Great price and great alarms. Likely go cold on here, but I have them and think they're well worth the money.
People spend so much money on things in life, which aren't life safety, but just want to spend a fiver on the cheapest detector they can.

I love my mains powered one, lights up the landing at night when people pass, and just works and looks good.
I got mine free when I took a John Lewis Home insurance policy from a deal on here over a year ago, but this is a good price.

I'll never understand HUKD! Save a few pence on bagels = a very hot deal... Save £20 on a very good smoke detector (especially after the recent events in London) and it's cold!

been looking at these as i have the heating thermostate. I alreayd have wired alarms in the house which are fed but the usual three wires am i right to assume these are easily wired in?

You just reuse the live and neutral wires, the third is the interconnect between none smart wired alarms, it's not needed for nest as the comms is done wirelessly.
I've ordered one based on this deal to go upstairs and replace a questionable old unit. Already using one downstairs, was just waiting for the right deal to make it a pair so thanks OP!

Hi, the wired ones are the same price (Amazon and Argos).
I forgot to add, these are very easy to wire in, just the normal mains connectors required (Three wires).
I have one of these in the ketchen and we are very happy with it.

thanks, i think i was looking at other sellers but yes see that now. and gone for two. Quite like the idea of these, ive really found the Nest theromstat to be very handy when out and about and can switch the heating on. The night light facility looks good as well the added benefit of carbon monoxide detector

I'm all for smart lights and automation but I draw the line at smoke alarms.
Pointless, unless they're proven to offer better protection by way of detecting smoke quicker than an average alarm.

Ok, so I have one of these and the alarm notified me whilst at work that smoke was detected at home. Quick phone call and all resolved without a fire. That's pretty amazing don't you think, and saved my home from being burnt down.

I bought these a couple of years ago. Very pleased with them, my main reason for buying them us they link up. My kitchen is in the extension and closes off with double glazed doors. Its virtually sound proof, the whole thing could be ablaze and I would not know. With these any smoke detected and it alerts all the other devices.
They are also carbon monoxide detectors so saves the need for two devices.

I've got one for the holiday home. When we changed to a new internet provider, I forgot to set the new wifi password on the Nest. It didn't send any alerts about it at all - we were without remote warnings for over two months. At least the Canary camera does send alerts if it goes offline.

How could it ? you had put a new wifi network in place and forgot to add it to the nest ? These notify you about anything worth knowing about based on its purpose, even backup battery's getting low or if had a power cut. Dribble .

I've got two of the battery ones, had them three years or so now and had a few teething problems, probably because I was an early adopter!
One constantly disconnected itself from WiFi wherever it was put and the other kept false alarming, particularly on warm days when the windows were open and there was a breeze. Both rock solid now, I think a combination of giving them a good clean, swapping their positions but mostly updated firmware from Nest.
As for battery life, both are now on their second set of batteries and only get on with the expensive Everready ones they are supplied with originally. Tried a few alternatives and they didn't last longer than a few days in some cases.

My Dad who lives with us was cooking with a pan of oil and left it too long, quick phone call and all resolved. I've also caught him burning the toast !! I also have the thermostat and control the heating when the wife turns it up. Nest equipment is so awesome

Voted Hot. The Grenfell Tower tragedy has focused my mind! Some people may not be able to afford this particular detector, but every household should invest in smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide (gas/wood burner households).
