If you're interested in these great-looking bezel-less phones, you may have heard of the Xiaomi Mi Mix, which costs around £500.
The Maze Alpha is brand new, with Android 7 and excellent specs. It looks like a great buy if you're willing to give an unknown brand a try.
The phone has a dual-camera, Type-C and supports dual-SIM. With 4GB RAM, a 2.5GHz octa-core processor and 4000 mAh battery, this phone seems like a great buy even without the bezel-less feature!

Had it 2 weeks and the wife has already cracked all the touch screen/bezel and I can't find replacement parts.
Heavily Cracked all under the glass screen protector which the screen protector is almost unscathed, the touch somehow still works considering the severity of damage & no damage to the LCD I believe. She has no idea what happened as she didn't drop it.
Worst part for me is I ordered her a flip case that she wanted for it which came a few days ago, but she couldn't be bothered to put it in the case.

Whats the point of a bezel less phone if it has a massive bezel beneath the screen ? They then even waste some of the screen by having on-screen navigation buttons when there is acres of space beside the fingerprint scanner under the screen for them. The weight at 225g is another downside - you would not put this in your jean pocket as it would pull your jeans down.

First off, there may well be an option to use the off-screen button for home, back and recent (e.g. by sliding along it, like many other phones have). Secondly, the bezel-less display makes gaming and watching very immersive, even with the bottom bezel. Also, my phone weighs about 215g (it has a 6,000mAh battery) and is no problem to carry in my pocket. Wear a goddamn belt!

I don't care much about the bezel below the screen. It's the width I care about and whether it's too wide for my hands. Being bezel-less helps with that. The weight may be an issue though.
As for the onscreen navigation - that can be disabled. And I believe the fingerprint scanner also doubles as a navigation button.
This is the best bezel-less phone under £200.

I received my Doogee Mix 2 nights ago .. it was posted 26 June!! ..quick delivery. so far loving it I'm yet to ANTUTU it though , but quick performance so far. The phone doesn't have ANT+ capabilities ( which that Elephone S7 has ) , but no
matter I'll just have to use normal bluetooth to connect my sports
peripherals I actually also own that 5.5" LG Stylus 2 &
straight away one notices how sizeably smaller this Doogee due to the min bezels. I think the backplate might be glass too as the phone is quite heavy( actually heavier than my larger Stylus 2 handset) yeah the Doogee Mix has some heft to it .feels solid. Currently
I'm using their simple plastic case that came in the package . Fear
to drop the phone as it definitely wouldn't survive. There's a PET film already installed on the display and also a spare in the box. Ordering a couple of tempered overlays. Does
anyone know of a robust phone case with similar dimensions to this
handset as the flip cases on offer on AE & BG look rather meh

I took a gamble on this phone and ordered from gearbest, i can only hope it is as good as its specs suggest, i already ordered a leagoo m8 pro from gearbest and had no trouble from this company, and the phone is superb for the price, who knows, maybe this company is the new xiaomi of the future. Their website suggest they have 80 employees working solely on technical, software, and hopefully OTA issues for the future.

64GB storage, should be more than enough. As for replacing Galaxy S5, I'm a big fan of Chinese phones. They tend to have excellent specs at a fraction of the price of branded phones. I've never tried this particular phone, but with proper research and reading reviews etc, Chinese phones are often amazing for the price

Thank you very much for your response, but the problem with this case s.aliexpress.com/vy6…eQn is the camera placement holes are wrong for this device, the maze alpha is in the top left corner and not in the middle but it is a nice case, anybody else got any recommendations.

Same cover as the 4x, I bought a few from aliexpress for my wife's note 4, here's her favorite and you can see from the description the the note 4 and 4 x share phone covers.
Cheers mate I've also looked at the Doogee Mix and Umidigi Crystal because of the slim bezels but Xiaomi seem a far more established brand.

I'm on my fourth Chinese phone and watch developments closely, good specs can be ruined by poor design, shoddy construction and rubbish software. There are only 2 or 3 who have almost got it right, and even they have the odd issue than needs sorting.

With Chinese budget phones, I don't think it's ever "too good to be true". I have a Chinese phone with very good specs, it cost £115. It's also been updated to Nougat. Can't grumble...

I've done a bit of homework on this one and the company isn't that new (formed 2012) and have had 2 other models on release with much lower specs than this, but marketed as budget phones. The previous one called Maze Blade had 3GB of RAM with a 32GB ROM. Saw it for £95 on Gearbest. It only has a 1.3Ghz MTK Processor though. There are 3 other resellers of this as well as GB, but all seem to be shipping from HK, probably the same factory and all in the £125 range. In August they plan to release a 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM version of this which I'd be much more inclined to buy as long as this one doesn't flop in the meantime. Haven't read anything about it receiving security updates though even if it never progresses beyond v7.0 and that would be a deal breaker for me. They've got a pretty nice looking website of their own that reassures me they're not some fly by night company but still, no updates = no sale for me.

Buying a new model from a new manufacturer from gearbest - only for the brave.. If demand is high expect a runaround from gearbest on stock and despatch estimates. Personally I'd wait till some decent reviews are available - for the price with the reported specs it sounds a bit too good to be true.

Good looking deal especially for a spare phone. I have to wonder what they've skimped on to keep the price so low for its overall specs though, especially as the gyroscope sensor is usually the first thing they omit meaning VR apps compatibility will be almost zero but this one has it, 4GB of RAM & 60+ GB of storage space without needing any additional SD Cards. Even if you never got another update at that price you can't go wrong. Or can you? The brand being an unknown means you're taking their unproven word for it that the phone has these specs. If I didn't have too many Androids as it is I'd take a punt on this, pay by PayPal and hope for the best. Worst case scenario is raising a claim with PayPal if the phone is not as described and you will eventually get your money back. I don't see anything about whether it comes with Google Apps or not. Maybe it doesn't and can't run them straight out the box and that's the trade off?
