I can say our A7s are going strong and have been battered by my kids for a year or so. they use YouTube and some basic games. this tablet is more powerful and more memory. on paper it's better however I don't have first hand experience of the a8 yet. definitely recommended for kids though.

Thanks again, m_zafar. Mine arrived yesterday, and turned up in mint condition. The screen is lovely and it handles everything I want to do with it really nicely. £55 is an absolute bargain for exactly what I wanted, so thank you. :smiley:

The one I received was locked from the previous owner and requires me to log in with the old google account... :disappointed:
Even after a factory reset the tablet requires an internet connection and when that happens it checks with google and locks itself.
The only way would be to hack with adb but I can not be bothered, I will just return it to them.

How does hard reset protection get enabled in the first place?
BTW thanks for submitting, what I received was usable, but slightly slower interactively than my AsusMemopadHD7, its replacing.

Great tablet until recently when it no longer takes a charge, contacted Argos and they arranged for their warranty service to look at it, all I had to do was drop it off and will now be getting a refund as it's dead, was still a good tablet for the 8months i had it
