An engineer told me, before he died (no, it's not that song), that he'd worked at Mars confectionery when Mr Mars used to visit the shop floor. He'd pull a Topic bar from the line, and slice into it with his pocket knife. If he hadn't cut through a hazelnut, he'd stop the line, reject the batch, and somebody would face a telling off.
