£49.99 is a price holder... Have you tried calling those two stores OP?! This is an imaginary deal.

Poor and cold deal, the nerds that work in Game were clueless.

Ha ha - Yeh I bet he will. In fairness he was on the phone for 20 minutes trying to find me one. It's mostly young gaming enthusiasts that work at these stores so can't really blame them for snapping up a good deal. I'd do the same if I was working there.

Thanks. The gent at the store was very nice and apparently the website isn't very good at being up-to-date. This can work both ways, so when the website says they don't have any in stock it is worth going doing or ringing up just to double check.

The staff was laughing about this when i asked them to check one of them even said he got 3 of them they only had 5 in stock originally and none left at all now at this price but can still buy one at full price.
This sort of thing should not be allowed when I worked for few retail companies (dixons, jessops, woolworths, gamestation, whsmith ) very long time ago they wouldn't let staff do this public had first pickings and if after 24hr stock was left staff was allowed 1 item also they limited how many you could get a month also you couldn't use staff discount on top.

some New 3DS XLs are £50 aswell, but stock is also scarce

8 Jun 171#47
My two pence worth.. Once traipsed across town for a Pokemon Yellow console, when I got there the staff said they didnt have any, I showed them the stock check page on my phone and they said "Oh yeah it could be a faulty one or customer return that was sent back"
Bottom line is I think like a Tesco or Asda deal, great if it is right in front of you, otherwise its goosey.

8 Jun 171#46
Considering the Switch is nearly 6x the price of this I cannot understand that logic. Certainly doesn't do anything 6x better I can think of, even technically I'd be surprised if it's more than 2x, and the Wii U has a 10x plus better games library right now, switch will catch up but right now it has little but a Zelda game that the Wii U also has, plus some great HD Zelda remasters the Switch does not have....
Wongduk
8 Jun 171#45
thats lucky i didnt go there. i think its a pricing error as shows wii u console and zelda for 99p, but anyway game as a whole is not a good store, customer service - go elsewhere, any problems or issues they will try and divert the subject. i been waiting over 1 and half month to dispute a so called NEW game sold and the case has been opened with one of their game stickers across the case to prevent from opening. is this the Games exclusive version of NEW?
i take my business else where.

Though to be honest, I think I'd rather put the 49.99 towards a Switch. I feel all the best Wii-U games will be on there eventually: in their best, most complete state. All be it with a Switch premium on top.

Yeah I did try to be subtle, just asked if they had them and they seemed to already be aware of the price.

Grr.

Don't mention the deal, just you want a Wii U with Mario kart brand new and wait till they scan it or they will most likely send you away and lie about having no stock
YabbaDabbaDoobie
8 Jun 172#34
You should of just asked for a Wii U and then when they scanned it you would of had it in front of you so they couldn't refuse, they probably wasn't aware of the deal and sent you away so they could have it themselves
trd
8 Jun 17#26
What's the point? The GAME staff will snatch them for themselves or can just buy them indirectly if store policy is strict on that.... presuming they have half a brain cell between them?
ST3123 to trd
8 Jun 17#28
Yeah, would be far fairer if they sold them online to avoid that kind of thing and give everyone in the country a shot instead of it being pot luck if your local has one. Personally already have a Wii U but for £50 I'd have probably bought a spare....
