I worked it out, when the Superhub is in modem mode, only one of the ethernet ports (the one closest to the white cable in socket) is active. The rest of the ports are inactive. This is the port that should be used to connect to the Nighthawk router.

Anyone know how to connect this to a Virgin Media Superhub 3? I put the superhub into Modem Mode and connected the Nighthawks yellow Internet ethernet socket to one of the superhub's ethernet port and it didn't work. I managed to start the wizard on the Nighthawk by going to http://www.routerlogin.net but it couldn't detect an Internet connection. Anyone know what I need to do?

This is incorrect.
Whilst coverage may be better, dependent on power output - WiFi "speed" is determined by a huge number of factors. Appreciate your logic here, but having a faster line and newest smartphone doesn't equate to faster wireless speeds.

This thing is great, had one for a while. Range in fantastic and it looks outstanding. Only bad feature is the wall mount features. The fools out screw holes without the little catch for the screw to drop into so it just sits on the screw. Despite having LOTS of "no more nails" tape it has still fallen down regularly breaking a number of the antennas. Ridiculous considering how insanely simple it would be to make the screw mounts actually work like everything else in the world that has screw mounts!

So compared to my 'free' plusnet router this will do what?
Significantly better range?
Faster wi-fi?
My current router wifi struggles to reach the other side of the house
RaiseR to da_murphster
12 Jun 17#23
Yes, basically. Should provide a lot better coverage of your house. How fast the wi-fi can be is dependent on how fast your internet actually is and the device that is connecting to the router. But if you have fibre from plusnet and the latest smartphone you should reach near top speed on wireless

Looks like they've pulled the code, I had this in my basket earlier and the discount was showing at checkout but I didn't place the order, now when I go through to the checkout there's no discount and when I try to enter the code I get "The promotional code you entered has expired" :disappointed:

have had this a couple of months now and it's superb, can't fault it. Even with 2 ps4's gaming, 1 ipad streaming youtube and 2 tv's simultaneously streaming netflix it doesn't miss a beat and whole house coverage is great.

Is this better (in terms of range) than the BT HH6? I've tested a few over the years and the latest BT hub seems to be pretty good (and 'free') - yes I know you can't mod etc

External antennas will always beat internal antennas, it is like day and night
I have both the BT HH6 and asus rt-ac68u, the Asus smashes it easily in terms of distance
