Agreed, I have a note 4 and having a few issues with it so need something else and the V20 looks the best upgrade but not keen on a grey import especially with LG's recent track history.

Have they sorted the woeful battery performance that the V10 suffers from? Suspect not given they've increased the screen size and only increased the battery to 3200 mah.

They're both similar devices, both have 5.7in displays but the LG G6 is physically smaller and its display is 18:9 rather than 16:9, the V20 has a secondary display on top of the main display. The LG G6 has a weather sealed body with a non-replaceable battery while the V20 isn't weather sealed but it's one of the last flagship phones to have a replaceable battery. The G6 has had a much wider release than the V20 which could mean user support is better as there should be a lot more of them out there whereas I find the V20 forums are generally comparatively quiet.

Personally I'm considering the V20 for the replaceable battery particularly as the current rumours are pointing to the V30 having a sealed design similar to the G6. However having to buy the V20 as a grey import and the quieter user forums are big black marks against it, the cheaper price is making it a more difficult choice.

There isn't much difference in the processors, the 821 is a slightly higher clocked version of the 820 but that's pretty much it - you need an 835 to get a proper upgrade.

I haven't used either phone although if the replaceable battery isn't a requirement, I'd probably go for the G6.

The V20 is a media beast and if you're that way inclined its the way to go.
Any battery wows are negated by the fact you can swap the battery out in seconds
It's crazy price for a 8 month old Flagship device which is the best media device bar none and tempts me even more as the price falls fortnightly.

Removable battery means you can carry spares.

Using one to write this answer. Had it for a few days, is brilliant, love it. Audio quality is superb. Performance very good (previous phone was Snapdragon 800 with 2GB RAM)
And it's now possible to unlock bootloader and root it, thus assuring longevity with third party ROMs.

you can buy replacement backs with a large battery bulge and extended battery on ebay. it took me minutes to find one.
or, just carry spare batteries. the back has metal clips and a release mechanism, so removing the back regularly won't wreck plastic clips like some phones.

I think... PayPal will cover you for any failed delivery well enough, and CC will offer a level of protection under S75 should the item develop a fault. Short term v medium term in effect.

Since it's a grey import, it needs to go back to its original territory for LG to honour the warranty. Some people report this goes ok and they're with out the phone for a relatively short period of time, others have been without the phone for much longer and had problems getting it sorted.

With grey imports I work on the assumption it has no warranty and if it does get sorted under warranty, that's a bonus.

Not really, the V20 had a very limited release compared to the G6 and there's no significant differences I'm aware of - they all have the quad DAC which is one of the features the EU G6's were missing.

It was ~£280 when initially posted, which would make it £266 after 5% discount - prices seem to fluctuate on a daily basis, sometimes more frequently. Just check their page as often as you can, or at least once a day.

How well do notification work, such as for emails, Facebook, whatsapp etc, does the 2nd screen stay on all the time? Im thinking of a new phone, but the lg g6 has a poor method for notifications... LG wouldn't collect or return the phone to the UK, they'll only support the phone in the territory it was sold in which in this case is Hong Kong I believe. Return experiences vary considerably, you can read some of it here:

There's quite a few reviews on Trustpilot as well, it's likely you'll have to pay to return the phone to eglobalcentral but after that it's unknown, some people claim to have got their phones back very quickly, for others it's taken months.

I see that they also sell the phones through their ebay store, they state the following :-
"The one-year warranty is provided by our company (Our Service center is in UK), NO International manufacturer warranty for the item.".

I'm wondering if the same will apply to the phone if bought through the eglobal site?

I would imagine it's exactly the same procedure for both ebay/the main site, some people have reported relatively quick turnarounds (under a week) while others it's been several months so potentially there are some devices being repaired in the UK (most likely ones that are no different to the UK variant) while others are being shipped back to Hong Kong. I only know of a couple of people who've had to use the repair service, one was initially told to send it to the manufacturer in the UK and the seller would cover the costs but it ended back in its original territory and then returned after some time. The second one was sent straight to HK and appeared a few months later unrepaired.

At this low a price it's certainly worth considering but it is a risk.

Wouldn't a credit card cover you if the item never showed up as well? I thought the whole point of the Section 75 legislation was to prevent customers accumulating debt on an item they never received or doesn't work correctly.

Hi Everyone. I received my LG V20 today, after ordering from TobyDeals a couple of weeks ago. Seems like a great phone so far, at present I'm installing all my apps from my google account. Also if anyone's worries about OTA updates, one of the first things it did was tell me it had a new software update available.
From what I understand Toby Deals delivers much quicker than the other Hong Kong based companies (eglabalcentral, gearbest etc) and there's no import tax to pay (they take care of all that). Oh and mine came with bang and olufsen earphones!

I recently purchased a LG V20 from eGlobal and I couldn't be happier! I'd done my research and knew exactly which phone I wanted however, I'd read numerous bad reviews about eGlobal and obviously had my reservations but considering the low price (£275) I took a chance. I've had the phone for 4 weeks now without any issues. The headphones aren't H3's but are branded B&O and provide a really good fit and the sound quality is great. The phone itself is awesome, came set in English and had Google Play Store installed. For the money it's a absolute bargain!

There are some issues. The process is pretty straight forward to anyone who has rooted before. I had a static screen issue which was resolved by searching other posts.

The main issue for many (including me) rooting breaks the main camera auto focus. Returning to stock solves the problem so I'm confident there should be a solution at some point.
