Not great. They have the OLED55B6V for £1299 which is around a £100 saving from new but the trade off is you are getting a used item and losing 4 years warranty.
Didn't they used to discount the clearance items by 10% for VIP members anyway? or is the discount code just at certain times of the year, promotional periods now?.
But the prices I'm seeing at items I've looked at are mainly comparable to more like 10% off the new price with 6 year warranty yet now only 12 month warranty with no known history for if or why the item was returned or sold as clearance at all!. If a further 10% off again for certain, some items would be a good deal, though I'd be somewhat concerned about any long term cover on such items or what the return & refund rights are on such items in the first 12 months?.

Hi John,
Whilst I appreciate your offer to resolve my previous issue/s, unfortunately I have lost all sense of trust in the company you represent and the products that they stock. Could you blame me after having to deal with the following over the years:
Grado SR-80 Headphones (Brand new) - Headband fell to pieces after TWO HOURS usage.
Denon DVD player (Open box) - Refused to play multiple discs, replacement player exhibited same fault.
Pioneer blu-ray player (Open box) - HDMI output stopped working after player had been on for half an hour of play time. Sales assistant couldn't care less about the fault details thereby meaning this item very probably went back on sale without testing or repair.
Marantz Pm6005 (brand new) - No sound output, over a months waiting time for repair, repaired item exhibits same fault. Had to pay for transport and parking multiple times to take back/pick up/take back the amplifier.
The ratio of faulty purchases to items that lasted past their warranty without issue was unacceptably bad. I'm sorry to say I won't take that chance again with Richer Sounds.
Thanks for your time.

Hi there,
I was sorry to read you’ve had issues with an item you previously purchased from us, and also that you weren’t happy with the solution offered by my customer service team.
Customer Service is paramount to us so it’s of course disappointing to read of any occasion where we have a dissatisfied customer. If you’d be kind enough to send me a PM with all the details then I’ll happily look into the matter further and ensure we resolve to your satisfaction.
Many Thanks

I did see a Q Acoustics 7000i for £449 the night the clearance started online, with the 10% off that would have been second hand eBay prices but with some warranty. So odd good prices.
Personally waiting on a refurbished 7000i Plus instead off eBay to get the better subwoofer.

Managed to bag a 49" KS8000 for £700.
Can't moan at that! They 2017 "QLED" version is just over £2k!

I hate it when people use their one off experiences to talk down a post on here, but quite honestly, over the last few years I've had nothing but hassle with items purchased from Richer Sounds. The last item, a brand new, not open box Marantz amplifier simply stopped outputting sound after barely being used for a couple of months. I mean barely, I live in a flat and I'm not that keen on blaring music through speakers.
Took it back, they said they'd get it repaired. No word on it for an age. Eventually it was returned back to store 'repaired'. Took it home to find that it was in exactly the same condition with exactly the same fault!
After checking my consumer rights I demanded a refund.
The trouble is that when it comes to open box items, the stores seem indifferent to fully checking them, even when you tell them what the fault is and how long it takes to show itself. I've seen items I've returned be put back on sale within a short while, knowing they couldn't have had the chance to get it repaired.
Even though their customer service department offered me a vague discount on my next purchase after the Marantz debacle, I simply cannot bring myself to buy anything from them again.

My local store has a set top box reduced from £159.95 to £159.00 so I think I'll pass.

Yay, more 'open box' returns of faulty items that have been poorly repaired (if they've been repaired or ever tested).
After too many years of getting faulty equipment (be it open box or brand new) from my local Richer Sounds, I'd rather pay the premium and go somewhere else.

Do be careful to google to make sure you're actually getting a decent deal on any of these products, if you're thinking of buying anything. A quick look at a few offerings at my local Richer Sounds shows that they're following the same trend as last time, and offering deals which vary between being slightly discounted to being around 10% more than what their competitors charge for new products.

RRP prices are unrealistic, maybe when those items first came out, but not now.
