Will this come with LG's Bootloop feature? Every flagship they've released since teh G3 has ended up with bootloop problems after 12-18 months

Haha thinking I'd probably be fine, I had a G4 from eglobalc too which bootlooped after about a year. My brothers G4 lifespan was even shorter than mine. No customer support whatsoever for both.

Neither LG nor eglobalcentral are worth a penny of your hard-earned cash.

LG should be ashamed for a known problem (bootloop) to let it affect so many people for so many years and acting as if nothing has happened (G6 has reported bootloop too). Eglobalcentral for acting like the warranty is 12 months although manufacturer claims all global products should be 24 months.

Stay away from them. Cold.

Alarm bells starting to ring.. got the email with tracking link.. information hasn't changed since 29/06 (order 27/06). Rang DPD today who state eGlobal have not given them the item yet.. they have merely created a pickup request but haven't handed over goods. EGlobal email claims item was dispatched on 28/06! No major dramas as I paid on credit card using PayPal.. emailed eGlobal waiting for a reply (but guess it will be a long time).

Never ever again. After about 9 months my G5 suffered 'Boot Loop'. I was away on business, and my phone simply would not work. I was in a pickle. The irritating thing about it was that LG knew they had a problem, knew these things were failing (boards heating up, expanding and cracking over time) and just sat back and waited until it happened to you.

Besides the MSE Worldpay "definitely not invalidated" reference, similar purchase last month by a HUKD member saw EGC stated on credit card statement (post 57 earlier thread). That is more than sufficient to show credible S75 qualification of debtor-creditor-supplier arrangement.

I should of kept my nokia from 20 years ago that never broke probably still be working now lol. If the bootloop issue was on a samsung or apple they would of recalled it but not lg it show they dont care about the custermer it seems to affect most g4 sooner or later. There phones have good specs but are badly made in my opinion.

Might depend on a few aspects as follows. V20 has a removable battery & quite large in body size vs G6, which is noticeably smaller (even though same size 5.7" display) but no removable battery. Also, the G6 has a more modern look (smaller upper & lower bezels) & a 18:9 display ratio compared to the V20, which is 16:9. The G6 is waterproof, while the V20 isn't.

Compare sizes here: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/size/LG-G6/phones/10379#/phones/size/LG-G6,LG-V20/phones/10379,10202

Also read this comparison article: http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/lg-g6-vs-lg-v20 (no wireless charging in this G6 - only the US version has it).

On what basis? Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. You don't even need to bother contact EGC. How it is "sorted" is pretty much up to the CC co. LG will have zero interest, unless CC co instructs LG to have an interest at the CC co's expense; in my experience of S75 claims the CC co has a head-scratching exercise followed by a full refund.

I'm the same. I like the G6 but am still more than happy with my G4. It's a great phone. Had the bootloop issue under warranty and got it back within a week. That was a year ago and no problems since. I'm not one to need a new phone every year. This year the Samsung and Apple phones aren't very inspiring. Never been interested in the One Plus range but the G6 seems to be the only flagship that looks different this year. I would only buy a uk model. All of these imports lack the 800 LTE band (band 20) and that is why I have never bought a Xiaomi Mi Mix. I would have limited 4G coverage but the phone itself I would love to have if it had Band 20.

Great phone , but no notification light !!! yes I cannot live without one ........SUCH a shame , I even went to the o2 store today to test one and to see the always on display with the notifications , its not good in that respect , the always on display is a tad dim and the notifications are all the same colour in white and nothing stands out or flashes / pluses on the screen....excellent phone other wise , well worth the money .

One thing I did see though in the o2 store the new Oneplus 5 , nice bit of kit , 459 full price of course , but why have they gone with a 1080p screen with all the others are going 2k etc !!! at 459 with a 2k screen , I would of bought that....
SPLE22
27 Jun 17 #95
its cheap because there is a design flaw in the motherboard and CPU.... it boot loops because you play too many CPU intensive games. If you are a light user and take pictures, it will be fine. But you will be stuck if you get it from eglobal or any website based on Hong Kong, as LG wont accept an RMA... You are better off getting the Oneplus 5

My LG G4 has been in 3 times for the boot loader issue. I'm now using my old LG G2. Would never buy LG again as they are cheap but they don't admit it when they
have a big fault in their phones and you are left taking it in fir repair all the time. These are too new to tell whether they have an issue. I won't take a gamble on an LG again.

Lucky i'm not in the market for a new phone or i might be tempted by this deal. Interesting observing the dilemma potential buyers are going through. An insanely low price for an excellent phone that may or may not have future boot loop issues vs a retailer from the other side of the world with a proven very poor after sales service, combined with a product from a manufacturer that (from my experience) also has a poor after sales service and sells products with a proven track record of fundamental hardware faults (i.e. LG 3 and LG 4 boot loops). All comes down to a big gamble in the end on how lucky you think you are.

This is the 2nd one I've bought from EG. The 1st one went well and looked new so I bought another for my wife. This one not great though. The seal was broken, no great shakes but the phone looks like a shop display model, fingerprints all over it and make-up on the stickers on the back. Also, the battery was 0% which is rare on a new phone. Got it on charge now but not very impressed.

I want to echo the bootloop comments. My LG G4 boot lopped after 9 months and had to send it in for repair. Took a couple of weeks, lost all data, and now after the fix it runs INCREDIBLY hot when playing games on it. It also has really bad image retention.

I love a good deal, but if you are getting this phone then I really suggest making sure it's a UK model or you're in for a potentially bad time down the road.

27 Jun 17 #81
What disappointed me with LG was thier false acquisition that I rooted my LG G5 when I sent it for repair under warranty and they rejected it. They have very weak, wrong and unreliable method of root detection. No matter how many email to high managers, CEO I wrote they didn't care. LG is not reliable company since that although I love my LG G5 to the bits (except horrible battery life!) I would recommend to buy it from EU shop to have 2 years warranty from the seller even if you root it.
misterleoni
27 Jun 17 #80
Given that LG has something of a reputation for critical flaws in their devices - and I say this as a bit of an LG fan - I wouldn't personally risk this for the extra features, since the extra features are fairly meaningless to me. For someone who desperately wants both a quad DAC, dual SIM and wireless charging then maybe it's worth the punt, but in the event of having to return this phone you're going to be relying on your credit card company to sort it out by the sounds of it. It's also harder to sell a grey import like this IMO.

I've not had a particularly bad time with LG devices, though my first G4 had a faulty camera, my second G4 got the bootloop issue (albeit after I sold it) and my last G5 developed the image retention issue.
Crossbow
27 Jun 17 #79
I don't get it when you say, "....it's the 32gb black but these have micro SD cards".

The EGC one, not only has a microSD slot, but also double the storage, dual-SIM & quad-DAC.

My point is, you can't really compare the two except for the better support you're likely to get from Amazon.
misterleoni
27 Jun 17 #78
For anyone thinking of buying from EGC maybe follow the recent tweets of Paul O'Brien (a well respected Dev) on Twitter. It's all well and good people saying 'I ordered from here and had no issues' but no one is saying people will have issues with receiving the items; the problem seems to come with returning items in the event of a fault, and the way EGC seem to be pretty iffy at handling this service.
Marekj

27 Jun 17 1 #75
lol - maybe not.

My LG G4 went for repair after 18mths. Due to a bootloop but also prior to that a touch screen issue. Two repairs and two main boards, camera, screen and housing (not sure what was left to change) it now works ok. took ages to get my unlock code tho as the main board generated a new IMEI number and no one could be provide an unlock code, including Voda and LG.
My daughters LG G4 just went in for repair yesterday, 14 months old (not my daughter - the phone), as that started to freeze and now just boot looped.

At least Voda offered a 2 years warranty, if bought through them. They were pretty good as well with a repair taking around a week altogether - even though mine went in twice.

LG made a thing about these being more reliable so I wouldn't expect bootloops. No reports so far. Phone looks great but they are doing the stupid thing of only allowing a certain model to be bootloader unlocked to allow custom ROMs. This isn't that model. So as long as you're fine only getting carrier updates for as long as they can be bothered to do them then it's a great phone. I opted for a 3T off eBay in the end instead due to all the hassle I had trying custom ROMs on my G4.

Well it's happened on both LGs I have had - my G3, my G4 and my brothers G4 so I would suggest it's a higher percentage than you think. The experiences have put me off getting another LG phone in future.

Yawn.

S8 selling very well despite Samsung previously selling fireballs, but every LG phone thread has this 'joke' added, despite it probably affecting a relatively small percentage.

p.s. I use HTCs, just a casual observer on this subject

I'm not sure about custom ROMs, no bootloader unlock for the DS, with the G4 it was possible to flash modded stock ROMs with root inject but it was long ago I had one so no idea but I think there isn't any.

These EGlobal G6 offers are getting cheaper by the day. Any ideas why?
iNSOMANiAC to goinggrey
27 Jun 17 #40
Probably because nobody wants them, or wanted them at RRP. I work in a phone shop and we were offered £100 amazon vouchers by LG for each ONE we sold, thats unheard of, if we sold six we got £600 vouchers, an LG TV and a G6, asolute madness.

This phone will not be uk version and will not be covered by any warranty. You will have to send it to China when you get any faults. Voted cold from me.

Will this fully work on all UK network, 3g and 4g? Although I'm on Three.

Also, is there much custom ROM support for this version of the phone?

I have an s6 was waiting on the note 8 but they reckon the price is going to be around £1000 which I can believe as it will match the iPhone. so no way am I paying that amount.

Chose free shipping with eglobalcentral and Mi5s was delivered by DpD when it got to the UK with no extra fees, was very impressed with their service considering the super cheap prices.

Didn't take long and they even refunded £50 when I told them that the phone reduced in price a few days after I ordered. Thought I was pushing my luck, but well done to them.

I bought a V20 from eglobalcentral, very pleased with the phone, but totally unimpressed with their inability to respond in any useful way, if they respond at all, to tickets.
I've had a ticket open with them a week to ask about a delay in delivering my phone, then when it was actually delivered (tracking was useless) added a comment to the ticket, and they still haven't responded or closed the ticket!

Will this come with LG's Bootloop feature? Every flagship they've released since teh G3 has ended up with bootloop problems after 12-18 months

I had a good read up about eGlobal and it seemed the general view was that the products it sells were cheaper than most other e-shops but the company's customer service was a bit naff. The fact that it was offering the Asian LG G6 that is better specced than the its EU counterpart for far less money was too good to miss.

I ordered on 13/06 and received the phone, delivered by DPD, on 23/06. The box was definately opened, I'm guessing to check the condition of the phone and that it was working properly, but all the supplied accessories were present and untouched. The actual phone I received was sourced from Taiwan, fully unlocked and no bloatware or carrier branding and was band new with all the protective stickers still attached. I have a Virgin Mobile and O2 sim in it working perfectly fine.

Overall I'm pleased with the purchase and you can't beat it for £355, a bit peeved that its dropped to £316 but hey ho. Only time will tell if I have a problem with the phone and have to contact them for support.
AndyRoyd

Two routes: if change of mind after receipt, phone is returned to HK at buyer's expense. If a warranty claim is required, the options depend on purchase method: if purchased from EGC directly by UK credit card, the UK credit card co will service the warranty claim under S75 Consumer Credit Act 1974 if you wish, or similar to other payment methods, you can return to EGC via a UK address. Length on warranty service turnround will depend on fault, although UK credit card companies typically just refund the purchase price and don't bother attempt a repair.

Whats the return policy? What country do you have to send it to if there's a problem? Who pays the return postage?
From the day you return it how long until you get it back or get a refund?

had my g6 from there for about a month, took about a week to arrive, no import costs. great phone imo, size is perfect, wide camera is really handy bigger storage and 32 bit dac and duel sims thats working a treat. shame the uk version doesnt have all that and is more expensive. i bit when some stacked codes and quidco or tcb got it to about 300

Would like to know why the price changes on a daily basis. We have not had another election or a referendum in the last few days so it cannot be the exchange rate.

Use code JBUY599 for £5.99 off (over £200 spend, which this is)... Won't be buying one ourselves, and have never used ECG so not a recommendation either, but most people will get this offer as soon as they visit the site. Not sure if the codes will stack, but if not, you get an extra 99p off with this code - treat yourself to a McDonald's burger!

"17. Import, VAT & Customs
17.1 To simplify the process of buying internationally, eglobal central choose to handle the process of custom clearance for customers. By purchasing products through eglobal central, you authorise eglobal central to make arrangements for clearance of customs on your behalf for the products in your order. As importing products from overseas can be a hassle for most of our customers, we organise this process for you. We then provide you with fast local shipping to deliver the goods to your door. As a result, prices shown on this website are the final total you have to pay to have the order delivered to your door, without any hidden charges and customs delay."
