Watch out - the Colour Resolution Index for these is >80. You want >95 to not be an annoying light that you can't read under and food looks odd under! They are cheap for a reason.
It's not all about the light output or colour temperature, CRI is what really matters and makes it feel like the incandescent bulbs of old.
It's a bit nerdy but it's why you're never really happy with the current offering of cheap LEDs
Wedding venue wanted £100 to supply a dozen led candles for the church, just got them here for £20, AND I get to keep them! AWESOME! Thanks

Beware of their delivery. They use a **** delivery company who will throw it in front of your house, if you are not around. If you are away for weekend or so, then, LED Hut have a 3 day policy. So, you cant even claim your lost goods if you report to them after 3 days.

FDW code is working, ( I just used it myself) but only for orders of £15.00 or more. I ordered a box of 5 x B22 9W, warm white, and one of the 99p sale golf ball ones to make the order up to just over £15.00, and got free 48hr delivery.

Not heard that one before. There is compromise between efficiency and lifetime of incandescent bulbs, but the filament isn't deliberately designed to break at a certain age.
matth9999
1 Jul 17#75
Quoted lifespan for some is 25,000 hours.
Other than defective / overrated ones, like a set of poundland 5W candle that all died pretty quick, they last pretty well.
Generally not bothered by switching cycles (which put a lot of load on incandescent or fluorescent), the LEDs do eventually age, losing some output. They can die due to overheating, the electronics in them can give out, but they are as reliable as any other electronic component.
They do not have the inherent mortality of incandescent (where the filament is deliberately weakened to cause it to break rather than continue to lose efficiency) or fluorescent where the emission mix will eventually burn away (more so with starting, particularly poor starting - electronic one-shot starting gets better life out of them)

Stupid question but do LED bulbs ever stop working?
(Besides when the light's off etc. for any smartasses out there)

For LED light noobs: Just remember cheap ones often dont support dimmers and can buzz when used if you havent upgraded your dimmers to LED compatable ones which are pricey.

Although they only replace 35 watt bulbs, a great price if you need one for a lamp! Thanks!
TedStriker72
30 Jun 17#68
Well, you said regardless of price! These have CRI in the high 90s and give a light I've never seen from anything other than incandescent before.
Do you have a link (regardless of price) on good LEDs which conform to the CRI you quote. I was about to replace a a whole shedload of GU10's in kitchen/diner and would rather have something I'm happy with for the next 5+ years than save money and be annoyed every time I cook. I'd be looking for a warmer white rather than bight harsh white - and dimmable, I'm happy to change the dimmer switch.
Thanks.

worst quality bulbs ever. i was recommended this company by someone a while ago and i spent hundreds of pounds only to have them fail one after another (different bulbs / different fittings / different electrics) so the bulbs are bad quality.

LED are much better than the fluorescent curly type bulbs. They might use a tiny bit more electricity, but they give instant light and give good light, not like the dim fluorescent ones.
Keep your Eyes peeled on screwfix too.

Led filament bulbs are more efficient A++ compared to some LED lamps which are either A or A+
and since you will probably have these for a loooooooooooooooooong time, it might worth considering spending more on the efficient ones with lower electric use. check at least lumens not watts when comparing.

Is e27 the same as small ES? And do dimmables work fine in non-dimmable setups? Thanks
matth9999 to Jonnyblock
29 Jun 172#28
E27 is large screw, I think the small is E14
Dimmables work anywhere - in some cases, they may be a little less efficient than non-dimmable, depending on what type of driver circuit is used in them
