Honestly, I don't think you'll like it. Personally, I could never use a 60hz monitor ever again but this 25inch UltraWide is pretty terrible for gaming purposes.

25" UltraWide is technically a stretched 19" monitor, you'll notice some games and some videos that look really weird on it.

I think you would be better off with a 1080p 24" 144hz monitor for £200 and pocketing the £200.

You'll regret that. Once you go back to a 60hz monitor you'll be wanting that 144hz one back.

I'm going to give this a go ... I'm cashing out and downsizing from my Acer 27" 2k 144hz ips, which cost close to £600. Sold it yesterday for £400 after fees a yearish + old. Am i crazy? Always felt that the monitors today are so overpriced and feel slightly justified bringing back £280 and a small screen as my choice back then for gaming if-ed over 24 or 28.

You have to remember the monitor is a long term investment in your eyes :smile: .

I have this also and it's brilliant.

after selling my RX480 due to mining rush, I had to switch from 144 to 60hz on Iris integrated graphic. It took my eyes couple of days to adjust. I can't see jerky frame rate anymore.

Not entirely sure where you're getting that maths from, but a 16:9 monitor with a height of 21" (the short edge) would have a diagonal of >42".

A 24" 16:9 monitor has a height of about 12" and a 21:9 24" monitor a height of about 9.5".

Not quite! I did go back after having a 29" ultra-wide to a 27" QHD flanked by two FHD monitors. Maybe not as good for gaming but windows snap better to whole physical monitors so for productivity, I don't think ultra-wide is the way forward and it's still too niche and expensive to be worth trying as a shot in the dark.

Totally disagree gaming on ultrawide is excellent i for one wouldn't go back but we can agree to disagree :smiley: Anything smaller than a 29" though would be a total waste of money.

Don't know how you guys, but apart from gaming this ultra wide monitor is great when you multitask or want some bigger area to work on without need of buying secondary monitor. Also LG app allows to divide screen your preference keeping some windows always visible.. So if you do loads of spreadsheets, coding etc, this monitor is great gives you that extra space you always wanted! Tried watching videos on it and quite like it too.

Literally not even 10" tall.

Basically just a widened 20" 16:9.

Have the 29" freesync version, really happy with it for gaming and productivity but some downsides for watching media, movies look great but TV programs at 16:9 leave black bars and netflix and amazon don't do 21:9 correctly so you will have bars on all sides unless you use an extension to correct.

Also you need to check you have enough space on your desk if you are buying an ultrawide monitor, especially if you have speakers either side.

I do not have DVI cable so only 60hz over HDMI, No worries MSI 1060 GAMING X is on the way from Amazon. The only reason for getting NV is so I can stream to GearVR.

Get a 29" 1080p or 34" 1440p with Freesync for 75hz IPS Ultrawide goodness.

I use a 1440p 144hz TN Freesync panel also, but have to admit that I much prefer playing games such as Forza Horizon 3 on the LG Ultrawide I set up on my little brother's rig. If you're mostly interested in playing shooters and have a GTX 1060/RX 470 or higher, a 144hz 1ms TN monitor is the way to go.

Alternatively you could just get both and play different types of games on alternate displays :P

This will actually run at 75hz, you just select it in the driver settings.

I've also got the 29 inch one, I think it is the perfect size and this 25 inch might be on the small side. Recommend the 29 inch if you got the cash

Don't get this. Too small. Regardless of what price it is. Well, if its a fiver, down for it. But you know what i mean. I don't remember the height and all that crap but due to the diagonal distance of 24 inch, its tiny af. the whole monitor is a statement of irony because widescreen helps immensly in more screen space and immersion but this screen is so damn tiny, you literally won't be able to do any multi tasking. The 29 inch is the MINIMUM recommendation from me. It does the job. the 34 inch is just perfect. UNLESS you're running on a bit of dated graphics, as the resolution on 34 inch takes a toll on the FPS along with the wide screen too.
