Apparently this dual SIM is only 2G on the second (non data) sim unlike the fabulous G4+ dual sim which does 3G voice on sim2 while 3/4G voice/data on sim 1.

not having 3g on the second sim means it's not gonna work on a Three sim or those mnvo's that use Three's network.

I believe they also cut out the gyroscope, which the G2 had. I get that this is a middle class phone, and the RAM is really good, but some of the features are a bit too budget for me.

I replaced the screen + digitizer on my original Moto G twice, DIY £25 a time, it's not difficult at all.

Been very disappointed how rare that seems to be for most phones, I'd absolutely consider replacement a factor in buying now I've done it. Honor 6X seems to have spares around for about £30.

See my earlier post with a link to the Redmi Note 4 Global edition which is 5.5 inches. Amazing phone!

Comparison here but be aware this is the superior Moto G5 plus the Xiaomi is being put up against and still easily holding its own

I have the Moto G5 and can confirm that it works with Google Cardboard without problems. You actually need a gyroscope equipped phone for that which this has. A compass isn't, strictly speaking, needed for VR apps.

And no Photospheres (brilliant for holiday snaps, show off a view far better than a normal photo) and no cheap and cheerful VR (if that's your bag).

I have had this phone for a few months now, good size screen, battery last two days for moderate use, 3GB ram helps for running multiple applications, I am happy with the camera. Would recommend for someone who is after a sub £200 phone.

I have this phone, initially I liked it a lot but it's about as durable as a block of cheese. By all means buy it but unless you are extremely careful with it you'll need insurance.

If you do damage it Motorola repair centre are horrendous, they refuse to give you a repair cost until you send your phone to them. They charge a £19.50 release fee to send your phone back if you decide not to pay whatever price they concoct. It's sketchy at best.

Defo not a phone for teenagers, parents with kids who play with their phones or anyone prone to butter fingers.

I'd guess that the performance is not much of a step down due to almost stock Android vs Bloatwiz. Both phones have 3GB RAM. What will perform much better is the battery life as the S6 had a crap battery from day 1.

Had this phone for a few months and I'm happy with it for the price other than 2 niggles, it has no compass so apps like stargazing ones can't scroll themselves and I'd guess it's no good for Google cardboard etc. The screen scratches very easily, get something like this Hard screen protector before you order it and fit it straight away.

I have had this phone for a few days, so far so good. Lots of good features, a few lost such as no compass and notification light. but the Moto quick start features make up for it. Battery is okay for a smart phone. Don't go for the 2gb RAM, 3gb RAM is worth it for smoother running.

The best Xiaomi at a great price is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Global edition. Lots of deals on this site but goes for around £115 -£120.

Not everyone has £600 to spend on a phone. Even the people that do, don't like losing £200 in the first year due to depreciation. Even if this phone loses half of its value in the first year, the loss is only be £85. That's much better value than a £600 iphone or any other flagship. Its not as if a £600 phone performs 3 or 4 times better than this Moto either.

When my mum bought her moto phone last year, the staff at the Speke CPW/Curry's store actually told her not to buy it from them but to buy online. I was a bit annoyed as she'd taken ages to find the one she wanted. We did get it direct from Moto online in the end for the same price due to a deal plus she was able to choose her own colour and have it engraved with her name so she was happy. I guess we either had very helpful and honest staff of just staff who hated their job and the company they work for - from the look of them at the time I think it was the latter.

I just switched from an LGG4 to a G4, and I think you would be better off saving £40 and getting the G4 instead of the G5. Of course it depends on what size screen you prefer. But the G4 is fast as hell, throws anything I have at it, and I can't see how the G5 could be that much of an improvement other than aesthetics.

might try this - wouldn't have Xiaomi again - Redmi note 2 which failed after 4 months (bootloop) was told motherboard was faulty and after a fight managed to get a replacement which died after 3 months, couldn't be bothered with the hassle as the Chinese don't want to honour their warranties (supposedly 2 years!).

16GB internal memory is pretty paltry these days.

My daughter in law got this a few weeks ago and is made up with it! Xiaomi are one of the world's largest smartphone companies and their build quality is up there with the best of them TBH. 4GB RAM/64GB internal memory, 5.5 FHD screen, 4100mAh battery, supports all the UK 4G networks, full metal build for 134 quid delivered. What's not to like?

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 owner here - excellent. Doesn't 'feel' any less well made than my Galaxy S6 which it has replaced.

No issues with the camera - I'm aware it's not as good as the S6 but nothing noticeably 'inferior' in terms of the shots I've taken.

Have installed Lineage OS on it.
