Great game, well worth the price got a bit burnt out grinding for gear though :disappointed:

I loved Ninja Gaiden on the old Xbox, but couldn't get on with how slow Dark Souls' combat is. Is this somewhere in between?

Definitely! Especially the "special moves". While they do feel like they cheapen the Souls formula they're definitely more Ninja Gaiden-esque.

Is this more difficult than Dark Souls/Bloodborne?

No. It's slightly more unfair to the player and has massively broken hit boxes with some of the bosses (looking at you Gasha-Dokuro) but it's not harder. You will find going back to Souls or Bloodborne like running in treacle after playing this on the "action" mode at 60fps or thereabouts! I'm properly struggling to get back in to DS3 dlc after completing this as it feels so damn slow!

No. If you're familiar with those games, you'll be fine.
I liked it a lot, but it's got issues in the long term. The game gets very repetitive, you fight the same enemies in the the same environments over and over... you get loot dropping so often you're just overwhelmed by it and it doesn't feel like anything is really worth an upgrade as you can just button mash on a fast attack to kill pretty much every normal enemy. There's so many systems and items that just feel completely pointless as all you need is a sword and the ability to dodge.
If they do a sequel and balance it right, it'd be awesome.
If it drops to the £15 range I'd be tempted to get it again though.

Virtually NO point in my getting this personally although I do REALLY want to play it. At this current point in time though way too busy with Tekken 7. Wipeout, Horizon and (soon) Crash Collection not to mention the potential onslaught of game announcements post E3 :stuck_out_tongue:
Best to wait for the inevitable GOTY edition, realistically not gonna have time to play this lol

It's a great game especially if you love souls games . The combat system is excellent and perhaps even better than souls but the lvls are a bit dull all being a variation on cave , forest , small Japanese village . Bosses also feel like they have too much health at times and are a bit spongy , but arnt too bad once you learn their moves

Yeah, I think you're right. Not even Base is willing to match it at this price, so I ordered myself a copy. Cheers!

finally hit my biting point! Always been unsure about this game as not a dark souls fun but it looks so good. Worth a punt now

It's holding high everywhere else, so it may be a bit of a flash deal. They're probably pushing the PSN digital deal at £34 for the base game due to better margins.

Can combine with the discounted season pass on PSN (£13.99 or less via top-up at cdkeys.com)
