Thanks very much for this. Seems clear enough. I picked up the lawnmower from wickes on Monday so will hopefully give it a go on the weekend.
On a side note that looks like a great website. Never heard of manualslib before

I can't decide between this and the qualcast 41cm push mower from homebase (£129).
This looks great but I've never Owned a petrol mower and many reviews (not only on wickes) mention the instructions are very poor. Is it really that difficult to put together without clear instructions?
Remember to tip it to the fuel tank side, yes a bit of petrol will leak out of the cap but it's better than engine oil going in to your engines cylinder, which makes it hard to start and smoky as funk. Would be nice to treat it to some decent 5w30, SAE30, 10w 40, 5w 40 if you see any on sale at the supermarket, though what it comes with should be sufficient for the amount of summer we have left...
Though those with small grassed areas might find a manual push cylinder mower adequate if they just want cable free and no hassle. Argos have the "Qualcast Rhino" on offer for £39.99 at the minute, which is a good price for a branded one. http://www.argos.co.uk/product/1587450

Please note that these come with NO oil at all (i.e. they are empty) when you buy it so you will need to fill it up before you use it

Bought it's bigger brother the M40-125 the other day and it is a lovely mower. Bit strange that it has height adjusters on every wheel instead of a single lever for the entire machine but apart from that can't fault it :-)

Shame its not self-propelled. My current mower is due a service after many years, and I think it might be easier to sell it and buy a nice new one.

Service? Mines never had pay servicing. 30 years old. Change oil every few years, one change of spark plug, sharpen the blade with a file. So easy! Hardly costs anything.
