Every one of these deals have the same idiots making comments without context... If you are a heavy user of your phone this will not be sufficient, but for casual users 1gb of ram is fine.

I'd still go with a second hand LG G2 with 2GB ram.
CPW phones will come with all original accessories including UK Plug and usually are also unlocked.

Also, is there a free sim unlock tool?

Really not looking to spend a lot on a phone. Other than the basic making a call, checking emails and a couple of websites, the main thing I'd be hoping to do is watch BT sports when I'm stuck outside the shops waiting on the wife. Will this phone be good enough for that?

RAM is largely irrelevant if the manufacturer handles it poorly anyway: my Huawei P9 has 3GB of RAM but drops apps from memory like a hot potato.

Too true. When I was young it either used the home landline or the telephone box where ever you could find one.

Always makes me wonder if people on here are in the real world. People buying phones like this aren't the same people who buy second hand phones and flash custom ROMs on them - pure and simple. They want a simple, cheap phone to give to a relative. This phone will work just fine! Android hasn't bloated that much since the original Moto G came out - perhaps our expectations about speed and fluidity have changed but I still think this phone will run fine. RAM doesn't make a phone run faster as such; its primary function is to keep apps held in memory until you need them next. So with 1GB RAM you'll find that apps have to reload when you open them after a fairly short space of time.
Aside from that this should run fine.

Xiaomi are crap with a capital C if they get water on or in them. Had the redmi 4a, destroyed from a very quick shallow dip. Mr Xiaomi himself said don't expect me to make the phone waterproof- would have to charge much more - but the phones might last past the next shower, instead of people like me , who came down in the last one .

so you hate Xiaomi because your non waterproof phone didn't survive being dropped in water?

The phone is terrible for speed, storage and general usage as it's exactly the same as specs wise Samsung J1 or Samsung Young and the C stands for crap!

Terrible for storage? 16gb
It's got the latest version of Android 7
It's got a decent battery which will last well with the specs
Basically you are talking rubbish.... If you have tested this exact handset then I'll listen but it's not released yet
It's not going to fly BUT it's a mum dad type of phone with Stock Android so this keeps it simple

It'll be better than the Samsung equivalent for sure. Spec only tells part of the story and Samsung crapware always hamstrings the hardware.

30 Jun 17#34
Majority decent phones you will be able to use up to 256GB memory card, the camera and screen resolution is crap quality, have you tried the phone yourself? I did and I can say it feels cheap. Wow, 16GB capacity is not of enough if Facebook app is taking almost 500MB of storage, as in such poor developed phones almost 4GB it will be the operational system without any apps.
I personally do believe that Moto E3 (even with less storage) is faster and better phone than Moto C

whats happened to moto since lenovo bought it. they have gone from throwing out amazing quality and spec phones for little money, to throwing out rubbish like this, or overpriced phones.

only if the manufacturer implements it. case in point, samsung deliberately disables it in case it damaged their reputation when somebody uses a sub par sd card, and the phone performs terribly.

This is a complex question to answer. With Android 6 there is the option to treat Sd Card and internal storage as a single unified thing, though if you already had an SD Card in an upgraded from an earlier version of Android this is difficult to do.
You sometimes have the option of moving apps to SD Card even without that option, it depends on the maker of the phone, Sony allow it for most apps
tumbleweed34
29 Jun 17#28
How do you do that? App store, or more complicated?

29 Jun 172#24
I wouldn't waste your money on this. I've got a 1st gen moto g that I keep as a spare phone in case my main one breaks/gets nicked.
In its day, it was the best 1gb cheap phone, but now it's really slow and crashes a lot. For the most part, it's still a better choice than this as well.
Yes, this will suffice if you're a light user, but don't expect it not to get on your nerves after a while.

£60 for the Moto C is a pretty good deal - you would be very hard pushed to beat this ordering in the UK.
If you don't mind importing, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A (Global Version) is rather higher specced for only a little more. £75 will get you:
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB Storage + MicroSD
- Dual SIM
- Global firmware
- Quad Core Snapdragon 425
- 5", 720p display
- 4G including Band 20
The main disadvantage is Android 6 and MIUI8.x, but at least MIUI gets support for many years after the release of the phone (even if the underlying OS version doesn't see many updates).
How dare you sully this humble site with such a medieval implement! Next you'll be submitting deals for cheap turnips.

In the days of Kit Kat, the G2 was the king of battery life. I agree that batteries suffer over time but flash Lineage 7.1.1 and you get the benefits of Doze mode. In performance/spec terms, the FHD screen, 2GB ram 13mp camera with OIS and SD800 will be much better than the Moto C.
