yes it's actually a really easy fix, YouTube the g5 GPS fix. it's basically a loose connector which needs jamming in well. and a means so that it doesn't come loose again. again it will be shown.
you will.need to open your phone and will void any warranty you may have.
the fix can be done by any amatuer who has patience.

Same crap as me. GPS doesn't work. Is there a simple way to get a replacement or fix for this issue from LG? I assumed that since I've had the phone about 8 months that I wouldn't be covered anymore. Never needed GPS until recently so had no idea it a) didn't work or b) that it was a widespread issue with this model. I thought it must have just been me and my bad luck.

Is this plagued by the bootloop issue? happy to have feedback from its owners

Not heard of any bootloop issues and if there had been this thread would have been full of them already! Mine has been brilliant but luckily I never need to use gps because, as mentioned above, it is virtually non-existant. That is literally the only fault I have had with the phone though. If you rely on gps don't buy. If you don't rely on it buy.

Think you are thinking of the G4, not heard of it on the G5 and even the G4 it was only certain ones, had mine about a year no problems. Was considering this but I am very happy with the G4 so tempted to stick with it another year by, which time the G6 or equivalent might be this kind of price....

I may wait for the G6 to come down in price then. Or look for an alternative.

Awful phone, cant wait to get rid, constantly over heats, slows down to point of being unusable and needs restarting, glass on camera is paper thin, never broken a phone in anyway before but camera glass lasted 2 months wanted £75 to fix loads of complaints online abount the glass not being fit for purpose, gps issues

Yes I'm still using my G2. Paid 179 for it from Smartphonestore. It does occasionally freeze tho, and battery is poor now. Superb camera tho

If you don't mind cex pre-owned (with a 2 year Guarantee with most at grade A or grade b) there is plenty under £300 including HTC 10,Samsung s7,Sony xperia xz ,oneplus 3/3t or even lg g5. To be fair the phones above are the mainstream ones and not necessarily the best camera phone , if I had to choose i would look at the xperia xz or s7 due to being waterproof.
I've owned the lg g4 &lg g2 which had a fantastic camera & screen although the g4 bootlooped. The g2 was ahead of its time.

Crazy that this had GPS issues, the G2 was legendary for that due to a dodgy connection on the rear cover. Shocking to have that problem again!

I have one with GPS issues which according to LG doesn't exist and they're refusing to fix it as I bought it 'new' but privately from eBay. Also have issue with it not charging but that's fixed with a reboot. Won't be buying LG again and encourage everyone else to avoid.

Got this phone last year, great camera, rubbish gps, never had any bootloop issues.
I bought it because of its camera but the gps issues are annoying, about to order the Samsung S8.

Could have brought one, but the bootloop issues are just too risky with a preowned phone.

Had one for 5months, no problems apart from a sporadic one where it wont charge, happened 3 times. Heard it suffers from gps issues but iv not experienced that. So guess its just the usual for lg mobiles, approach with caution, but good for the money if you get one that works.
