Googled gearbest and this link/price came up, which is the cheapest I've seen - in black only. But dont attempt to use voucher codes as it does not accept them and then readjusts the price upto about £18!!! Ive just bought 2 via paypal at this price. Seems like this version of the site has a flash sale on the HW01 for the next four days.
Heart Rate Monitor Real-time monitor your heart rate, you can know your heartbeat condition at any time - Sleep Monitor Monitor your sleep time and quality, keep a beautiful skin state - Sports Track Record sports steps, distance, calories burned, etc. data, which lets you insist on sports every day - Call Remind Remind you with vibration in time even in a noisy environment - BLE 4.2 With strong Bluetooth chip, the wristband can measure the data more accurately, low-power consumption
I have both watches, and I would definitely say that the lenovo watch is much better than the miband. Only advantage of the miband is the battery life which is around 2 months.

If its like the Band 2, you dont get to read the texts, you get a notification a text was sent from a certain number.

although you cannot read any messages with the official mi band app if you get really good 3rd party apps that allowed messages to be read.

Seems some people are having trouble getting these to sync with their phones. I had the Mi Band 2 which was amazing for the money, but I found myself wanting more than just notifications when messages/emails came in, so I picked up a Samsung GearFit2, you can pick these up for around £70 new on Ebay, a lot more expensive I realise, but it also does a lot more as well - works with both Apple and Android phones too.

Just ordered to replace a lost £10 band which fell out on a run due to the flimsy straps. Build quality looks a little better on this with its thicker straps than the Xiaomi and the capsule is fixed and doesn't need to be removed for recharging.
Software is where the miband2 excels, as it has been around for a lot longer and is widely supported with features on third party apps.

Mine arrived this week (from the previous time this was a deal) battery has only gone down one bar in the last three days. Step counter seems to me pretty accurate. App isn't too bad. You can set up your settings from the lenovo app like find my phone, alarms that make the wrist band vibrate and can control music through the band(but I am not sure if this is particularly useful)

HUAWEI Mate / P9 / Glory 3C / Glory 3X / Glory 6 / Glory PE-TL20, Samsung Galaxy E7 / Note 3, MEIZU MX5 / metal / PRO 6 / note2, Xiaomi Mi 2/ Mi 2A / Mi 5 / Mi Note, ZTE V5 / Nubia Z7 / Nubia NX513J, Letv 1S, Lenovo K50-t5

Before you order one just make sure your phone, tablet or PC has the right version of Bluetooth. And again if you're using Android make sure you have a compatible version of it. The MiBand 2 is only compatible with 4.4 and more.
Ordered a MiBand2. Took about ten days just to get it posted from when I paid on TidyBuy :-(. It came and I found out my phone Huawei y300 was on 4.1. So updated my phone to 4.4 losing text messages and stuff, then went to pair the MiBand2 and the software says my phones Bluetooth is the wrong version!!!!! Bluetooth 2.1. Luckily my Lumia 920 has Bluetooth 4 so the Band 2 is now up and running.
Please check your gear is compatible with the Lenovo HW01 Sports tracker watch before you buy!!!!!

The list seems to have some older models.
It's compatible with anything on Android 4.4 or higher and Bluetooth 4.2.
Further reading, it seems that we can use the smart band if you're on Bluetooth 4.0, and 4.1. Bluetooth in this range is compatible with the same sense of firmware, it's just the newer features on 4.2 will not work with 4.0 and 4.1 (usually wifi/bluetooth connection and extra security).
Bluetooth 4.2, what's new?
Why use BLE 4.2 instead of BLE 4.1? The Bluetooth SIG recommends implementing Bluetooth 4.2 in all new designs and requires the same qualification process as all other Bluetooth designs. Devices using Bluetooth Smart will be backward compatible with Bluetooth 4.0 or 4.1 devices that also implement the low energy features. Devices implementing the (BR/EDR) Core Configuration will be backward compatible to all adopted Bluetooth Core versions beginning with 1.1 that also implement Bluetooth BR/EDR.

This again!
I have one. The band itself is pretty decent... but...
There's no evidence that this is manufactured by Lenovo suggesting it might be just some random Chinese company slapping the Lenovo logo on it, the app is poor quality and by some random name (not Lenovo), sleep doesn't sync to Google Fit, sleep syncs to Apple Health but incorrectly ("in bed" and "asleep" statuses should be stacked, not one or the other), doesn't sync directly with MyFitnessPal so if you use an iPhone you're out of luck (if you use Android you can use Google Fit as a translator between the two).
If you just want the tracking on its own it's alright, it's quite a solid and comfy band, but don't expect much quality from the software, the accuracy or the possibility it's backdoored. There are also a ton of really obvious fake "totally unbiased but they sent me one for free" reviews out there.
mrspatch
8 Jun 17#79
quite a few people on here have said they're pleased with it, accuracy is fairly good and for £15 it's worth a punt. Fingers crossed the app will be updated in the future - but a £15 fitness band even forgetting the app is still well worth it imo.

Thats a bummer. Just checked my phone spec. vodafone smart first 7, Android 5.1 but only bluetooth 2.1.
Seems strange there no backward compatibility.
It may be fully backwards compatible but I've only put 4.0 and 4.1 as I didn't find much info going back further (I'm new to all the Bluetooth grades, as I was curious in the band).

Just got an email still at $18.99 via following link.
Ordered 2 x of these, with the first one - for me... took ages to connect to my Note 4 - then quickly disconnected - repeatedly... With the other watch - it would only be found on the other halfs phone... so - stitched that off and tried again.... the 2nd watch took around 6 hours - on full charge - to connect and then it bricked - 4 x solid zeros for the TIME and zero reset etc....... Contacted Lenovo and received a garbled message with an address............ Read the reviews on the APP mostly "1 STAR" - bad purchases....

This thing is cool. What heart rate are y'all getting?
kgeorg
28 Jun 17#103
I got this from Gearbest and found the step counter inaccurate as it often counted arm movements as steps. Also while exercising, the heart rate counter took a minute or so of repeated tests to start giving accurate readings. Now my main issue: The first week I had it, I wore it through day and night as I wanted to check my sleep quality, taking it off only to shower. Satisfied with that and not needing sleep data anymore, the following 2 weeks, I took it off at night when I went to bed. After about three weeks I noticed a tiny tear in the silicone surrounding the watch face which gradually tore enough to loosen the tension that holds it all together so now the watch part won't sit in the strap anymore. The help section of the app links directly to their whatsapp. 2 messages sent and no indication that they even read them. I then emailed them explaining it split after 3 weeks use and asking how/ where I can get a new strap. I got a reply after 1 day :
