. I just want notifications and a watch in the interim whilst I wait for android wear 2.0 watches to drop below 200

I replaced my LG G Android watch with one of these the last time they were less than 50 quid, and I'm still using it.
I still really miss being able to do things like saying "set timer for 20 minutes" to my watch, but the ability to actually see the display clearly in bright daylight is actually quite handy at the moment, and it really does last at least a week between charges. I also like not having a touchscreen - the LG G watch had a really bad habit of thinking it was being touched whenever it came in contact with rain or wet clothing... although the obvious downside is that your can't interact with this one using your nose!

You can download them from here: apps.getpebble.com/en_…rue, just run the downloaded .pbw files from your phone and they're installed on to the watch.

contact the seller before buying and ask them to confirm they will replace or refund if faulty in the first year. I bought the Pebble Time Steel in Feb and did this before buying. I would recommend getting the Pebble Time Steel over this, some places on Amazon are selling it for about £80.

Depending on where you live you could get it tomorrow if you buy from Laptop Outlet for just 2p more. For me, it'd be delivered on Monday for £47.97 or Sunday for £47.99.

These have been 35 on Cex for a while. You get Cex warranty but Its hit and miss on quality I guess as they have so many listing's with different grades.

Yea your right. I'm sure amazon would sort something out. But the war went from them used to be great, I had the various ones I had over the years replaced in 2 days when I had an issue.

Thanks to MODs that changed this from my illegible hasty post into something decent! I've been looking to replace my moto360 so have been looking for a while. this will do as a stop gap until the new smartwatches get their battery life sorted!

It's a great smart watch, I've had mine for ages. BUT there will be no warranty or support as they are sadly no more!
