I wouldn't say it's ugly, it's copying Vertu's style which are the most expensive and sort after phones in the world.

Its a good phone, but pretty niche, its only selling point is the battery... is there anything you get from this that a normal phone + £20 portable charger wouldnt get you?

You buy this for the battery life. It has plenty of it. Apart from that. Ugh

The fact that most phones are starting to look the same these days or trying to look like iPhones in part, this looking the way it does isn't exactly a bad point in my book. Still, too big for my pocket though.
And that battery, wow....

The battery life isn't really that impressive, these phones are a con imo. Really horribly inefficient chipset is masked by that battery. Most people are better off getting a Note 4

i have the leagoo shark with a 6300mah battery, bought pre sale last year for £70. just ordered this one for £143. I have been very happy with the battery life of the leagoo.
don't know much about the note 4 but I'm guessing it will cost slightly more than this one.
I know it's down to personal preference but I prefer a phone that I won't be too gutted if I broke it or lost it.

I somewhat disagree. This seems to get 5 days on one charge. Can you do even half that on a Note 4? Surely not! Yes, the performance of this is worse, but battery life seems fantastic! https://9to5google.com/2017/06/12/oukitel-k10000-pro-review/
Prices charged for the Samsungs simply seem like daylight robbery to me. My Xiaomi Redmi 3S (4000mAh, nice and small as well!) easily gets me through 2 days of moderate use and cost a tiny fraction.
The only reasons to go for a Note 4 vs. a Chinese phone is the software and the warranty. I wouldn't bet on this phone getting updates for long and if it does it'll probably be fiddly to install. And I had too much trouble flashing my Xiaomi Redmi for my taste.

Looks as thick as a Snickers bar and the back design is truly something to behold...
That being said, it would be great if every phone could get a battery like that in it.

Doesn't compare to the Huawei Mate 8 battery.. only 4000mah battery but lasts for 2 days easily with moderate use, facebook, emails etc

how are you comparing it? do you have both.
I have looked and it seems the mate 8 doesn't even beat the old oukitel k10000, so I don't think it would compare well to this.

I don't understand people slagging this phone. At least Oukitel and the other Chinese manufacturers are trying something new and target niches in the market.
With Samsung, Sony, LG, iPhone ... you always get the same sh**. A tiny battery and/or a too large phone, and more pixels (what for???) and less battery life. Why can't they produce a 4.5-5" phone with great battery life? There's plenty of Chinese phones that can compete (ZTE, Xiaomi, Huawei/Honor) and offer better battery! Just the software sucks.

personally I usually buy a couple of phones a year, so if it lasts me over a year for £140 I'll be happy.
the leagoo shark I have now is a year old and been a great phone for £70 on presale
