LG had a great comeback with this phone and its dropped in price already.
- Really Good Camera - Beautiful Hi-Res Screen - Water Resistant
The OnePlus 5 has just been released but is £100 more than this! and doesn't offer the QHD screen or waterproofing.
I have ordered from eglobal twice - a Oneplus One and a LG Urbane - both received within 3 weeks. I know a few people have had problems with this company but patience will save you a lot of £££.

LG G6 over time
£419.99 = cold (-132)
£393.99 = hot (440)
£392.84 - hot (397)
£365.68 = cold (-92)
£344.34 = cold (-26)
£335.61 = hot (427)
Is it going to get cold again next price drop?

Yeah blue is a brand new colour released same time as the G6+, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if that takes longer than Black/White/Platinum. Pretty cool though, you'll be one of the first people to own a Blue G6.
BTW my black one has arrived

Ordered a black one on the 26th June and it was delivered today. So that was within 7 working days. The box came with the seal broken and a screen protector applied. Everything in the box was unopened. Inside there was instructions, sim pin, headphones, LG branded screen cloth and the Asian pin charger. A 3 pin adapter was included in the package outside the box. A delivery notice was obtained on the 29th June from DPD but this did not become live until the 3rd July and it was delivered on the 4th July. Phone is great and working well. Hope this info helps someone.

As above, I ordered the black version back on 24th June. No charge on my credit card has shown up and still says processing on their website. Opened a ticket yesterday and still haven't received a response. Will give it a couple more days and then may just have to accept that I might never receive it.

mine's the same. Placed the order on the 26th, the charge on my cc showed up on Friday. It's normal, typically takes them around 7-10 working days to get the phone to us. It seems the shipping tracking only shows up when the phone gets to the UK where it gets shipped by DPD.
Am hoping to have it delivered mid-worst case late next week

Yes, but be aware that you won't get tracking number for 2-3 working days after you first get notified by DPD. EGlobal pre-register delivery details in readiness for the phones arrival into the country, then tracking number and live tracking will start to update.

Only affects it when it's light, it doesn't apply to when it's dark. I've installed NoLed, there's another app called dynamicnotifications but it over complicates it and I couldn't get it to work without adding another 2 layers of swiping.

28 Jun 17#204
That's pretty low, have you got brightness on 100% or are you busy setting up/installing lots of apps?
Battery has been a bit mixed for me so far:
Day 1 I had 18hrs of use, 5hr SOT before I had to recharge.
Day 2 was pretty poor, had to plug in and recharge after 12hrs use, 2.5hrs SOT.
Day 3 was better, I deactivated 4G mode as I live and work in pretty poor 4g reception areas, got 18hrs of use, 3hrs SOT and still had about 30% left.
This is all on wifi at home, mobile data at work, BT/NFC/Location/Google Now all on and Gmail/Whatsapp syncing. Auto brightness. Always on display on.

28 Jun 17#203
I noticed this too. However, there is a brightness option in settings (which i haven't tried yet); but, of course that will hit the battery.

The problem is my brother got G4 too after me, which bootlooped about the same time as mine did. What a huge huge mistake :disappointed:

I raised ticket because DPD sent me "we have your parcel, it's in Feltham, we're delivering your parcel on Wednesday". on the Wednesday DPD wrote "we never received your parcel so it's going to be delayed". When it appeared again in their system a week later (after I tried to contact EGC), it was in Birmingham. Then DPD logged it three times as arriving in Peterborough.
Not knowing wtf was happening, I tried contacting both DPD and EGC.

Day 1 I had 18hrs off charge, with 5hrs of SOT. Heavy usage day as I was busy setting up, installing apps etc...
At the moment I'm at 83%, that's 5hrs off charge and 44mins of SOT. (that's with everything syncing, always on display, WIFI/BT/NFC on etc...) There is a power saving mode which downclocks CPU, but haven't felt a need to activate it yet.
So far I'm happy, not ecstatic, but I'm only on Day 3. I'm coming from a phone where I was lucky to get to 3hrs of SOT, so it's all good.
And yeah, I agree on the lack of notification light, although the Always on Display is more than making up for it.
Although the lack of a scheduler on the Comfort View/Blue Light Filter mode is pretty annoying, I hope LG address that in an update.

Sorry, that was a poorly typed post.
I meant the LG G6 is obviously easier to hold, but the G6 aspect ratio isn't as good for web pages and text (but better for movies).
The G6 and the V20 have the same diagonal screen size, but there is more screen area on the V20.
I like the form factor and waterproofing of the G6, but I prefer the metal back and removable battery of the V20

unboxing of my lg g6 which i received from eglobal last week (when the phone was £370 before promo codes). note there was no seal but phone was brand new with stickers in the back. this was my first order from them.
I'm torn between this and the OP5, I ordered the OP5 already but considering returning it and going for this instead. It seems like a lot more phone overall and much cheaper too. Big concern over the company and warranty, although OnePlus don't exactly have a great reputation there either. I feel as though OnePlus got a little too bold this year with the OP5 price versus its lack of features and their decision not to support the OP2 which really isn't that old was a shocking one and gives great concern over the longevity of the OP5.

EGC probably value each item delivered to its distributor at under £15 so no VAT applies. I am not familiar with excise law but as EGC is based in HK and has no legal presence in UK I suspect the only recourse open to HMRC would be to seize goods.

Anyone got the same phone LG G6 H870DS, just wanted to know wi-fi call feature work with the phone as I have signal issues.
Very good. Video recording is top notch, check pocketnow on YouTube. Juan there was able to change camera to this phone for his 4k videos without anyone noticing. Ohh and the mics are incredible. Wide angle camera is great fun but a little low res compared to the g6. Only 8mp for wide angle. For photos it's great, but you really need to fiddle with manual mode for it to shine. Auto mode isn't the strongest compared to its rivals (pixel, iPhone and s7)
Hope this helps.

21 Jun 17#118
I think companies sadly take this stance because of the quick cycle of new phone releases these days. They expect and even encourage you to move on to the next model rather than deal with existing issues. It literally took exploding phones for someone like Samsung to do something about it so LG aren't going to budge on what they deem as small issues!

LG has cultured quite a reputation for stuffing the customer.
I have a G4, a model which has a known design defect. But what really annoyed me even more than the knowledge that my expensive phone might brick itself (and take my data with it) was that they were still selling them even after this came to light, along with the attitude that if the defect manifests out of warranty, enjoy your paperweight.

The G6+ is currently only planned for Korea/Asia, so if we are getting hold of one it will still be through eglobal or similar. Personally I manage on my current 16GB storage, so 64GB on the current model sounds like plenty to me, 128GB sounds like overkill based on my usage.
The thing with both these models is, if they are better, then they will cost more. We are being offered this phone for this price because it isn't quite perfect. So unless you are desperate for extra storage and wireless charging and are happy to pay for it I see little reason to hold off.
The main phone to wait for atm is the Pixel 2 imo, but then there's always a new phone just about to be released, you have to bite the bullet at some point..

The black version is now down to £325, that's half the launch price already.
Plus the black version is best anyway so you don't see the screen edge.
Although the new colours on the G6+ look tempting too, black front and coloured rear.
Frankly this Asian version has most of the extra features of the "plus" model anyway, quad DAC and increased storage.

these posts on LG g6 man you guys will make me buy one, now that the amazon has accepted to return my LG G5 which has a GPS issue due to LG being a right pain in the ----- by refusing to fix it.. this deal is becoming more tempting even though i know eglobal is rubbish, should i buy this one or wait for s8 plus to come down to its senses.

Likely best payment method is direct purchase from merchant via UK credit card to benefit from UK-based Section 75 protection where the UK credit card company is legally obliged to assume all the responsibilities of the merchant such as delivery obligations, warranty, etc (EGC state 12months warranty for mobile phones); there is no requirement to ever contact EGC again once the credit card payment is made. An EGC thread for same phone a few weeks ago showed that credit card purchases were processed as debtor-creditor-supplier arrangement which is pre-requisite for S75 qualification. Second best payment method probably PayPal where you might squeeze 6months protection from purchase date.

dual sim itself makes no difference
many dual sims are however from china/asia however and thus may have support for slightly different bands
So you would be totally fine with Vodafone and probably everyone else too.

I think the bands are not such a big issue as they used to be. Check that the phone has the same bands as the network operator you want to use. Bigger possible issue is that any software updates for the regular UK version will not come through to a foreign dual sim version. Most likely you will be stuck with the same software forever with no updates.

Don't you mean they ONLY have the UK/EU version motherboards which is why they say they can't fix the Taiwan grey imports? The reality is that the motherboards are completely compatible - I bought a screen damaged LG G4 with UK motherboard and swapped it for my bootlooping Taiwan import motherboard - now works perfectly fine so LG UK could fix the phones if they wanted to.
gman99
21 Jun 172#66

I am still speaking to LG, i never said it was an import, but on the email they sent me to send it back it did say..
"i.e. liquid contamination or physical damage which has affected the
main board etc., non EU handset), there will be a nominal return fee to cover processing and
return of the handset unrepaired"
I don't think this is fair as my partners full time address is in S E Asia at the time of purchase, she has now moved to the UK... so i am still speaking to LG. For most people though - I don't think it will be supported.
regedit
21 Jun 17#62
LG UK explained to me similarly that they don't have the UK/EU version motherboards and that they can't help any further. Retailer should help as they buy 24 months warranty from factory according to LG UK.
It's not nice for LG to act like faulty phones didn't come off their factories and avoid replacing a motherboard which costs them probably a couple of quids.
I could've bought a Samsung like my partner did which is still going strong  but nope never LG again

I bought 2 items in the past from these characters, a fitbit blaze which was fine and a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which failed after 3 months... sent it back to them and they've had it ever since, 7 months ago. They said it couldn't be repaired until I said I would send it back to Samsung for repair as I contacted Samsung and they said it was covered under warranty by Samsung Gulf, then e-global said it could be repaired... and just held on to it! In the end I accepted their offer of vouchers (to be spent on their website) at which point they said the phone couldn't be repaired again. You have to wonder why they didn't want me sending the phone back to Samsung... make your own minds up!

I bought an LG G4 from eglobalcentral 17 months ago and last month it started having infinite bootloop issues, basically stuck in boot screen again and again (which LG still hasn't fixed with G6 according to some users). LG has accepted this is due to loose motherboard contacts and replaces those affected only to bootloop again after some time.
No support from eglobalcentral (automated response: warranty for 12 months) while LG UK says all their global devices should have 24 months. True if you can find a retailer who honors it. Eglobal is definitely not that one. After lots of mails and weeks without a smartphone, neither eglobalcentral nor LG claims responsibility for a manufacturer-fault device.
Although G6 is a good phone in theory with dual camera, qhd screen, there is the risk that you might not be able to use it after 12 months. When phone is unusable, price, screen, camera specifications lost all their worth anyway.
For me, never ever LG again
never eglobalcentral again.

I dropped my Xiaomi note 3 se which I got from AliExpress. Claimed on nationwide in hope could fix and was new and wouldn't charge after. They where dead nice but simply couldn't fix in a timely manner so under the terms refunded me full cost of phone and even the case after couple of days of receipt. Less pain than sending back for warranty repair. Guess that's what they will do or use for parts. They also said if had a UK spec of phone to replace would have maybe done that but had nothing so high in spec to hand.... Something tells me paying out £140 was cheaper for them than fix or giving me a Hugh spec UK refurbished known make. Now on a note 4 love it. My first claim in many years was down the £10 excess and was another 3 weeks wait but that's life.

I don't think there's an issue with buying grey imports, I've done it in the past and will probably do again in the future but I know the potential risks and weigh them against the cost savings. People may not be aware these phones are grey imports and what the risks they need to consider are against the money saved, I've had a few friends who have bought a cheap phone then learnt the hard way what a grey import is when those devices have failed.
Eglobalcentral are clearly not an 'amazing' seller as there's a lot of people unhappy with the service they've received from them.

1 system update 820 MB. 1 for the LTE 2 update for the system.
arrived fast , new , lovely price, happy days, thx OP

Not knowing wtf was happening, I tried contacting both DPD and EGC.

Is very good value for what you can cover.
Don't let me put you off, this is a gorgeous phone.
They are all sent via DPD, not sure what paying the extra gives you.... possibly covers the trip between HK to UK?
At the moment I'm at 83%, that's 5hrs off charge and 44mins of SOT. (that's with everything syncing, always on display, WIFI/BT/NFC on etc...) There is a power saving mode which downclocks CPU, but haven't felt a need to activate it yet.
So far I'm happy, not ecstatic, but I'm only on Day 3. I'm coming from a phone where I was lucky to get to 3hrs of SOT, so it's all good.
And yeah, I agree on the lack of notification light, although the Always on Display is more than making up for it.
Although the lack of a scheduler on the Comfort View/Blue Light Filter mode is pretty annoying, I hope LG address that in an update.
how long does the battery last for you? heard some bad reviews

I've got a case for emergencies I got off amazon, just some cheapy magnetic flip case. But I don't use one in day-to-day usage.

This deal is 5 days old and delivery takes 6-8 days, maybe some patience is required?
I meant the LG G6 is obviously easier to hold, but the G6 aspect ratio isn't as good for web pages and text (but better for movies).
The G6 and the V20 have the same diagonal screen size, but there is more screen area on the V20.
I like the form factor and waterproofing of the G6, but I prefer the metal back and removable battery of the V20
Roll on 7pm when baby is in bed, wife is at the gym and I can play with my new toy!
We really did get stung compared to US/Asian markets.
But, where can one buy a brand new LG G6 32Gb model (half the internal storage) from a UK retailer/source even without dual-SIM & quad-DAC for under £500 please?
I placed the order on the 12th of June, got a dispatch email on 19th, the tracking code started to work on 22nd. So takes around 10 days in total, probably a week if they dispatch quicker.
It is a pity that the price dropped £30 while I was waiting...

https://youtu.be/gvB2TZvo7jU
Thanks in advance
Hope this helps.
I have a G4, a model which has a known design defect. But what really annoyed me even more than the knowledge that my expensive phone might brick itself (and take my data with it) was that they were still selling them even after this came to light, along with the attitude that if the defect manifests out of warranty, enjoy your paperweight.
I don't care about Snapdragon 835, 128GB or wireless charging, just give me a notification light FFS!
Although after a year or two probably best to root it anyway and install Lineage or whatever is around at the time. Even official updates to UK phones can't be relied upon to be prompt or even come at all.
Plus the black version is best anyway so you don't see the screen edge.
Although the new colours on the G6+ look tempting too, black front and coloured rear.
Frankly this Asian version has most of the extra features of the "plus" model anyway, quad DAC and increased storage.
many dual sims are however from china/asia however and thus may have support for slightly different bands

You can easily check which bands different UK operators use, e.g.

So you would be totally fine with Vodafone and probably everyone else too.

This gets posted and goes red hot.
I've given up trying to figure out this site :smirk:.
A fair bit bigger than the G6 if that's important to you.
Anyone tried the DAC yet. Wow. I'm no audiophile but the difference is astonishing.
Might be with you about never getting an LG again though.
"i.e. liquid contamination or physical damage which has affected the
main board etc., non EU handset), there will be a nominal return fee to cover processing and
return of the handset unrepaired"
I don't think this is fair as my partners full time address is in S E Asia at the time of purchase, she has now moved to the UK... so i am still speaking to LG. For most people though - I don't think it will be supported.
It's not nice for LG to act like faulty phones didn't come off their factories and avoid replacing a motherboard which costs them probably a couple of quids.
I could've bought a Samsung like my partner did which is still going strong  but nope never LG again
Yes, screen area is larger on V20.
Avoid! This is a scam website. Ordered Lg g6 but recieved a toy phone which didnt even turn on.```
Review from TrustPilot
Isn't the screen area actually larger in the V20?
Obviously the G6 is easier to
Held out for the oneplus 5, but honestly i can't justify spending £499 on it.
This G6 will replace my Oneplus One which i purchased back when Oneplus one were trying to undercut everyone....
£419.99 = cold (-132)
£393.99 = hot (440)
£392.84 - hot (397)
£365.68 = cold (-92)
£344.34 = cold (-26)
£335.61 = hot (427)
Is it going to get cold again next price drop?
Literally 90% of the people who are always like 'ooh dodgy ooh chinese ooh not EU'
have never even bought an import good in their life.
Eglobalcentral are clearly not an 'amazing' seller as there's a lot of people unhappy with the service they've received from them.
John
ordered a phone from them on the 9th with "insured economy express shipping" (8 to 10 day delivery), and I still have no idea where the parcel is, I have a tracking number which tells me nothing other than "it's on its way".
I raised two tickets, the first took two days for them to respond and they weren't particularly helpful, I raised another today, and I suspect they won't respond any time soon.
They are terrible at customer service when it comes to answering tickets, I'll agree with that!
What can be done if this phone develops any faults? From the above comments it sounds as though Eglobalcentral won't be too helpful. I have an LG G4. Its a great phone but I've had to send it back for repair 3 times within 2 years. Its on contract so at least it was easy enough to get repaired.
