Android version.
Lollipop is now too old.
Marshmallow is also old but one year newer and
Nougat is the latest version.

Thank you. I've bought one. But I'm a light user, just go on hukd 24/7 and the odd YouTube video and WhatsApp. No gaming or picture taking. Hopefully it's ok for me.

Specs look great but concerned about old version of Android and no way of updating. I had a search for reviews and info on rooting/updates but could not find anything useful.

25 Jun 17#17
It is a concern but specs are good. Looking at the other side of the coin, no good having latest android version on poor hardware.. I wonder what the camera is like?
crumpetman
25 Jun 171#18
I know but it all takes is for your favourite app to be updated and then it won't run anymore, had this happen to me with previous phones.

Would WhatsApp and hukd, eBay, Amazon, instagram, and banking apps work on there? If not, I'm cancelling order. Sorry for all the questions

Really? I've got a tablet with 4.4 KitKat and everything works ok
There is still many phones with Android 5.1 lollipop etc..... Personally Android 6 Marshmallow is a requirement due to the inbuilt doze mode .... Deep sleep.... Which is apparently even better with Android 7
If the battery isn't the biggest then Android 6 will make a difference
quantum77 to crumpetman
25 Jun 17#28
er, does that even happen on android? iOS of yes, but didn't think android forced hardware upgrades on you...
xmikebx
25 Jun 171#21
Out of all them I'd say the banking apps is the questionable one. I don't use banking apps but I'm guessing there may be android security updates between lollipop & nougat that they depend on. Best to check the site for your banking app.
Edit: Heated because it's good specs for the money
Gone for one as a temporary replacement for my Oukitel K6000 Pro which is broken (temporarily I hope). Need it asap but went for the black although it states it takes a day longer to arrive.

shame about the battery life, think I'd prefer the Xiaomi 4x global 32gb version instead of this for the similar price

Better of with a Xiaomi redmi 4 or similar with a nice big battery, up to date OS and probably better camera IMHO

25 Jun 17#51
Redmi 4 is a fantastic phone for the money. I own one and love it. But normally is slightly more expensive, long wait for delivery, accessories are more expensive than other brands and also usually takes longer to delivery and finally the fear of a fault and dealing with warranty. I had an unfortunate issue with a phone from China. Overheating phone, charger smelt of burning. Getting a replacement will cost me time and money

Medion joke? Received a "PAW Patrol Chase's Spy Cruiser" WTF !?!?

Can't seem to figure out how to use the dual sim function with a micro sd. There's no instructions anywhere. Just a flimsy little double sided menu showing how to charge the phone and how to switch on the phone
Bendown
26 Jun 17#62
Anyone seen any cases for these?
Kankan101
26 Jun 171#63
Wondered how long these would take to appear on Ebay, guy from Coventry got 4 for sale for £139.99
so that's £12 fees then probably £7-9 paypal fee's then £5-6 postage so that's about £15 profit very roughly. Not really worth it.

One sim card is micro another needs to be nano-sim/sd card.
You are probably stuck on same problem as I was- if that's the case - try removing the the sim card bay/slot all the way - you can actually take it out of the phone itself.
Then you should see this bay fits two sim cards.
pompey87
26 Jun 17#67
I have taken it out completely, I think you can only use the dual sim option without the micro sd, or it's not possible to use 2 SIM cards and a micro sd. Thanks for the help

yes either two SIMs without MicroSD card.

Received today. Great phone, only annoying problem is that the buttons rattle with the slightest movement of the phone. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just mine?
Probably the one I originally ordered but ended up with a "PAW Patrol Chase's Spy Cruiser" instead. Anyway, bought this last one. Fingers crossed.

What's the verdict on this phone? Just had one delivered - meant to cancel it earlier. Is it worth keeping/is the phone worth the money? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

4 Jul 171#85
some observations hopefully helpful:-
Build quality is good.
Nice screen.
Fast enough even when a using high power apps.
No notification light is annoying.
Camera is very poor.
Tendency to get quite hot.
Battery life not the best, will get a day if used moderately.
Had a blank screen once which I then had to hold down power plus volume down buttons to reboot.
Android 5 - but does not really bother me.
I am just using as a stop gap before deciding what premium phone I should get. Bargain and well worth the money.
IlyasMiah
4 Jul 171#86
I actually find the camera OK tbh, but it's been lagging a bit for me which is quite surprising as I'd expected it not to with the 3GB RAM and Snapdragon processor...
IlyasMiah
4 Jul 171#87
Yes, I also have this issue.
IlyasMiah
4 Jul 171#88
I had an issue with connecting to/saving my home WiFi network, but that was resolved by uninstalling McAfee Mobile Security. What disappoints me is the lag though, as I had high hopes for this phone as all my previous phones used to lag. I thought with a 3GB RAM and Snapdragon (Octa-Core) processor it wouldn't lag but doesn't seem to be the case...
tibby
7 Jul 17#89
Well I think I've managed to repair my Oukitel K6000 Pro so this is probs gonna go on eBay. I think its OK but the battery is weak, especially considering I bought a 6000mAh battery phone for this precise reason.
Google crashing is also driving me crazy. Of all the apps that should force close, a google app on a google platform should not be one of them!

Dead. Had this a week. Charged today - reached 100% and turned itself

My phone's dead. Reached 100% power then turned off. Cannot turn it on again.

Not Samsung S8 or anything but decent phone for price from German company and 2 years warranty. Only Android 5 though but you cant grumble
