Very true, but low form of evidence is better than no evidence at all  anyway, I don't give a monkeys what people buy. Buy cheap if you want, I would buy cheap if the quality were as good, quite happily. But unfortunately, that guy must have secrets the rest don't, on where to find as good quality trainers for a fraction of the price, and is unwilling to share, despite me asking him about 10 times to tell me.

Anecdotal evidence is the lowest form of evidence, and is on a similar level to opinion.

Come on guys/gals, calm down.. This is a deals site and people can buy or not the products they like and choose based on their own opinion, hence the ability to vote up or down on the deal.
You're both obviously very strong minded people with your own opinions, can we not just stop it here and agree to disagree?
It's a summers day (it may be raining where you are), but have a beer (or another alocoholic or otherwise drink). Chill out and just cast your votes and part ways.

Exactly, people should be able to buy whatever they want for whatever reason they want
Mmmmmm, beeeer  wonder if I am allowed to buy branded beer, or if I will be judged for not buying a cheaper supermarkets own alternative because it is made in the same country, so it must taste just as good

I wear trainers every day, and these outlast every cheaper brand I have tried, I have listed a few already that I have tried... That's all the evidence I need.
You came up with a claim that you cannot back up, but we have to just take your word for it because you want it to be true? Na, i'll do actual research myself and come up with my own conclusions. I won't just think something because I want it to be true.
Now stop talking round my request. please give me something to back up your claim. This must be the 4th time I have asked, but still nothing, just your word. Dismiss my claims,. lets agree they are not up to your standards, so they can be disregarded, thats fine. Let's hear your evidence please.

Personal research is not evidence. It is a personal view with no scientific basis. You have not listed the brands, the methodology used and if all used in the same conditions.
If you like the look, like the fit, like the high prices and paying for sponsorhip, great. It does not mean they are better quality. This needs to be evidenced by comprehensive research. I will give you a clue: Adidas do not make the claim of superior quality. Ask yourself why.
bigmaz
22 Jun 17#47
Ok, out of all my personal research, I have come to that conclusion. Tried many many cheap brands. Now prove me wrong... Please please please.... I want to be proved wrong, I genuinely do... As it will save me money, I really do not care about logo's, so I am happy wearing any unbranded

Those who claim superiority have to provide the evidence. You cannot advertise your product is indestructible unless you have evidence. You cannot world's top 10% University unless you can evidence it. Since all Universities have not been evaluated, the claim had to be removed.
You make the superior claim, so prove it. Ah, you cannot.

Provide real evidence showing otherwise.

You cannot have physically tested every brand in scientific conditions. Where is your peer reviewed report?
You claim Adidas are better, provide some real evidence. Ah, you cannot.
bigmaz
22 Jun 17#40
Hahaha!!! Are you on drugs? You have not produced ONE bit of evidence to support your argument. I have told you I have had personal experience over the years, I have physically tested them out..... What research have you done to come to your conclusion?
Common.Sense
22 Jun 17#39
I did not say one bag proves anything and made it clear it does not.
I asked you to provide a scientific, peer reviewed study to prove Adidas training shoes are better quality than lower cost brands. It seems you cannot put your money where your mouth is and cannot back your claim with actual facts.
bigmaz
22 Jun 17#38
No, that does not prove anything at all, one bag, lol.... Plus I am not talking about bags, I am talking about trainers. I have tried lots of brands, Slazenger, Airwalk, Karrimor, Primark, Asda George. None of these compare to any of my Adidas trainers for comfort and they def don't last as long, some looked ok.
What trainers have you compared to support your argument? You just see 2 pairs of trainers with 2 price tags and just assume they are both the same apart from the price without actually doing any research...
I would LOVE to buy cheap unbranded trainers if they ticked all the boxes, so please please please tell me where I can buy them? You don't back up anything you say
Common.Sense
22 Jun 17#37
One view is not fact. Please provide a peer verified report indicting Adidas products last longer than other lower cost brands. It seems you claiming your personal experience is fact and clearly have not tried every product or undertaken a scientific test. My experience, a £35 Adidas bag lasted 6 months. A similar £10 bag has lasted over 2 year. This is one experience and does not prove anything.
bigmaz
22 Jun 17#36
What I say IS true, as I have personal experience of it. Struggling to see your side though, but I am happy to be proved wrong..... Please do.... Send me a link to a cheap pair of trainers that will be comfortable for everyday use, will last the same amount of time and look as good. I will buy them and try them
And yes, of course I know they are making huge profit. But I go for comfort and something that lasts, which unfortunately I cannot get with a cheap trainer. And yes, I totally agree with you, what I like, others may not, I think you should take that on board yourself  I am not forcing my views onto other people, only stating facts from personal experience.
Common.Sense
22 Jun 17#35
Just because you think or say does not means it is true. What you like others may not!
I am sure you know these shoes cost less than £4 to manufacture.
bigmaz
22 Jun 17#34
What has the fact they are made in the same country got to do with it? lol!! Link me a cheap brand trainer that looks as good, and i'll happily test them out, as I have already said, I have tried other cheap brands and don't last as long. Just because you think it, doesn't mean it's true....
Common.Sense

What is a cheap brand? Rebook, Umbro, Fila, Puma? All seem to have the same guarantee and are made in China.
They all seem to last the same length. Prices within these brands vary substantially.
bigmaz
22 Jun 17#32
Haha.... Man, easy tiger.... That's your opinion, and fair enough. But as I said before, I have tried all sorts of cheap brand trainers and trust me, they do not last as long, so they cost double, but they last more than double the time, that's evidence right there. You can ignore it if you want, but that's a fact.
With regards the Samsung, if you had an Apple, then they would have replaced it in an Apple shop there and then.... I have had that issue with my iPhone 6 and they replaced it no questions asked
Common.Sense
22 Jun 17#31
I have seen no evidence of this. Adidas bag broke within 6 months, All made in China as lower cost brands. Brands does not mean quality. The warranty period is the same. The shop refused to replace. Luckily Adidas did replace it.
Samsung phones: no real warranty. One mark invalidates warranty due to physical damage. Eg back cover of S6 came off ( a sealed unit) and cracked. Samsung refused repair. Financial Ombudsman agreed a replacement!
Previously an unmarked S6 bent and Samsung refused to warranty repair. I sued and they settled.
Brand means nothing to me and no guarantee of quality.
If Adidas and Nike charge double, I expect double warranty period.
I find it amusing celebrities get paid the advertise Nike/Adidas and the public pay to advertise these products.
I prefer quality clothes without a logo on display.

Suppose, but need to watch, cheaper can also mean poor quality.... Buy a cheap brand, they will not last as long. I found that out myself, tried various cheaper brands. I mostly wear Adidas myself, cost more, but last me a lot longer, and look good.

Great value. Got myself a pair like these in the clearance at Decathlon 15 months ago and they look like they'll be solid enough to be my "utility trainers" last pair again similar lasted 8 years before I donated them to an African children's charity.
